An engineering degree won't necessarily get you to working on cars. Trust me. I'm a mechanical engineer and the closest I am to working on cars is watching Money Pit. If u really wanna work on cars, do a little more research on how to get there. Maybe work on ur own car, or apply for apprenticeship at a workshop, or take technical workshops on how to be a mechanic. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Big Yeet Daddy Just about every college degree is a meme other than nursing, law, medicine, veterinary, education, and engineering. That’s cause with those professions it’s illegal to work without a degree. As for the mechanical engineer above who doesn’t get to work on cars, did you join you universities FSAE/formula student team? I’m still a student so who knows if I’ll have a career in the automotive industry, but by joining my university’s FSAE team I am able to help design and build a race car that competes against other schools. I get to wrench and test and learn all about cars without spending a dime of my own money. If you’re really into cars and you have the drive engineering is definitely an avenue to get into them. Now getting your red seal or some other certificate as a mechanic may also be a legit way to get a career in cars, but university can also open that door. Edit: I am a mechanical Engineering student for clarification.

Zach, there are some slip on solder joints that come covered in heat shrink. All you have to do is slip it on, twist wires together, line it up, and hit it with a heat gun. Way better than the ol spool/flux/iron method.

Definitely would recommend upgrading the fuel pump. Pressure is going to drop flow. It may flow 165 at whatever unknown pressure it is rated at but it probably doesnt flow that at 54 psi.

An important factor is also what fuel you’re running (for ex. 91 octane or E-85). If you’re running E-85 your fuel injectors will need to be 30% larger with your calculation. So say 750CC injectors make 400 hp with 91 octane, with E-85 might make less than 350. Note: If you’re running E-85 you must get your injectors cleaned 4 times per year and replace all fuel filters (including in tank) at least twice per year.

14:38 You could use a little double sided tape around the body of the gauge to help stick it in place. This way it doesn't fall out when you break and should hold enough until you go with that digital gauge. Temporary solution that doesn't damage anything, easy to clean up with a little solvent, and will keep you from getting frustrated.

for the poor boost gauge fitment, you could wrap tape around the gauge housing (sticky side in) till its a large enough diameter to fit more snug in the air duct. You can still remove it as needed and can remove the tape whenever.

It’s nice to see somebody to doing soldering correctly. Do not use heat to melt the solder onto the wire, this will create what’s called a “cold solder” and can break under vibrations. Heat the wire and let the solder flow in to the strands.

Love it. Only things I would have done differently was to retain AC, and to have an ECU that is able to feed data such as the wideband and boost to your head unit, (you mentioned somethng similar) thus no physical dials and retain your AC vents

It’s important to mention you should check the correct impedance of the injectors when buying a set. If you get the wrong type of injectors you'll end up wasting time and money shipping new ones, or having to jerry-rig some resistors or PWM in software.

10:43 Sometimes you can take apart the clips on both harness's to avoid having to cut and soldering and its a lot more secure of a connection. I guess you could get the old ones off then strip the wire back then take apart the new clips and stick your stock wires in. Better connection imo maybe it doesnt really matter but thats how i've been fixing broken clips in my engine bay

For anyone following along, the fuel injector harness is really easy to detach from the rest of the harness and pull out, so you can rewire on a workbench instead of in the car.

Remember fuel injector are rated at a certain pressure usually 39 or 43.5 which is normal for older return style cars but newer cars with returnless usually bring 50+ make sure to account for that and I like usi g used own injectors like I used 2013 gt500 injectors in my 2011 mustang till need more bigger ones and they were like 175 vs 360 for the bigger after market ones I had to get also different connections had to use adapters in the aftermarket ones and didn't like it but worked fine. Also a lot of newer cars come with big ass fuel pumps and often don't need a pump upgrade til going for big power. This is second hand so keep that in mind, If you go with different rails with bigger diameter they can change your injectors amount I was told but I've never needed to upgrade rails so not sure how true or how much it actually does.
