Turning pain into power is the essence of Stoicism. Challenges aren’t the end-they’re opportunities to grow stronger and wiser. This video is a powerful reminder to embrace hardship as a path to resilience.

The situation I'm going through, you're going through, we all are going through is not a problem at all but how we tackle them and use them (for the betterment or to grief on it)that is.

My ex wife had cancer and brutal treatments in our 30s. She survived but that 3 year crucible tested me, forged me. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Now 69 and third year of my paleo journey. Fit, appetite control and no Rxs or pain. 💪🙏

My immune system is weak, probably because of stress and I always get sick every 2 months. How should I see something positive in being sick, where I can‘t do anything productive, for at least 1 week (while being in university, that‘s a long time, you miss all the lectures and can‘t do the homework. Have fun teaching everything yourself with limited sources). On top I don‘t feel good, because I always get some sort of tonsillitis. What do I gain for me personally when I‘m sick, because you mentioned illness at the beginning, I just want to see some meaning in this, so I‘m not completely negative about it

I don’t believe in coincidence, so I have to believe that I was meant to read your comment. Why are you surprised that you get sick every 2 months when your expectations are that you will? You say that the root cause is probably stress but in reality, the cause is your fear of becoming sick again and of ultimately staying that way for the rest of your life. Fear that you have a weak immune system. Why are you surprised that your immune system is weak when you have spoken that into existence, telling yourself and others that this is so. Fear of the next time that you become sick. What if I become sick again, what if it is during XYZ event, what if I stay sick this time, what if I am never well again? You tell yourself these things and are surprised that your body believes you? Stop telling yourself that you have some physical flaw that is causing these “illnesses”. Stop checking yourself for symptoms. Stop expecting to become sick. Stop fearing that you will remain sick forever this time. Stop not doing things because you don’t feel well. This coddling of your fears will lead to chronic pain and a miserable life. If that doesn’t sound fun to you… Start telling yourself there is nothing wrong with my immune system. So, what if I get sick again? I may feel off today, but I am going to do the thing I had planned anyway. Oh, that thing hurts… so what, it is temporary, and I will pay it zero attention. If your body believed all the things that you told it about being sick, why would it now not believe all the things that you tell it about being well? Good luck kiddo. Signed, I Speak From Experience

Dr King said if the Lord allowed him to live in any time in the history of earth, he'd choose during the civil rights movement: "Now that's a strange statement to make, because the world is all messed up. The nation is sick. Trouble is in the land; confusion all around. That's a strange statement. But I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough can you see the stars. And I see God working in this period of the twentieth century in a way that men, in some strange way, are responding."
