WOW... instead of just showing how to put 3d shells and get over with it(like almost everybody) you really show how to DO IT in After Effects and in easy way. because of you i now look on AE in a different way. THANK YOU!!!!!!! P.S. And thanks to KriscoartProductions for referring me to your channel.

This looks really good, It´s the best I´ve seen. I just wish you could show us how to create muzzle flashes in brighter situations. It´s much harder to make it look realistic.

Thanks! After Effects really is an amazing program. Also - if you are on a budget, then check out Hit Film, its 100% free and very similar to AE in many ways. Last thing.... its not a biggie, but in future please hold the F-bombs - we try to keep this channel family (all ages) friendly

Sorry about that. Changed the word. In all serious though you earned yourself a subscriber. I've been doing muzzle flashes in final cut and they end up being far less detailed.

very nice vid, however just for realism i would make the shells a matte mettalic gunmetal color due to this being a russian AK. they made their shells in iron instead of brass due to them having abundant iron sources and not too much brass. this gun uses both 7.62-39 and 545-39mm, so next time you make it with a bit older russian gun id make the shells more blacker, you can search it up for reference. anyways great vid👍

Hi, how long does it take to make this for 1 shot? Basically the question is if it's feasible to make it for 100-200 shots in a short movie without spending 3 months on creating the effect.

ColeMiner2424 - the silenced gun uses the same techniques in the tutorial. You basically leave off the muzzle flash, or you can use an orange solid and mask it with a small circular, feathered mask to create a slight glow at the tip of the barrel. Its really that simple. Also - silenced weapons tend to look better with a lot less smoke.

@IndependentVFX10 жыл бұрын
You can buy royalty free sound effects from some websites that sell individual sound effects. Otherwise you can buy a whole gun sound effects pack (but they are expensive) from a website like Sound-Ideas.

can you do realistic gun tracers effects. It's one of the hardest I think.
@IndependentVFX8 жыл бұрын
great suggestion! We will definitely cover that one in the near future!
@ashishhembrom39058 жыл бұрын
Thanks. And also instead of the usual types I see in youtube videos and movies, can you do the crazy realistic ones, they show in video games like call of duty and battlefield. The bullet tracers follow a straight trajectory but not a near perfect one like how they show in movies. That'd be helpful a thousand times. Thanks.

13:50 how do you make the bullet shell actually move from the AK to out of the screen?
@IndependentVFX11 жыл бұрын
@HersheyZ- you can move it using the move tool (activate by pushing V on your keyboard) or select it form the toolbox. Its the mouse pointer/arrow icon. Or you can also move a layer using the transform properties in the timeline.

Great tutorial, but I think the smoke looks a bit iffy, it needs to be more complex and "smoke like." Just looks a bit static to me.
@IndependentVFX9 жыл бұрын
Uncle Benja Im sure real smoke or 3D simulated smoke would look better, but its not bad for an entirely After Effects generated effect
