Turbo 7.3 Godzilla Swapped S197 - First Startup!

This week we are bringing you an update on our 7.3L Godzilla swapped S197 shop car. After scrambling to get the engine in the car and on display at FL2K, we took a step back to recharge, and we are back to full speed ahead on the car. Now that the car is running and we are past the point of mock-up and startup, we will begin pulling components off and cleaning things up for final assembly.

Hey Paul. We will go over everything in our next video for you. The turbo is a Garrett GTX5533R Gen 2 that we worked with ATP Turbo on. It's an 88mm turbo with a 1.40 A/R. The transmission that is currently in the car is a built TH400 that is long overdue for a rebuild but we have been working with FTI the past few weeks on getting a new TH400 capable of holding over 2000hp for this thing. We will be assembling the engine here in house but our cylinder head work will be done by Willis Performance Enterprises more than likely, as they are doing a ton of R&D on the platform as well.

Do you guys have the Haltech running the variable oil pump and variable cam timing as well?

Not currently. At the moment we just have it locked out. We are working with Haltech on ironing that out though!

@@FiveBarMotorsports Cool, have you guys had any issues with the oil pump lockout? I'm assuming you have it in the max volume position. No blown seals or starvation at high rpm?

@@kellenfield1853 We have not had it doing anything but idling and low RPM as of yet. Planning on having it on the dyno within the next day or so and we will post a video ASAP.

Does this have all stock internals? Realy curious how much a stock motor can be pushed without opening it up.

Hey Mario. Yeah, it is a completely stock longblock that we ordered from Ford. We are building a second engine that will be able to handle the abuse we plan on throwing at it without any issue. We think we should be able to get to around 1000 to the tire on our dyno but we will see!

@@mariobrothers8348 I think we are the first ones to get running with a turbo but Brian Wolfe has been developing a TON of aftermarket performance upgrade options for the platform and he is doing a pretty wild supercharger setup on his. There will be a lot of different options soon.

Revan evan has 780 N/A stage 2 heads i believe. The kid with the new edge swapped one doesnt have hus twins hooked up yet last I saw. And i think Sids is supercharged. (Edit) and the white cobrajet has nitrous and running 10s on a trash track. So Far across the forums i think these guys are the first.

@@brandona4618 Yeah, the one you are seeing on Revan Evan's channel is the one Brian Wolfe has been documenting on his Facebook page. They've been working with a few different manufacturers on camshaft options and cylinder heads. They're doing a big 3.8l Whipple on that one I believe. Exciting stuff.
