Purple Basil Sherbet (Reyhan Şerbeti in Turkish) is a very refreshing, healthy Turkish drink we make specially during Ramadan for Iftar Menus. It has no food coloring, has it's natural color and aromatic taste and it is very easy to make. Sure to be a good alternative for store bought summer drinks.
I would be happy if you share your recipe photos with me from my Instagram of Facebook account @turkishfoodrecipes_
To make Purple Basil Sherbet Drink you will need:
half bunch of purple basil leaves
half cup sugar (you may add more depend on your preference)
half lemon slices
half tsp of citric acid
about 1 cup boiled water (let it rest for 30 seconds before you pour over)
ice cubes and more cold water as needed
HERE IS ANOTHER REFRESHING HEALTHY DRINK: Turkish Minty Yogurt Drink, AYRAN • Minty Yogurt Drink / A...

I have so much purple basil growing in my garden, I can't wait to try this. I use the purple basil in watermelon juice (I blend the fruit with some ice cubes and basil leaves) and it adds a delicious flavor to it, I imagine this must be amazing.

Hello again. That is nice i love to watch and read anything about food and history of food too. Although don't have much time as i wish. And it is hard to find to true story of the history of a recipe or origin of their name. Do you have any suggestion any website tv shows on internet or books about it . So i can check when i am making new video. Also i am very happy about apple cookies recipe that it was success for you. It is one of my favorite. Thanks for your support. Best regards

Hello sister, Thank you for teaching us how to make the purple basil sherbet. Mine is not as pretty as yours, but the taste is lovely. It is refreshing on a hot summer day. I didn't have citric acid, but next time, I will add it. I don't think that all markets carry it here in California. Thank you for your beautiful channel that I love so much.
