To help @EllisWR , in Tunisia, we use mainly these blossoms/roses waters: - Orange blossom water "zhar" = mainly in coffee (but just a few drops, 2 or 3, do not put a lot, as it makes your coffee taste bitter 😁) - Geranium blossom water "aatirchiya" = is mainly in Tunisian sweets like "Makroudh" You can find it in coffee chop but I do not recommend it, it is a bit strong for coffee - Rose water "maa ward" = you can put it in coffee (also a few drops, a lot make your coffee taste chemical) but mainly in traditional sweets - Dog-rose Water "nisri" = always in the white round sweet that you tried at the beginning of the video, by the way, the sweet is called "kaak el warka" (literally translated to sheet cakes) hope I helped, thank you for the videos, love the content 🥰❤❤❤

@HediNaili

@@EllisWR louages are good indeed although lack AC in most cases and you can end up with some crazy drivers who don't give a s*** about road signs, speed limitations, know exactly where police control can be so they know exactly when to slow down So I would say louages are quite practical for your use case There are bus(es) as well but not all of them are comfortable enough for long distances You can stick to louages you won't have many surprises In general renting a car is the way to go if you are looking for a comfortable ride but in your case you want to fully experience the local life so it might not be suitable for you

Welcome to Tunisia! I really liked your video; it's very realistic, and I respect your honesty. However, I didn't appreciate how you wanted to get a cup of tea for only 1 dinar. I'm sure you understand that it's not just about the tea itself, but also about the place. For example, do you think this café owner pays the same rent as other owners around Tunisia? I believe he sold it to you for 2 dinars as an act of kindness, nothing more. I hope you accept my comment as I accept your opinion about my country with love 😍. And you are welcome any time.

Hate it Always delayed and the reason is. that their are useing one train one going and other going back in the same ROAD. so one of them should wait in the station to pass the other.. i really recommend to avoid it otherwise you gonna lose the day just waiting and waiting, about the Eljem Meuseum as we call it; it was empty because i think its a sunny day and ppl hate going out in sun, very typicall in Tunisia, and also if you are on Sunday its worse and worse. The sweet you had at the beginning of the video is called "Kaak Warqa" it is originally from the city of Zaghouan near Tunis (it has cool roman ruins too and it was rebuilt by Moriscos and has the best Kaak Warqa). My Morisco grandma is from there and she told me the history of the Kaak Warqa as it was told to her by her ancestors who came to Tunisia in the 17th century! It was created by Andalusian refugees who used these cakes to hide their bracelets and jewelry inside of them, so that the Spaniards do not steal them while they were getting expulsed from Spain! By the way, they use "Nessri flower water", it's a type of Rose specific to Zaghouan.

But to be fair, you can't complain about a tea being 5 times the normal price when it's higher quality and with a nice location. This litterally happens in every country where you have that one expensive coffee shop. You don't see someone walk in those and ask for a lower price because he finds it unfair, let alone have the server agree to their new price 😂

PS: The Tunisian Collocuim is older than the ITALIAN one actually ROME copied the Collocuim but you know the winners are the ones who writes the HISTORY Carthage was like much advanced but the advanced EMPIRES was hated from everyone arround that's why it will go down sooner or later

No, it's not older. The Roman colosseum was built in 72 AD while the one in El Jem was built in 238 AD , after the fall of Carthage in 149 BC.

What is rarely mentioned, especially by politicians, is that Tunisia has the second-highest number of Roman archaeological sites in the world. Why? Because Tunisia rapidly adopted Roman civilization, building on its pre-existing advanced civilization, Carthage, which bore similarities to Rome. Additionally, Tunisia experienced significant Italian immigration during the first centuries AD, as early Italian Christians fled the persecution of the emperor. In reality, Tunisians are somewhat Italian; they spoke a Latin language until the 14th century called African Latin.

My friend, You really had missunderstood that guy with the coffee at his hand. He wanted you to give him something to eat but he had some difficulties to explain to you his request. He coulden't express well himself in english as he does not knows many words in your mother language, but what he wanted to say to both of you is that he wants to comeback to his home with something to eat . He said " eat for home" and he meaned by that " I need food to take with me to where I live becauseI have nothing to eat there". Then he tried to explain better to you his request by telling you name of some foods: Kebab, Pizza ... He did not wanted specially a Pizza or a sandwich of Kebab but he wanted any food to eat. He just mentionated names of foond known on international level like Pizza and Kebab as he thinked that you don't know Tunisian food. The cup of coffee in his hand has been for sure offred to him by somone who knews that this poor guy had the stomach empty. That cup of coffeee is an offred breakfast to him but it was not enought to give him satiety. He does not looks well but is not a dangerous guy or a tourist scammer or sexual pervert.... He did not meaned to be rude to your girlfriend and to you, and the proove is that he went and leaved you alone when you asked him to leave. He did not insulted or acted bad when you asked him to leave you. he was just hungry and he wanted to comeback to his place with something to eat. Sure he is not living in that area near to the kolizuim, he was roading there asking for food and once he gets his food he comes back to his place. The police does not leaves people like him hanging around there in the downtown

I think you are mistaken about the use of the colosseum. Didn’t you see the cricket pitch down the middle? Also used for the England v Tunisia football final 24AD. “It’s coming home”. Too soon?
