The issue was OhRanger was a Sentai with ridiculously overpowered heroes against a serious threat, and CarRanger was a comedic series against a Space Hot Rod Gang and WOW you can tell. Oh and "Rygog" was the boss in CarRanger.

But if I recall correctly (and it's been a long time, so take this with a grain of salt), I think the box office for it was pretty bad, so it probably didn't stay in theaters for very long as a result. But there was a TON of advertising leading up to it.

Mint was Right. This movie most def came out in theaters. I saw it opening weekend when I was 6. It Premiered March of 1997 and went to VHS in June. It was only in theaters for a week or two tho cuz it tanked.

Yup, I saw it in theaters too. Even then, it was a travesty. Also, it was half-in, half out of continuity, just like the first one. Similar events, but played out differently in the series.

Big BIG error was interpreted starting at 1:15:43...Justin the kid stayed as the blue ranger throughout the Turbo series after the movie. The big buff black guy TJ that Riley was talking about, he is the blue ranger, but in the NEXT series Power Rangers in Space. TJ originally though took over as the Red Turbo Ranger after Jason David Frank (Tommy) left the show. LOVE YOU GUYS AND HTM!!!

Justin WAS the Blue Turbo Ranger for the whole season. TJ was the Red Turbo Ranger when Tommy left I believe. During In Space, Justin returned as the Blue Turbo Ranger while TJ was then the Blue Ranger.

Actually, in Turbo they change the team pretty early in the show. Tommy leaves and TJ becomes the Red Ranger. He gets 'demoted' to Blue Ranger in Space only. Justin is still the blue ranger during the whole show though.

This was the point where I gave up on Power Rangers. The transition from their Zeo powers to their Turbo powers felt pretty unnecessary. They basically say "Oh man, our Zeo powers are no match for the threat of Divatox", yet they hardly even TRY to fight her with their Zeo powers. This is particularly inexplicable because the Zeo powers were built up as being incredibly powerful and also increased in power over time. They also had a fleet of Zords at their disposal - the Zeo Zords, the Super Zeo Zords, the Red Battle Zord, the Warrior Wheel, and the sentient Auric The Conqueror - which have apparently all been rendered totally useless and never summoned. But somehow the Turbo powers and their five Turbo Zords are superior. Showing the Zeo Rangers going into battle, getting overwhelmed and having their Zeo Zords get destroyed would've been cool and been a proper set-up for facilitating the need for new powers, but I guess they felt that filming that and showing it wasn't a justified expense in a major theatrical Hollywood release. 🤷‍♂️ And the kid Ranger was dumb too.

I do remember that there were so many kids at the theater that wanted to watch it when they passed by the movie poster, but the parents were RESOLUTE that they weren't going to watch it.

And yes lets talk about Justin the new blue Turbo ranger, in the behind the scenes Steve Cardenes who play rocky in mmpr series 2 to zeo to hear, left cause he was moving to Detroit. It happend like in the move Rocky get injured and they left a 12 year old Justin saw it and he was recruited by zordon. The reason its cause Fox kids has another show Big bad bettleborgs which about 3 kids get turn into hero's by a ghost (and yes looks like Jay leno), bbb works cause of the concert, so they thought it could work on power rangers, but it backfired, new audiance saw him annoying while older ones hated it. But honestly it didnt bother me cause he was written completely, when people and places are missing he knew its divatox he get his equipment to find information, when a villian glotes he goes with alpha. Now plot centering around him can be annoying but it's the attitude but it make no sence. Why not Tommy's brother he good a martial art and he not 12 year old, or have jason he was in zeo has well.

You guys are actually wrong about TJ being the Blue Turbo Ranger. And Just doesn't only appear in the movie. Let me clarify this. The reason why they had Justin replace Rocky is because Rocky's actor wanted to leave the show so he could start his own karate school. For the first three episode arc of Turbo, which is centered around the Rangers high school graduation, Justin was going to give Rocky his powers back, but Rocky says the powers are safe in Justin's hands and now he's got more time on his hands, like how he wants to start his own karate school. So for the entire season, Justin stays as the Blue Turbo Ranger. TJ replaces Tommy as the new Red Turbo Ranger. This happened because as much JDF wanted to leave the show actually right after Zeo, but Saban found a way to keep him longer, along with the actress that played Kat who also wanted to leave. They soon put out newspaper looking for new Rangers to cast. Because of this, they decided to get rid of the two that played Adam and Aisha as well. Those two found out when their makeup artist showed them the newspaper. I feel bad that they were just let go like that. Anyway, at the end of Turbo, they go to chase Divatox into space, thus leading into the events of the "In Space" season. That is when TJ becomes a Blue Ranger.

Fun fact: the Japanese version of Zeo (ohranger) tried to be a little more serious. It had the lowest ratings of Super Sentai and almost got it cancelled. Turbo (carranger) was going to be the last series. They decided to go all out and made it more of a parody of itself. It was a huge success and is the reason we still have Power Rangers and super sentai!
