Outstanding, imaginative work, excellently done! I didn't think it would take long for the solder on the exhaust pipes to melt though.
@jblbassslayer31082 жыл бұрын
It is a vapor type carburator so the heat that comes from it isn't as strong as a flame torch, that took a pretty long time to melt the solder, if it would be that hot, the cooper would turn black in a short ammount of use time and then would corrode

The pickle jar atomization chamber was really cool see work that well! Honestly, three pistons, a crank and a crank case and you would have made an entire engine! What I would love to see is a large home built hit and miss engine!! That is a technology that could be useful in poorer countries with limited parts and machining abilities and they are simple to maintain. What would you use for the large flywheel, a tractor tire filled with concrete? A large home made wood wheel with lead slugs to balance it?

I dont know if you changes the inlet and outlet ports but it seems by moving then a fraction it proved to be sucsessful, i bet you are very pleased. Now all thats left is to get rid of the smoke with clearly is just too much oil about in the chamber. Well done i was pleased very much to see it fire up and run smoothly.

Could you turn one of these small pumps into a Diesel engine by any chance?
@ethancoy92372 жыл бұрын
not likely, diesel engines require rather high compression ratios, much higher than any petrol engine, the connecting rods (at least put together like this engine was) would be to fragile to handle that, the construction of the engine would have to be far, far better than this one for that to happen, if you could get it to run it likely wouldn't last for very long due to the stress on the components
