Hey Tanya and Dave! Cool that you guys are in Cambridge/Boston. We both have never been there before, except for plane layover! LOL That's cool you had a train car all to yourselves. Harvard Square seems like a really cool place. The city definitely has that old rustic "settlers" feeling and Victorian edge. Butters grew up in New Brunswick Canada, and a lot of the architecture is similar. The Peabody Museum looks like a great place to go, we always love Museums! Your lobster roll and clam chowder looks amazing! Nothing like fresh lobster on the East Coast!! That's cool that Daves mom makes a really good clam chowder! Maybe you guys can vlog that recipe someday! That little cat was too cute, we love cats!!! Even though we don't own one.. our neighbors cat visits us!! LOL Great video and lots of love to you both!

I grew up in that area of Harvard University, Somerville, Boston, etc. In the 1940's and 50's........The Peabody museum was our favorite hangout on weekends and rainy days......It was free in those days but now I understand it costs 15 bucks to see all the stuffed animals, etc.,etc........ I've been away from that area for 60 years and now the houses in that area are selling for 1, 2, 3 million dollars......

We have never been to Boston!! Already loving that you can move around easily with the train. I (Maria) would go nuts on that bookstore. Always try to find a good bookstore where I go. I'm a fan of oyster crackers myself. I'm down for that soup and sandwich. Very cool vibes in this city, especially the area with street art and galleries. Fun tour guys.

Finally a local takes you off the beaten trail to see what locals see. I lived in Central Square, near Union Square and near Inman Square. I Loved Cambridge and loved the red line. I even lived near Ashmont Station in the 90s, not so safe back then! Please tell me about Austin, we are considering it as a possible move from New Jersey. Very disappointed in what’s happened to Harvard though. Au bon pain, out of town new, the tasty. Not very unique anymore. Sad.

This is a very good Cambridge video. Here are some Boston tips from a local 1. Don't drive, parking is horrible (see #10) 2. Boston Common is pretty, but boring 3. Visit during the fall 4. Mike's and Modern (pastry shops) are tourist traps. You can get a cannoli at a number of places in the North End without a line, try Bova instead. 5. Our bars close by 2am 6. Don't attempt the accent (no one likes a fake Boston accent) 7. It's not the Boston from the movies 8. If you want to do a tour, try a Pedicab 9. Never buy Sox tickets in advance, buy online day of game. 10. Bike is the best way to get around town, but can be dangerous if you're not used to city riding 11. Follow Boston Dan on all social media

Thx for an awesome list Boston Dan! I’m coming up next weekend; have I missed the peak of the fall foliage??? Also, any specific recommend for the weekend? I’ve never been and I’m a southern that’s coming up for the first time! 🙂

If you people were around in the 1940's and early 50's like I was, you could have gone to the Woolworths Dept. store lunch counter and ordered Bacon and Eggs and a pancake and coffee for 95 cents. My mom took me many times when we were out shopping.

We are flying to Boston in May from Kentucky. Not renting a car. Would y’all suggest an area of Boston best for hotel or Airbnb safe and easy to walk to public transportation? Thanks!!
@TurnItUpWorld3 жыл бұрын
May is a great time of year to visit Boston! Boston has many really nice and safe areas but we would recommend finding a hotel near the Public Gardens (Back Bay area) to enjoy the spring flowers in the gardens.
@STMARTIN0093 жыл бұрын
@@TurnItUpWorld I disagree as it is a little less expensive to get a hotel near the common. Try the theater district instead or possibly in the Fenway area. I have been the beneficiary of good deals at the Marriott Hotel in the theater district and Hotel Buckminster during the summer months.
