Turbocharged Exomotive Exocet - One Take

The Exomotive Exocet is a kit you can buy online, and using a donor Miata of nearly any generation, build yourself an exoskeleton vehicle resembling an Ariel Atom. Unlike the Atom, the Exocet is front-engine, rear-drive, and you can use any powertrain from a standard Miata or even a V8 conversion! This Exocet has a turbocharged 'NB' Miata powerplant and gives all the right thrills while making all the right sounds.

On the subject of the ad, I'm not sure who their target audience is. A regular person doesn't car about their car enough to bother paying extra, and would just take it through a car wash regardless of micro scratches. A car enthusiast isn't going to risk someone inexperienced scratching their paint just to save an hour. Who would use the service?

. I'm building one right now, I'm not able. I am a newbie. It's way harder than I thought but my brother is a Mazda mechanic so he's been my hero. I can drive just lack the building part. It's harder than it seems, but I've had hours where its just me building ( things I know I can) and that alone makes me feel so accomplished. Then my brother comes and inspects or just gets busy without me being able to stop him. We're about 50 percent done with a rb25dett exocet.

I'm ao glad you got a chance to do this one, Matt; this is what I want to do with my Miata when I get the spare change. One thing to note is that you can pay a little bit more for the version with a roll cage built in, which comes with a couple extra goodies, as well as a little bit more torsional rigidity. Also, the kit is built to accomodate an LS drivetrain as-is. :)

Yes, and I'm currently at 3.3lbs/HP in my Exocet with the Ls3 which is plain nutty. Geoff is running mild boost pressures too, Xp3/xp4 ran the same Flyin MIATA turbo kit with whp going north of 300hp.. Coming from a guy with a cam'd v8 Exocet, going the turbo route on the 1.6/1.8 MIATA motor is arguably the better way to go. Waaaaay cheaper too...

I'm building one of these in my garage as we speak! Just connected the subframes to the exocet chassis. Super excited about this project. Mine won't have a turbo but hopefully it comes half as good as this one! I'm tracking the build on my YT channel, I have vids in there that I'm trying to upload once a week. Stas G. That would epic. Especially if you were able to get the transmission in there too. Honda really does make the best manual gearboxes. Would sound way better than the one in the video too. I said K24 because they make a kit to put a K24 in a miata and it just makes a lot of sense to put one in this car. Also 300whp 240lb-ft.

I've been trying Settle on which kit car to go with and I think this ones it. I like that it isn't changing the layout of the donor car to much. Also theres so much more out there on the miatas platform
