you could fix the grief-y parts of the mod by making regular rain clean off any ink exposed to the sky. and for ink thats covered, maybe you could use splash water bottles? that could also be a pvp thing, you can fight inklings by splashing the ground they're in with water and forcing them up, maybe giving their dive a cooldown or something

Absolutely love this mod. It may not contain much, but it’s not the quantity, but rather the quality which makes something great. And this sure as hell has amazing quality. Just love how everything looks. The folly red eclipse is probably one of my new favourite form of the sun and moon. The colours just fit so well together. It’s mesmerising.

It's not supposed to be a big mod with entirely new playstyle like Mischief(which I consider as Rat's personal crowning jewel so far, that mod is glorious). Defile is basically just him coding a cool ultimate ability for himself and Lux to use against Blake, and then deciding that it's cool enough to polish and release for everyone to enjoy :D

Hi. I like this mod a lot. This is a VERY fun mod. Number one thing I think could help overall usability and make the mod less griefy, might even be simple to implement; ink decay. People have suggested using normal rain to wash away ink, which is fair, but what if you're in a desert where it can't rain? Or in a tundra where it's snow instead? Simple, add a config that sets a timer on how long ink lasts outside of the Black Rain. Maybe the default could be five minutes, about how long the Inkling form lasts, with an option to shorten or lengthen the timer, alongside simply toggling Decay at all. I could imagine people playing an entire modpack where the focus is being an Inkling with a really short decay timer, or making a friendly PVP arena that cleans itself up if anyone goes in as an Inkling for the next match. There's a TON you can do with it! It's exciting!! Awesome job rat!!!

no way rat made a mod about my favourite game, maybe if i pray hard enough the mod will make me better at ACTUAL splatoon also, as for a way to make the mod less grief-y, maybe you could code something similar to the bucket that you used to dunk mouthpiece in ink, this time as a counter-grief option, like make a variant of it called "Absorber Bucket" or something By default, you can use it to throw water particles that will soak up and delete any ink that they come into contact with and if you want, as an added bonus, if the Ink Eclipse is active, the bucket could instead spread ink

I love this mod, it looks _insanely_ sick, I'm sure bendy would love it too. Also I got a 2 suggestions: 1. the ink on the water could maybe look a little diluted, or maybe the texture of the ink could have holes in it where it doesn't cover the water. 2. Once there is a normal rain, the rain will clear off the ink, pretty much ungriefing a lot of the world. (I know this wont work on plants and stuff, but it still might be useful. Although, there might be a better way to clear off the ink, because ink can be placed on water, so it doesnt make much sense for the rain to clear off the ink.) Also, a name fore the eclipse coudl be a "ink moon" or "inked moon" kinda similar to a blood moon.

Honestly if you wanted to add more to the ink you could make it act more like ferrofluid, where if you added something magnetic you can make the ink go all spikey and become a weapon, NileRed made a video making his own version of ferrofluid and his came out looking more spikey and in contact with the magnet it acted like smooth ink when on paper, this it purely a suggestion if you wanted to make it more like a weapon.

Wish I had the cash to be a supporter, especially considering I rewrote one of my characters to incorporate the ink and it'd be cool as hell to actually USE what I've been enjoying the vibe of. (Didn't help it really fit him in the first place lmao) I kinda doubt you'll see this, but I'll talk about it in the first place; it could be neat for a way to use the funeral ink in more ritualistic stuff, playing into an occult theme. The mod would work well for a fun infection type game, with the Black Sun constantly out, and players are stuck with the effigy in their off hand, so if they die they become infected as a squid, and then proceed to hunt and turn everyone else into a squid. I'd also say a game like this would work well with hard core, which would leave either side with one way to win, kill the opposing side.
