Great video and really interesting to see the results! I have to say the weight gain for the MK8 compared to an RS3 or a MK7 R really does impact the full potential on the MK8 R. All the OPF's and extra safety structure does it no favours on that side. Looking forward to your future changes to your 8R to see where it can go 👍

Idk if it varies from country to country, the 8R sold in my country does not have the dual OPFs if you select the Performance package

Why is this impressive? A 300hp mk7r stage 1 is around 360. A 230hp mk7 gti stage 1 is around 300. Mk8r from 340hp to 400hp is around the same amount of gains.

How does this work out with VW warranty?. There are quite a few mods to remove every time you have a service. VW Mercedes don't take to any mods if you get a problem. Just asking...

Warranty is voided so I don’t recommend if it’s an issue to you. I don’t use VW for servicing personally so it’s no problem.

Stage 1 and there won't be a single CTR FL5 or FK8 catching it ON THE TRACK. Even if their entry and corner speeds remain a bit higher... the exit speed (and straight line) of the MK8R will be so bonkers - their big wings won't matter. What does a flash cost? $600-1000? I'll take it.

Im not sure if Euro dynos are different but these stock numbers are extremely high, works out to 330 hp and 330 ft-lb at the wheels. In the US a stock R MK8 makes around 305 hp and 295 ft-lb at the wheels and an additional 50 hp and 65 ft-lb with stage 1 ECU flash. Theae values are with 91 octane.

I had the mk 7.5 dsg for 3 years at a ridiculous price of £220 a month, tried to extend for a 4th year and they wanted £498 a month 😔 to claw back some money. It was a cancelled order from a leasing company. It put a smile on my face every day ☺️. I would love the new one but stuck with a landrover now 😔.

10.15 seconds with slope correction is really strong for just software, my upgraded turbo mazda 3 Mps does mid 9s for reference (dynod at 393hp and 542nm) and that has plenty of hardware mods😯
