This is the whole unaired 1999 VH-1 pilot with guests such as Elliott Smith, Rickie Lee Jones and Grant Lee Philips - Nothing less than remarkable.
I had to split it in five parts in an attempt to fool my extremely slow upload bandwith.
There are already a few clips of some of these performances uploaded by kind youtubers and I did not mean to reupload them, just wanted to share the whole thing.

It warms my heart, as someone who pitched this and helped shoot and edit it, to see these responses, after all this time. Jon's a lovely man, and I am honored to have been part of this amazing pilot. Those months of prep and those two days of shooting are possibly the most amazing moments of my (weird) career. AND, I got to direct Paul F Tompkins?! Holy shitballs!

This show was way too far ahead of its time. Also by the time these "indie" cats were all en vogue there was no such thing as a music variety show anymore. I'm so glad this exists to show us what should've been and wasn't.

@@trystero1729 I know, but the one in the video is different. It's probably Jon's since he the uses the same one at the end, I've only seen Elliott with a Yamaha or Gibson.
