I'm based in Melbourne and have been into the car scene for 20 years now, I've seen drifting come and go I've seen Silvia's and skylines go from being worth $40k down to $4k and now back up to $40k for a Rough example, I sold new cars for Nissan for 14 years and its safe to say I have NISSAN BLOOD running through my veins yet here I am being unable to afford the cars I once had which has turned me to becoming a "HONDA BOI" I have to say they are great cars I love learning about them and lets face it value for money they are ridiculously fast!

You don't need to swap the whole harness to an OBD1. Many companies make OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harnesses that just plug into the OBD2 harness and into a OBD1 ECU. Make running Hondata easy.

They are a great shape cheaper than a hatch better brakes interior instruments front sway bar provisions for a rear seat bar heaps of room inside longer wheelbase the same as a crv 😉

i have the d16y4 but it’s so hard finding parts for it in the U.S especially the Distributor! i haven’t put it in yet i’m just debating on it since there isn’t a lot of research on them online

I can get the dizzy here from any where, they are quite common, you can use y5 & y8 parts in them

Nice build bro! Could you maybe orient the turbo outlet downward facing so you don't have to remove the stock air conditioning?? I'm looking at doing the same with a bunch of spare parts. R33 HKS 2530 (genuine disco potato) , 76mm radiator, have a few spare BOV's,.. air fittings etc.. was thinking of reusing a r33 fuel pump as well.. just leaves the injectors and a FPR..

Couldn't You have simply made a jumper harness to connect stock harness to a p28 plug... Or cut the plug off and wire in a p28 plug. Im sure the sensors are the same if not similar probably even same wire color. You dont need hondata, You coulda simply got a chipped ecu and burned chips or got a Ostrich for a couple hundred bucks to be able to tune it very cheaply.. Nothing wrong with haltech its just you had other options.

Nah mate it’s all to hard not just a matter of jumper harnesses with the junk ecu we get here, I am working on an ecu that will plug and play for the rest of Australia though should be out soon

Im curious how the replica turbo is doing after some time. was it worth or is it a waste of money? should be getting a real garrett? Also are there any parts you wished you weren't cheap on? I wanna do a turbo build so the info would really help 🙏

It’s with sm motorsport wiring, haltech australia also have my map with the pinout on it so you can use that also, thanks for watching, if the car is na you will be fine but could also use a loom and ecu from another car, I wouldn’t bother turboing it they don’t love timing my advice would be keep it na or if you are turboing it, don’t build the motor just bolt a turbo on and make sure the air fuel ratio is good, I have a 1st gen d16y8 built turbo in my shop now and it’s running a link ecu I have that ecu and that loom for sale if you are interested

Turbo manifold or intake manifold? I’m Running a t2 log manifold nothing special it was $100 on eBay, the one with no wastegate outlet as I run an internal wastegate and a t2871 turbo
