They are some really good QoL addons for the game. I love the classic/vanilla mechanics and play style a lot. But I do like having things handy sorted and easier. Glad you are loving it. I am wrapping up some Dragonflight stuff and planning to start grinding away full time at Turtle wow again.

TBF i only play turtle and vanilla+ because my PC can't run ffxiv anymore but honestly? These servers are the best current wow experiences available, definetly better than retail

I had a lot of fun with FF and will get back into it. I agreed these are the two better vanilla servers. Turtle with a little edge just because I fell into the community over here really well :)

Some servers also set the configuration files to read only. I don't think this is the case with turtle wow. But that is also another culprit with settings on private clients.

I've seen that when troubleshooting other things. I noticed at times this will happen with files for ADDONS too. Good to keep in mind. Thank you :)

Thanks a lot! I've been hardcore player since the challenge started. I kind of backed off for the past year due to some irl stuff. Been looking to get back and i heard about this for the longest and i never knew how much there was in TutleWoW! I love the races and survival tree! I'm all about that. My only question is about the marcos! How fo macros work here? Like on Classic WoW? Or is it the super long vanilla macros?? Thank you! Also, did you ever get Bartender to work?? Huge addon for me haha

Bartender works, but during early wow bartender was a huge project just to get set up. It wasn't as friendly nor did it have the great UI that we are used to now. I found using pfui a lot easier and cleaner. Also thank you so much, I am glad you enjoyed. They have most all questions about macros on their main forums as well as addons and other settings you might need to know.

They ever gonna do class changes on Turtlewow? Everything else about it makes me want to try

They had done some light ones, crusader strike for paladin and a few others. But the major class changes are till in the 'upcoming' patch. I think they just want to make sure the changes are balanced and no bugs. That way it doesn't end up like vanilla + where every mob/instance/enemy in the game has to be reworked just to make up for the class changes which just piles on scripting lag and slows down how fast they can work on new additional content.

Do u need omni cc if u use pfui? Pfui already shows you all your cooldowns or am i missing somthing?

Correct. I had timers disabled in PFUI because I have been trying out a new UI each night until I find the one I like most. Because of that OmniCC is still my cooldown counter across the board. Out of the UI's I have used so far PFUI is amazing. Will probably be the one I use permanently.

@@MazePerception pfui was a game changer for me. You need almost no additional addons if you use pfui and it looks great and the game doesn't look like a 20 years old game.

This doesnt seem to work anymore sadly. I've been trying everything with 2560x1440p monitor without succes. The resolution keeps chaning back to 1600x800 do you have any tips?

Yeah let me look into it. I actually haven't been over there since last I did some raiding on my mage. Was actually just getting ready to update and get back into turtle wow. I'll post if I see anything that has been changed with this issue.

No that would be up to the devs to put in. I've seen some people asking or working on patches that would be seen only on the players end but nothing that i've found that would work. The Dev team is currently trying to finish up a class rework patch followed by a content update. I don't think it is something they would get to until after that. They also add their own npc's through out the world so they would have to update all of them as well. At least I believe they would.

There's someone working on HD models. If you go to the forums (not discord), then community and after that the modding sub-section you should find a thread called Turtle HD. It's a WIP though.

I only have a "data" and "interface" folder I downloaded the client from their site

the file tree should go 'turtle_client_116' and then 'interface' and in there you should find the 'addons' folder. When you download the client there should already be files in there. Things like a few 'blizzard' ui and skills things 'LFT' and 'TurtleMenagerie'

Hi! Do wod models work? And is easy to do all content? Like BRD, UBRD, MC… etc? Im gonna level a tank but still not decided coz balance class patch

Turtle WoW adds in their own npcs to the game so things like that may affect things. I know lots of people have asked if wrath or cata or wod models work, but I honestly don't know the answer to that. I recommend joining the discord and asking in there. As for content its the gear treadmill. Get your bis pre raids from the lv 50 to 60 dungeons. Then UBRS - MC/ZG - AQ - BWL and so on. Just farm gear run instances and you will be fine.

You cannot use auctioneer. On their forums they have two alternatives you can use for auction house addons

sorry to bother again Maze, ive been tring to figure out pfUI and have been spending all my time trying to set it up to just end p not getting what i want haha could you share your pfUI profile so i could import it? ive been looking for pfUI profiles online but cant find a single one. I tried playing without pfUI and its been so frustrating not beong able to play haha

are you making sure the .toc file is in the very first level after your interface folder. It should go something like (what ever you put turtle wow into) - Interface - Addons - pfui. directly inside the pfui folder you should see a file called pfui.toc. If for some reason there is another folder fist inside the pfui folder, that leads to the toc and lua files the addons will not work. All the files for the addon and folders must be directly in that first pfui folder.

Pff man I played ff14 quit for a month came back and all my hotkeys where reset... I have a 80blm fishing and some mid lvls lost all my hot keys no way to get them back so now I'm playing free wow because 15$ a month for old content doesn't work for me

I can do that. There will be some in there that you won't need if you use pfui. They are more for the classic ui that I also had tried out.

When and if you do it is really something you should try out. And if you like it maybe even jump into Blizzard retail and see how you like that as well. WoW will always be something I love even if I no longer like the current product.

I have the wc3ui in my addons just not activated lol. I've tried pf/shagu/wc3ui and I really do like all three. The addition of Move anything is really nice.

Server is broken. Could excuse the typical glitches of various gathering nodes spawning in trees, rocks, etc, but to have glitches that enables you for pvp, without even showing that you're flagged, is a pathetic joke. Never have I experienced that on any server, let alone one with permadeath. The team behind WoWTurtle is unbelievably incompetent. 0/69

I've only been flagged for pvp if I buy the glyph or aid someone already flagged. So luckily ive never seen a pvp flag glitch on my three characters leveled over there. That would be a horrible glitch and can understand not being pleased when/if that happened. And more so if your trying to level while doing the hardcore perma death.

I don't like this server... The community is very toxic and the gms for some reason don't throw out the toxic ones but if you say something they come to you to say that you are. They kind of remind me of RIOT and all those trashy companies haha. I do not recommend playing there. I have never seen such lousy GMs on any private server. It's a shame, at the beginning years ago they weren't like that and the community was clean, but they got bigger with the increase in players

I play with a group of friends so we only jump into random groups now and then when we need an extra person or two. Because of that I've not had many bad run ins at all, at least not yet. I have heard though a lot of issues with being banned and people all around being jerks. But I am used to that with online game communities overall
