@LeechMotorsports4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. A lot of the concepts and theory are somewhat applicable, but the mod motor strategies are very, very different than the fox stuff. Definitely more complicated, but you just have to take your time going through everything in the strategy. Start by looking at a stock tune, and work your way logically through changes one at a time.

@@LeechMotorsports Here's one for you, quick question? stock 93' cobra motor, V3 @ 11.5psi, LMAF, 42's, 340lph, and afpr.. the car is sitting at 11.6 a/f on the tune. I added a powerpipe, so just as a hypothetical, if the powerpipe was in fact, to increase boost pressure, will the computer know to add more fuel, if the MAF reads more air, but isn't in a pegging situation and given the injectors can actually send more fuel?
@LeechMotorsports4 жыл бұрын
Ryan Jamieson yes. As long as you haven’t pegged the MAF and don’t run out of fuel pump or injector, it will continue to add fuel based on the higher area of the MAF transfer curve. However, it is possible your tune before could be super dialed in, but with more airflow, you’re now in an untuned area of the MAF transfer. So you may experience a slight lean or rich condition at the top end. But a simple adjustment to the corresponding MAF cells will get you fixed up.

Another great video! On the fan control I personally have done several. from factory they only have the hardware to have high speed fan control. high speed only works off of speed and ECT. Which is a great easy cheap mod for majority of the cars. for low speed you need to add an IC and then you will control of low and high speed. low speed Is based off of speed, ect, and ac parameters. I have sourced some IC from other ECM to try low speed but just haven't done it yet. What I will get people to do is add a trinary switch for AC or other ECT switches if low/high speed control is desired.
@LeechMotorsports4 жыл бұрын
Right on. That’s seems like a good strategy. Would you by any chance know where to get a pile of unused ford style terminals? I’ve not been able to find them, but they must still be available since pro-m sells stuff like the MAF conversion harness that’s already pinned.
@johnhargreaves52724 жыл бұрын
@@LeechMotorsports I dont have a new source. I just have been cutting up old harnesses (trucks, town cars, explorers, etc) Also you can move some pins around on the existing car. Been awhile since I done one but i believe i have taken the pin from the air pump system and moved it over for fan control before. Also most of the EECIV ECUs have the IC chip needed for low speed fan control. I have a lincoln ECU with two chips. Just need to find a good way to remove them from the board. Has not been high on the list of things. Once I can remove the chips then I can install in a foxbody ECU and have full low/high speed fan control based on speed, ECT, and AC.

john hargreaves some how I knew that would be your answer. Lol. But nothing wrong with it. If it works it works.
@johnhargreaves52724 жыл бұрын
Haha I dont run a shop so running across some old junk harnesses works for me for awhile. With moving pins and scavenging from one old harness can last me a long time for the small demand of tuning old foxes. Haha I will look around though for sure. My first place would be to just ask the guys at moates. Being you work in a shop having a supply of new pins to add in would be beneficial and time saving I am sure.

@LeechMotorsports4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the T4M2 is not a bad starting point, but like everything else, will still need some work based on the specifics of your combo. But I like those two topics... Gufb vs cbaza and simplifying various aspects of cbaza. I also would like to highlight some parameters many don’t know exist in CBAZA due to the differences between the Core Tuning, Sailorbob, and free CBAZA strategies. All 3 are very different.

Thank you for this video! I bought a QuarterHorse from Moates a couple years ago but I have not yet installed it. One thing I am curious about, I have the A9P Computer still in my 1990 fox which has been converted to a T5 manual. Using the Quarterhorse and binary editor, am I able to change the parameters in the A9P computer to make it operate identical to the A9L computer? Or would it be better to find an A9L and go from there instead?

Great video. The pace is just right, you are covering what we all want to know. Good stuff. I am just getting into the tuning of my various vehicles and so I started googling just about anything about the EEC-IV ECM. Stumbled on your video here, really glad I did. Sub'd and gave it a thumbs up man! QUESTION - I've done the EGR delete and I'm keeping the ECM happy with a voltage divider plug I've made at the EGR position sensor harness end. But my understanding is the stock map will be pulling some timing during the cruise areas of RPM range when it thinks the EGR valve is open - where in the system (using BE or TunerPro RT) do you disable the EGR turn on function; or do you???? TIA, Clay
@LeechMotorsports3 жыл бұрын
There is a setting in the tune where you specify EGR type. There is a dropdown to choose from and there is an option that just sets it to none or disabled. By doing that, it will get rid of all the egr logic in the tune. Then you can remove the egr delete plug.

I would definitely recommend going out to the Core Tuning website and looking at the list of strategies in their database. If they have support for your strategy (I can almost guarantee they do), that’s probably going to be your best option. They have complete packages that include hardware, binary editor software, and access to the strategies in their database. These strategies are very complete.
