Turning SPLATOON Characters Into POKEMON

As a fakemon designer, I can come up with some new names: Inkling line: Skwid (Squid + Kid) Brushqwid (Brush + Squid) Caliharmy (Calimari + Harm + Army. It also just sounds silly, like most of the franchise) I'd also change it to Water - Fighting to give a super effective and weak type against the octoling's Fire - Psychic type, reflecting their rivalry. For the Octoling line: Pyrocto (Pyro + Octoling) Emocto (Emo + Octoling) Pyroyaki (Pyro + Takoyaki)

If you wanna complete the evolutionary trio, may I suggest a grass type salmonid line? It could also play into the rivalries and bonds since in universe while inklings fight salmonids, octarians supply them with weapons in exchange for power eggs! Also since salmonids produce green "ink" that could help incorporate the grass typing!

One thing I would maybe say is having their heads be bigger. As in the actual games, they have way bigger heads compared to humans. Also in Pokémon, there’s quite a bit or exaggeration with certain body parts

I can imagine inkrush would be found in water areas and they would swim around like an inking swimming through ink, only visible through their trail in the water and the ink they splash up, before jumping out to surprise you and start a battle.

i think a cool gimmick to give the Squidaddle line would be to have them use different weapons depending on their stats, so maybe Special attack could be a Charger, Attack a Roller or Shooter, and Speed a Brush

"Oh wow no ones ever done Splatoon x Pokémon before I guess" was very funny to me because I actually have my own set of lines all based on Deep Cut, with a sort of Zero to Hero gimmick like Palafin. This was a very cool video though! Great designs! My only recommendation is making the brush more monochrome so it doesn't clash with the Squidaddle line's colors so much. If you do decide to make a part two I'll be glad to see it! (also I know I didn't provide proof I made these Deep Cut designs but I don't wanna put my socials in the comment section of somebody elses video obviously, so just trust me)

Hmm, I would Make the Soul of an Inkling, into a Pokémon itself, It Generates an Ink-like Substance that it Can Control and Manifest a Bigger Body. And other Objects. It Absorbs anything it Finds Interesting and Copies it's Data. They're all Mute, So they Have To Use Their Creativity to Communicate. They Also HATE being inside a Pokeball. So it will Take a TRUE Bond to Train one. This Pokémon Would Not Evolve The Normal way, The Creature Would Only Evolve its Abilities. The Ink Substance could Be Lit up and Be Controllable Fire. The Ink Can Heal, Poison, Spark Electricity, And So much More.

Goin off what everyone in the comments is sayin, id like to pitch in and suggest maybe giving them abilities too to push the designs concept wise. Like for Cephalobind you could give them a fighting type version of "steel worker", maybe something called Combat Experience which just gives it stab with fighting type moves [or just normal steel worker if it becomes a Figthing / Water type. While Medollusk can get an ability like prankster or something that gives its psychic type attacks a 10% chance to burn? [also, stupid idea but if you wanted a grass starter, you could look to the jellyfish for them since jellyfish are arguably more common than inklings or octolings and combining them with something like seagrass or the bacteria in ink that removes it from stages could be cool]

I hadn't thought of this! I really like your designs! Just one thing i think could be explored- what if the pokemon come with MULTIPLE color variants? It's purely for aesthetic reasons, but it would make sense considering how they play in-game. And with that in mind, the shiny could keep the same ink color, but maybe inverting the black and white (non-eye) elements? I think that could be really cool! Anyway, i really like your designs. I just think adding that thing about the colors could be an easy way to make them stand out even more! Maybe you could include in their pokedex entries that Cephalobind of the same colors tend to team up for fun battles against others as a sport! Or maybe that they _can_ change color for those types of battles and then go back to their normal coloration? Aaaanhgjghhh i just really like your concept....... Waaaahhhhgggghh

