The questions are only stupid to those who do not understand what his job is. He needs to qualify who was present, how close they got, whether or not they touched the body, whether any of them may have discarded a cigarette nearby that may have their DNA on it (same for the can beverages), and of course they are going to try and see if they were consuming alcohol because that is probably the most important question after whether or not they touched the body. All the defense has to do is create "reasonable doubt" in the mind of a juror. If the defense attorney doesn't do his job thoroughly, the tax payers may have to pay for another trial later. That is rarely beneficial for the community and if further traumatizing to the family and loved ones of the victim, and sometimes to those people who found her body.

@@st421 I called a few weeks later to find out cause of death (because I walk in the woods in that area and wanted to know if a murderer was on the loose). I was told "natural causes." However I am skeptical. I can't fathom the position of his body with a natural event. He was flat on his back with his arms outstretched and feet together (somewhat like Jesus on a crucifix). I can't picture someone dying from a heart attack, brain aneurism, hypothermia, etc. laying or falling in that position. He looked more like someone had dragged him into the woods under his arms and then let go. I maintain that spot in the woods to honor where his spirit left and I found his glasses there. How thorough an investigation did they do to not find his glasses? They were right there. The investigation took place at night (I found him in the late afternoon). Sooo...I dunno...I'm not convinced it was natural. But I was very relieved to find out he was identified and returned to his family. He was likely homeless but I'll never know how he ended up there (just off a farm field in the edge of the woods). Totally bizarre and sad experience. 😞

The question regarding drinking was more than likely to establish that he was sober and therefore his recollection should be accurate. The question regarding touching the body pertains to the potential for contamination of the crime scene. I'm under the impression that a cigarette butt may have been discovered, and the question regarding smoking is to eliminate him as the smoker and source of any potential forensic evidence obtained from a potential cigarette butt. A lot of the other questions seem to pertain to establishing a timeline and whether or not the potential crime scene was visible from the access road.

I found my ex husband (he had passed away) and the cops acted like I was the one who had did it. I politely checked them and let them know that I had asked for their help with him several times that week (called the cops to do welfare checks on him, he was suicidal, they said he was fine and I've done all I could do to help) but as soon as they got there, they acted like I was the one who had ended his life... anyways, when I'm feeling really low, them implying that I would do such a thing likes to bring me even lower. Not that it's anyone's job to soothe me but i feel like some empathy or something should be involved during or after you have received all your information. I'm so sorry for your loss & traumatic experience 😔 Where I live in Florida, cops r just as bad. I called every day & night, for 6 weeks straight, BEGGING them to come do a welfare check/ retrieve a body, bc I knew my good friend, who lived next door to me, was inside dead. I'd spent weeks, up til then, trying to get her help, or baker acted, but blocked every step, bc I was not "family", but I knew she was suicidal, & now nobody's been able to contact her for days. I explained all the circumstances, so they know y it was so serious & urgent, but they wouldn't come! After several days, they said they'd come arrest me, if I didn't stop calling & wasting their time! After 3 weeks, finally, a deputy arrived to arrest me, but when he saw how pregnant I was, said it's an official last warning, & that he looked in her windows & saw moving boxes, so obviously we were just not as good of friends as I thought, since she's simply moved and did not want tell me, bc she probably thought I was annoying, if I called her as much as I had called the cops about her 😡! I knew that was BS, bc her house was sealed professionally weeks earlier, & u couldn't c in at all.... I'd been trying to look through every window, nearly 24/7, for 3 weeks- it was literally impossible to see in, anywhere! He filled report with his lies, while I kept calling. End result, was them coming out after six weeks, to arrest me… Me asking them to wait and let me break her window first, then they could arrest me for breaking and entering. She (corporal) called her supervisor and then told me that if I was willing to pay for the window they break, that they would break it, so it would not risk injuring my baby. I instantly agreed, & the moment they broke her window, the death smell blanketed the neighborhood. In this 6 weeks, they'd threatened to arrest me countless times, bc I wouldn't quit calling! They also said things like I was a terrible friend, for thinking she was suicidal, and not getting her help that she needed beforehand, if I truly believed she was dead in that house... then STILL wouldn't do a welfare check! None of them were reprimanded! Meanwhile, in the following weeks, despite it clearly being suicide right away, I was treated as if I'd killed her myself, including deputies calling & coming to my house repeatedly, instead of having spent 6 weeks trying to get them to get her body- 1 of the most traumatic incidents I've experienced, in my adult life, & I'm STILL so unbelievably hurt, by it, with the constant reminder, every time I walk outside & c her house🙁 The cops took a terrible situation, & turned it into a catastrophic 1😥

The issue of the Creator's Universal Sovereignty (His right to determine what is good and what is bad for mankind) has taken over 6000 years to near completion. False religion has mislead the masses away from the True God Jehovah and His Kingdom Government with Christ Jesus as its rightfully appointed King. Since 1914 the human race has been living in the time of the end. Jesus's composite signs he talked about in Matthew 24, Luke 21 are here and worsening each day as it draws near. The fact that you think an ANTISOCIAL personality....aka a predator....would ever choose to be a gentleman frightens me (for your own safety). People with Antisocial Personality Disorder or even Narcissistic Personality Disorder (trump, jeffrey epstein, kevin spacey, harvey weinstein, bill cosby) feel entitled to take whatever they want, even when it's not theirs. They believe the rules and laws of society and the social contract apply to everyone else BUT them. You have MUCH to learn if you think narcissists and antisocial are going to "choose" to be gentlemen when they are BOTH entitled and lacking in empathy for others PLUS believe rules and laws of society and the social contract apply to everyone else BUT them. Animals in nature kill and hunt each other all the time, nature isn't some peaceful harmonious thing, people in the comments acting like because he was turkey hunting he basically has the same morality as the murderer. People can be so judgmental. Hunting is in our nature, it's not like animals that aren't hunted are going to have happy little lives, they're just going to get killed and eaten by some other predator.

The defense was just doing his job of cross examination of the witness. The defense attorney is a young guy, probably just starting his career. Re: Stupid defense questions: I thought the same myself, but when a defense strongly suspects their client is guilty, they have to be thorough, otherwise the defense can be accused afterwards of not doing their best for the defendant, and the whole rigmarole of appeals begins. Also, when someone is that guilty, a thorough defense examination can actually help the prosecution.....the extra defense questioning actually strengthened the credibility of that witness.
@breeford16103 жыл бұрын
@Andrew G. Carvill That’s what I said on another comment. Defense attorney is not a job I would want. They have to be thorough and defend the client efficiently, otherwise convictions could get overturned in appeals. However, it must feel amazing when they help someone who is innocent win their case. Like, could you imagine the awesome feeling of these attorneys fighting a case an free an innocent defendant who has been rotting in a cell. Must feel amazing.

@BootyFish2 жыл бұрын
she’s grieving the loss of her son, her perception of him, and he’s going to prison forever. Denial is a stage of grief. It’s not fair for people to judge her harshly while she’s still in that stage. She seems like a good mother, sometimes people are just evil no matter how they were raised. She needs time to accept what’s happened and what her son did. he’s made her a victim as well. Murderers victimize everyone around them. those who find the body, those who loved the deceased, those who loved the murderer, everyone suffers because of them, which is why he deserves to be held in isolation for the rest of his life. In a straight jacket for so long his arm muscles atrophy.
