In finnish winter weather and with proper winter tyres I find the offroad mode a total game changer. Car feels much more stable overall and I can also take the corners with much greater speed and also little slides are also much more fun

Tesla short changes itself, trying to chase diminishing returns 'efficiency' at the expense of comfort/customizability. I like my car and am totally ok with losing some 'efficiency' in exchange for (i) fun, (ii) comfort and now (iii) more safety. Thank you for all your hard work and for giving us Tesla owners back a voice/choice in tailoring our ride to our preferences. Your team got me to keep my Tesla with Regen, as I used to get nausea with the enforced default that feels like the handbrake is always on...and never enjoy that nice satisfying feeling of 'coasting' (in Canada, they never gave back the native Regen control options). Then you made my car fun with the drift mode. And now you're making it safer? You are AWESOME!

I have plugged the 2 harness " in serie ", but in this configuration the commander seems to be not working. Can you do a video showing us how a AWD Model Y performs under these 3 conditions on snow/icy road: 1) Stock no features engaged, 2) Slip Start engaged, 3) S3XY Offroad mode engaged. This will clearly show us the differences to help us make an informed decision.

I just found this product, WOW, exactly what I have been looking for as I build my Model 3 (2021) Overland project. I’m installing a 2” lift kit and All Terrain Tyres and this will be the icing on the cake. I just discovered the S3XY KNOBin your store and OMG, what a game changer! But the ‘Off Road’ mode is what sold it to me because my Model 3 can’t access that. Combining that with the ability to reduce regen braking will make snow, mud & sand much better.

Great news! I don’t know why this option is removed natively for model 3. Also, I just purchased and waiting for it, and I’m not sure if it’s already possible, but I have a request. I prefer driving in standard mode, but when starting at a traffic light, the acceleration can be too strong for passengers if not taking care enough. It would be very nice if you could add a feature to begin in chill mode and then switch back to standard after we start driving. I understand if this isn’t the right place for requests, but I wanted to share this thought here

Hi there. We actually have a feature that you might find useful. We call it Kickdown. Your car drives in chill, until you press the pedal on 90%+ then it shifts to Standard/Sport. Once you decide to go back to chill, just press on the brake pedal 😊

Hi, I have a question (and yes, I am a happy owner of your super useful S3XY buttons!): what is the difference between this off-road mode and the mode (normally selectable from the Telsa-Tablet) called "Slip Start"? I'm just curious, especially since I don't have much chance to try both this one that Tesla AWD offers and the off-road mode that S3XY unlocks (unless I drive for more than 1 hour in the mountains and set out to find a place with snow and mud...). It seems like off road mode not only disables traction control (allow wheels to spin without cutting too much power), but also balances the torque between front and rear motors.

This is a really good question. The main difference is that Slip Start does not transfer power to the front motor , as the Off Road mode does. So it is still acts like a mainly RWD car with some front motor discharge 😊

Is it impossible to enable Off-road mode on SR RWD models? It seems like it also alters traction control algorithms, maybe even using ABS to slow down spinning wheels? That would be extremely helpful for SR owners. I would go and buy the SEXY kit right away!

To be honest, when you activate it in SR model, it still stays that it is on, but we have not tested if that’s a bug, or it does something to it

@@EnhanceAuto-S3XY_Gadgets maybe you or someone with an SR could test the feature? Whether there is any improvement on slippery hill starts such as the one in video. This would be a killer feature for those slippery cases in winter especially for a RWD car!

Can you confirm that the same goes for regen breaking? The regen braking normally just use the rear motor. But in snow mode or off-road mode thr front motor is also activated for regen breaking?

That would be a interesting detail to know! Read several accounts of regen that is too aggressive in snow, being the underlying problem causing a accident on ice and snow. Admittedly it is usually all season tires, and Not a good winter tire, but there is a issue there with the way regen is activated in low traction scenarios. And IIRC, regen is Very dominantly biased to the rear motor as it more efficiently harvests KE. If there were a mode that favored traction over both axles on slick surfaces over optimized regen, that would be a Very welcomed feature to be able to invoke!

@@101rotarypowerit's good to change drive mode to chill on snow and ice, regen is more gentle. Also, when wheel slip is detected, winter mode should activate in background and discharge and charge both motors in quite equal way.

Yes. Regen works the same as the performance of the motors. Both of them regen with the same amount

Maybe they were just trying to sell more model Ys , and that is why they left this feature for those models , but removed it from the model 3s

Hello, Is it possible for you to create a new feature that the emergency lane departure avoidance will be automatically disabled on every start? - at the moment it will set itself to active after every ride.. pretty annoying due to the fact that I am driving on a lot of narrow roads..

A couple questions: I have a 2023 Model Y LR. 1. Does the Gen 2 commander, used in the new S3XY knob, use the port in the passenger door sill, or the one behind the center console? 2. Can the harness be used with an existing pigtail? I already have a rear screen plugged into the rear connector, and a mini display plugged into the passenger door sill connector.

You can plug the Commander at rather if the 2 locations. It comes with both cables , so you can choose which one to use. If you have other accessories, you can daisy chain them with our harness and use them all together