I came up with some alternate final stages for your Pokemon, known respectively as Inkidal and Octidal. The names are derived from Inkling and Octoling, as well as Tidal and Idol. I think you know where I'm going with this. Inkidal has four forms, and Octidal has three: 1: Pink Style Inkidal (Callie), a Water/Dark type that evolves from a female Inkrush holding Black Glasses. It's cheerful, bubbly personality makes it a popular companion, but its airheaded behavior can lead it astray, leading to some Pink Inkidal being easily influenced by delinquent behavior. 2: Green Style Inkidal (Marie), a Water/Fighting type that evolves from a female Inkrush holding a Utility Umbrella. This variant of Inkidal is often found alongside Pink style variants, as they get along very well. In rare cases, when they do end up having a squabble among themselves, the Green variant is always the one to resolve the conflict. These two variants will also come running when trouble strikes in their area. 3: White Style Inkidal (Pearl), a Water/Fairy type that evolves from a female Inkrush holding a King's Rock. This variant is energetic and hotheaded, but also kind and protective of those it cares about. When threatened, it emits an ear-splitting wail that can disorient even the most powerful of foes. 4: Black Style Octidal (Marina), a Fire/Electric type that evolves from a female Octeen holding an Upgrade. It's a kindhearted and intelligent Pokemon, coming up with creative solutions to the problems of people and Pokemon, but they sometimes backfire. They are frequently found alongside White Style Inkidal, and observations have revealed that if a pair is seperated, they will do whatever it takes to reunite. As a result, in some regions, White Inkidal and Black Octidal are seen as a symbol of unyielding love, especially in the LGBT community. 5: Teal Style Octidal (Acht/dedf1sh), a Fire/Ghost type that evolves from a female Octeen holding a Dubious Disc. Very little is known about this variant, as it has only been sighted a few times. These Pokemon wander lonely beaches at night, humming wistful tunes. This has led some to believe that Teal Octidal are the souls of Octeen who met a tragic fate in their final minutes. Nonetheless, they are intelligent and resourceful, getting along well with their Black cousins as well as White Inkidal. 6: Yellow Style Inkidal (Frye), a Water/Psychic type that evolves from a female Inkrush holding a Deep Sea Scale. This Pokemon is energetic and playful, but also mischievous and easily offended. It appears to have a connection to Eelektross, as it can perform a sort of dance to bring them under its command. 7: Blue Style Octidal (Shiver), a Fire/Dragon type that evolves from a female Octeen holding a Deep Sea Tooth. Its suave, elegant demeanor has stolen the hearts of many. It appears to have some connection to Sharpedo, as it can call one to its side with a special cry. Some of these Octidal have even been observed riding on their backs. It's often found alongside Yellow Inkidal and Mantine, as the three get along amazingly well. However, these Pokemon always get into trouble, with some of them even causing chaos with loud singing and crazed dancing, flinging colorful ink everywhere as they do so. Sorry this was so long. Question, i know from the comments that you're planning on remaking the octoddle line into grass types, may i make the suggestion to reference the octarian soldiers by having the tentacles be detached from the main bodyand controlable via psychic energy so they can keep the psychic typing (or maybe a psychic control of plants to avoid potential body horror) Also, my suggestion for the replacement fire starter would be to combine the salmonids with the colors of the fuzzy ink to make fire-poison feesh. Or ...you could just ignore me and make something cool, ur good at that. In any case, can't wait to see what you cook up next, see you then!

my only complaint is that you didn't make the octo and inkling fakemon lines water/poison type as with toxic mist and how they react when on enemy ink(a slow and obviously uncomfortable decrease in their "health") it fits more that typing such as water/steel and fire/psychic. however take this with a grain of salt as i am not the one designing the fakemon and as such unless i make my own(I may do this. if i do i would love your opinion on my own fakemon, especially because i agree with the whole "Why has this not been done? I must fix this" thing) but I digress, keep up the amazing content and I loved the designs you made! also what about a salmonid line for the third type? as it is a fact that salmonids actively trade with octarians and are hunted by inkings though some octolings have joined in on hunts as well. They already have an evolution line of sort smallfry->Chum->Chohock

I guess I’m not the only one any more I made some starters based around recent made Ips that Nintendo made for a Pokémon region (grass was pikmin and fire was arms and finally water was splatoon (ie the inklings) (I haven’t made the octolings yet tho) and compared to mine and yours it’s obviously different in our own lore and etc.) also 0:12 technically yes but yours is different from Trugreen7.

I don't like the typings that were used, I feel like the inkling line should have ended as a water fighting type and the octoling line should have ended as a poison steel. that and for the design of the inkling line, I think the baby stage is fine, but the middle stage should have had a normal brush or a broom or a mop, and the final stage should have had a carbon roller or big swig. (changing that based on the shiny could be a fun idea too.)

Design Idear for Mr Bear: You could distinguish him more from other bear-pokemon by leaning more on the slime-stain parts of the design. Like a Grimer or Muk, being not fully fur but also drooping slime. I hope its helpful.
