I'd love too see more reviews of the tisas 10mm 1911. I'd definitely upgrade some parts but they seem solid

I got a Girsan untouchable with the 3.25" barrel in 9mm. Runs smooth and no ftf or fte. Trigger is crisp but a tad heavy. After I get 4 or 500 rounds through it I'll decide if I want to adjust the spring.

Probably a good idea to give it a few hundred before you make changes so you know the in and the out of the pistol
@OzzieMozzie7776 ай бұрын
I just got the untouchable mc1911c in 9mm, there is a small bit of movement between the slide and frame but no rattling when I shake the gun. Feels very smooth, more so than a Rock Island Armory does out of the box
@Conklikov6 ай бұрын
The untouchable looks nice. The funny thing is I got one rock island that is tight as heck. I think the big thing is these cheaper 1911 manufacturers have a wide range of tolerances that are acceptable to them. So some are tight some are looser. Idk barrel lockup seem most important to me. I had an sig 320 that was looser than any of my 1911s and shot great. I guess it depends on needs. Competition it for sure matters, self defense and plinking not at all. Reliability is most important, and as we have learned with the ak , loose sends bullets down range

I have both, I find the Girsans have a heavier gritter trigger then the Tisas which is why I prefer their triggers. Both will shoot good but if I had to choose, I would choose the Tisas as a better product.
@Conklikov29 күн бұрын
I have to agree with you on that. Tisas just does a better job, I assume there just a more mature manufacturer

I own and have owned many 1911 type pistols,cheap and expensive. I had a Tisas many years ago. It functioned ok and it was fairly accurate. It was not very good. I bought a Girsan MC 2 years ago. I paid a little over $500 for a commander size 9mm 1911 with a remote. It is one of the best built 1911's I've had. The one I got is better fitted than any R.I.A. or any of the Ruger 1911's that I have had. So with several hundred rounds through it,it has been flawless. I must have got one built on a good day.
@Conklikov2 ай бұрын
Ironically my tightest fit 1911 I own is a rock island stainless steel. And my samples is swapped tisas was tighter and built better than my Girsan a bit. I think that is common place with the cheaper 1911s more variability and less consistency. One may be tight one may be loose.

Back around Christmas, I spotted a Girsan MC1911S Gov't size for $450, after shipping and transfer fees. Couldn't really pass up on that deal. 300 rounds in and plenty of dry fire in for the M45A1 CQBP clone, it's a great gun. If you want something to abuse and run through the wringer and back, this is the way to go. It should be noted that for that great price, one does give up some refinement. It has loosened up and the slide action is buttery smooth. The slide does rattle like a maraca, but hey if ya don't mind, that's just more of the real combat-pistol experience. I've small hands, and while the factory grips were fine, I did switch them out for some slimmer magpuls. Some have complained on the 1911 forums of the MC1911 shooting low, but with those combat sights, a higher sight combat sight hold should be used, and it shoots a 3" circle at 10 yards for me, and I'm a shit pistol shot. If one is used to aiming with a lower sight hold, Dawson Precision has a solution for that. The extractor was a little too loose-I was getting some stove-piping in the first 150 rounds-so I learned how to tune that extractor a bit tighter, via youtube in 5 minutes. The finish is not something that will hold up; it'll get scratched, rubbed, worn down, etc. pretty easily around the corners and will look like a battle-worn pistol in no time. But, hey, I don't care if I drop it in the dirt, bang it on a corner, you name it, the thing is FUNCTIONALLY fantastic. Post 200-round break-in-down to the cwhispy trigger break-in spirit, it's combat 1911, made to be affordable. If you're still reading and wondering how it's so cheap and don't mind a mini-micro-economics lesson: The Purchasing Power Parity conversion factor between Turkey and The US, according to The World Bank is 4.61 (2022). Short version: Your US $ goes far in Turkey, a fellow NATO country (and their Beretta 92 clone is also NATO approved). Girsan makes more than decent guns, especially for the money. And your significant other won't be as angry for spending as much money.

tisas is imported by sds ,im sure you know they are basically the same 1991s just branded differently

Oh ya I’m sorry if I misspoke or something, but yes sds is in charge of the importation

You talking tisas and Girsan being different the. Yes absolutely Girsan Is imported by European American armory(eaa). Sds and tisas are hooked up for imports but have nothing to do with girsan

