[tutorial] How I use BG3 Free Cam Mod + IGCS DoF Connector for Screenshots ♡

Hi, thanks for making this video about my work! :D Some tips: - you can change the speed of movement and use ctrl to slowly move /rotate the camera, which might come in handy :) - instead of rotating the camera 90 degrees and have a neckpain to get the camera properly setup, you can also use hotsampling: select a 9:16 resolution from the tree on the left in the hotsampling tab, one that fits your screen, then setup your shot, and when you're happy with the shot setup, pick a resolution that's much bigger than your monitor, and click 'Set' to switch to that resolution. When the shot is done rendering (if you want to use igcsdof you have to start a new session after hotsampling) you take the shot and you have a much higher resolution shot :) - using a higher quality in igcsdof (use 6 or 7 for the inner ring) will avoid spots in the bokehs :)

Hello! Have you updated to the most recent version? (v.19), with patch 6, some issues came with the free cam tool, but it has been updated a few days ago. If that doesn't fix it, double check your key bindings, as well as what you selected to control it (so keyboard, gamepad or BOTH).

This is such a good tutorial but I’m still confused on how you “select” what gets blurred and what doesn’t. My pictures are ok but the render really blurs the edges of the outfits 😭

it depends on the focus delta x slider! you line it up with the parts that you want in focus. If you find it is TOO blurry, reduce your max bokeh size, if it is not blurry enough, increase it! For close portraits, I use 10-20, for wide scene/full body I do 30-50! Also, with the new version of IGCS, make sure to set it from the new "fast" version to the "classic (slower)" version!

Great tutorial! I don't know why, I've followed the instructions, the installation guides. But when I go into reshade, igcsdof.fx does not as an option to enable in the home tab.. any idea why this would be? 🥺

Hello! Thank you for such a detailed video... everything works for me, only there is one problem... after I turn off the camera my game freezes and I can’t do anything, even go to the main menu.. is this how it should be?

hmm.. no I have not had that happen to me before! are you closing the actual program when you "turn off" the camera? or is it more like when you disable the camera in game (to go back to normal view)?

tysm for this, do you know if theres an option to use your mouse for the camera? Keys feel clunky to me if that makes sense

yeah it is hard to get used to at first... i dont think there is a way to use the mouse fully to move the camera, only to change where it is looking, but not the actual placement of the camera. I recommend maybe re-binding them to your arrow keys or wasd if it helps? cause those are more commonly used for movement stuff

You can use a gamepad controller if you have one, it's much, much easier than using kb&m

yes, you may have to update to the newest version of the camera or reset the game when that happens. I'm not sure why it happens, but resetting will usually fix it.

it's not working for me :( I followed all your keybinds (but idk what the configuration should be..) and anytime I try moving my screen freely after I click 'fn' to control my numpad it freezes and i cant rotate. it like zooms all the way in and I cant rotate my camera, but can only move my character around with my WASD movement. Also when I click 0, it DOES pause it sort of? it sort of looks like it's lagging rather than pausing the cutscene itself.

So my keybinds are custom and not the default! Make sure to check your keybinds in their section. The most important will be "insert camera". With the numpad, the 'unlocked' and 'locked' versions have different functions. So try doing it without hitting 'fn' first. Typically, one will allow you to freely control the camera, while the other will have limited movements, but you can use certain keys to go frame by frame so you can capture exact moments if you wish. With the pausing issue, it does that when characters are talking, otis has not yet found away to completely pause scenes. It should pause normally in other circumstances.

I think it really worth the few dollars because the creator will always fix it right away if there are issues, and it can allow you to do so many things. I have not found a free version that works the same way :( sorry!

@@MoonsongReverb my key binds are different than the default. I believe the default is the “home” key. You can edit these in the key bindings tab of the camera tool.

The thing that I realized was that some kets only react when you have num lock on :) I.e. things like the freeze game only work if you have num lock on THEN press 0
