When I started making my bucilla stockings there was no such thing as the internet. And now due to the internet I see other's ideas and I love this!

That’s how it was for me too. I started in 1996. I bought embroidery books from the bookstore. That’s how I learned 🙂

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I used it on my first stocking kit, which I just finished and it looks so nice thanks to the lining. I’m a novice sewist but your instructions are simple and clear so even I could do it. Thank you so much.

I am ready to line my latest stocking so I revisited your helpful video. So glad I did! I had forgotten about folding down the top edge. I would have been crushed if I had ruined my perfect fat quarter. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos and many helpful ideas!!!

I use 4lb Crystal Fireline to sew 99% of my stockings. The line is clear and disappears into the felt. I never see the line unless my stitches are too big. Changing threads is no usually necessary. The other thing I do is use #11 Miyuki Delica beads - silver lined - in the colors the sequins are. The clear beads supplied are not good - broken and a lot of them drilled too small for a beading needle to go through. I love the dressed up hang tag you do! Imma steal that idea! 🙂

The lining protects the knots and long stitches from getting broken. I have been doing beadwork for more than 50 years, and I ALWAYS use something to protect the knots. If you can, use a Fabri-fix adhesive on your knots before lining the stocking. I like fleece for lining too - it doesn't ravel.

I’ve made so many of these when I was younger. Never lined them 😪…now making a Bucilla stocking for my great grandson. And decided my stitching on the backside needed help…..concealing them. You demonstration is soooooo helpful and your instructions are very easy to follow. TY.

I don’t have a sewing machine, how should I stitch together my lining pieces? Whipstitch?
