Thank your Rosa! I been working as Spanish OPI interpreter for 6 months. I love it! My training is in medical but I have found that the majority of companies out source to a very diverse number of industries. This makes it very overwhelming as a new interpreter. I would like to find a company that only serves medical calls but those are very hard to come by. I’ve recently been offeeed a contract with a company that receives government calls for immigration cases. Although this sounds like an exciting and good opportunity I am a little nervous and feel like I might be spreading my self too thin trying to learn legal terminology when I’m still working on my medical terminology. I just wanted to vent. But if you have any suggestions those would be appreciated as well. BTW thanks for your channel. It has been so helpful!

Hi Heidi, These are totally valid points! While it's great to push ourselves to advance our careers, it's wise to take things a little slower if we need to. One common pitfall that tends to lead to failure is trying to bite more than you can chew. When you feel good and ready, more opportunities will be available. The immigration crisis is a long-term problem, so the need for interpreters will likely remain or even increase in the foreseeable future. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I got a job recently as an interpreter I love it, it's challenging, the pay here in CR is outrageous though, $5 per hour, but it's worth it to get experience and build more vocabulary
