I drove my boss 87 GN 100% stock less 235 60 15 rear tires. This car is the reason I bought a 2016 F150 2.7 ecoboost. I could not afford a GN when I was 16. I love a v6 that will suck the air out of a v8. I love the sound of a GN. I wish my F165 turbos made some noise.

I had same problem when i upgraded 6262 precision turbo with terry Houston down pipe. I would call them and explain wat u have on car . I will look for that part # when I get home. Love these vids. Thanks to much boost.

I would call precision because that might b a stock size wastegate.

Both look like hd actuators..I would leave old one and install manual.boost controler

Can you just drill the rivets outta the old one and bolt the new one to the old modified bracket

don't get hung on "boost numbers"..... boost is just a measure of restriction [back pressure].... you can have very fast cars running on "lower boost numbers" because their engines are much more efficient at evacuating cylinders and exhaust... also it looks like you already had a HD adjustable waste gate..... mounting problems could be because you ordered the wrong waste gate ... they are Compressor Cover specific... are you sure you got right part for your compressor cover? There are E, S, T, H, TA.. etc.. .... just get a Manual boost controller first.... you can also just shorten that WG rod first and see how much boost you get.

You have to clock the turbo alil bit downwards soo the bolt holes cam line up and the long part of the actuator bracket has to be bent soo it doesn’t hit the the t-bolt clamp to the coupler. I’ll send you a pic

Looks like your old actuator is same as mine just keep turning the adjustment rod clockwise I’ve no issues running 25psi I know it’ll go higher but I don’t have engine for it

Did you ever see the guys that have that CO2 boost controller bottle in there GN, they say there super accurate and easy to change your boost 1 pound at a time if you need to. Did you ever see or hear about that setup and if so can you explain it to me. When I had my GN I had the same boost actuator controller as you with the black knobb to turn it up or down in my car under my dash and I would have to be floored in drive 3rd gear to see how much boost I was putting out and then turn the knobb while being floored to change the boost up or down and it sucked I never got a accurate reading, they stated every 1 click either way would be a pound of boost gained or dropped and it never ever worked right. How about yours.

Weld the waste gate shut and put an external wastewater on the pipe/ header/exhaust housing wherever you have room

Make it into an external wastegate turbo instead of a internal wastegate turbo