Tisas is better of the 2. I got a used Girsan 4.25” used for $200. Complete garbage. Needed chamber and feed ramp polished. Replaced every spring with Wilson combat spring set and had to polish the rails. Now it finally functions reliably. If I paid more than $200 I would have been more annoyed. Basically I ended up with someone else’s problem child
@backyardsman93888 ай бұрын
I looked at both. Like you say, the Tisas has tighter rail/slide fit. I think they do a better job with the finish, too. What really turned me off to Girsan is that "Waring Read Safety Manual" they put on their pistols. Come on, Girsan... really??? All 3 of my Tisas look and run great - Stingray Carry in 9mm is my favorite.
@Conklikov7 ай бұрын
Ya no doubt tisas is the supreme Turkish 1911 player.
@andreawhalen41422 ай бұрын
I own both and as a custom pistol builder i can tell you the girsans are machined closer to the higher end 1911s, they require less fitment work, that being said i took my tisas stingray carry and did a bul barrel conversion that goes round for round with very expensive 1911s
@plantguy10010 күн бұрын
Any thoughts on The Girsan, higher end Tisas Br9 or the stainless steel Rock Island you reviewed? The Tisas comes with two mags, the other two with only one mag. Is there much difference in build quality and accuracy? Many folks dispute that accuracy varies much among guns, but clearly we all know some guns just shoot more accurately for us out of the box.
@Conklikov9 күн бұрын
The stainless rock island is very tightly fit few of the parts on it are chrome plated and look/ feel very cheap. But the rest of the gun is rock solid. The Tisas does a better job I think with overall finish and packaging. Girsan was quite loose but wasn’t terrible. That said if I were to only get one I’d probably go for the Tisas. They just seem to be putting a little bit more effort into everything they do. Followed closely by rock island. In terms of accuracy there wasn’t much of a discernible difference.

I got my girsan for $415 definitely worth it I got it in the black finish, which hasn’t scratched or anything because I keep my guns nice and the finish looks pretty decent I wanted to just get a 1911 to have one. It shoots flawlessly. But what’s weird about mine It’s a little tighter than what he was showing and I got mine a month ago so I don’t know if they fixed that or maybe his is just not tight from factory
@Conklikov6 ай бұрын
Ya idk I mean I like the finish on mine, the looseness could be a result of a wide quality tolerance range, ie : some come loose some are tight, and there can be. Bunch of examples in between. That said it can be loose and shoot very good. Accuracy is only factor I can think of where it would be better to be tighter.

I guess I judge weapons a little differently than most. I recently bought a Tisas and had some questions about it so I called Tisas. No one ever answered so I left messages 3 times. Never received a response. I emailed them 2 times without a response. I finally emailed the parent company in turkey after which I received a response. Sold the gun immediately. If your support is so bad what does it say about your product!
@Conklikov2 ай бұрын
I agree with you I mean a gun is only good if it’s backed by excellent support. But idk I feel like all the Turkish gun makers are kind of aloof. They have to go through multiple people in terms of importation and not everyone along that chain cares about the long term outcome of the company they are selling. Where as a company like glock or ruger cares through and through on the out come of the sale. One question, what was the question you had for the dealer if you don’t mind?
@flattailbob2 ай бұрын
@@Conklikov to be honest once I sold the Stingray I forgot all about it. Interesting fact… I just talked to my gunsmith just yesterday and he had nothing but glowing remarks about Tisas but he admitted he never dealt with the US distributor he only dealt with Turkey and they were very responsive to his needs.

EAA Girsan has the worst customer service in the industry. First of all they require you to send a gun that requires warranty work through a registered FFL. Secondly they are sending the gun back to the FFL. Both times transfer and postage is required to be paid by the gun owner. And even when you send them pictures of their broken gun, they are not owning up to fixing it. My 1911 from Girsan came with misaligned sights. In addition, the firing pin plate at the back of the slide would come loose preventing the gun from cycling. That led in my case to an unwanted discharge on the range! Girsan basically told me to FO even after I sent them pictures of the malfunction. Worst CS in the industry. My gun smith fixed the gun for a fraction of the cost I would have paid for using a FFL to send the gun. Shame on EAA Girsan!

Wish I could say this is the first I have heard something like this. I mean Girsan is trying, but they seem to be struggling with qc. Tisas is running a much tighter ship i think
