Worked perfectly, was able to sell my 5 tons of stolen liquor in two nearby systems and got the invite from the Dweller after I logged off and on again. Thanks CMDR!

I ended up paying him 1.2 mil. Let me explain. For some odd reason, black Hyde was hostile to me even though I had the invite. So it was marked red but I thought "that can't be right. I'll try anyways" (I fly an aspX gutted without a shield for jump range) Needless to say, I got blown up by 2 laser blasts. At first I was mad, but then I noticed that my rebuy would place me... On black Hyde. All's well that ends well I guess.

Here in July 2019, the method of acquiring stolen cargo you describe does not seem to work. Taking a delivery mission and then abandoning it does not yield stolen goods, even if you load them into inventory first from the source station. So i just scanned a convoy wake point, let the convoy get attacked, scooped up some cargo which was marked stolen. I did have to log out and back in for the fifth black market transaction to register properly and then the dweller became available.

Word of warning! Associated bugs from 2017 still in effect: Black market stuff may not show progress. (Relog or jump to a new system fixes) On approach to the base you may marked as hostile and be shot at! (Make sure you pay all your fines and bounties first, get rid of any extra explicit cargo, and approach slowly!) i just docked in a black market station, accepted a delivery mission, loaded the cargo, abandoned the mission, the goods are marked as stolen in my cargo. but now when i open the blakc market, they don't appear in the sell list... edit: apparently you can't sell thinks to a black market in the same station that you stole them... perhaps undock redock might even work

Thanks for posting this one. I was looking how to get this done . I have 1 out of 5 done , but I couldnt remember how I had done it . I was doing illegal black box missions to get the permit for Alioth and along the way I was picking up all the other canisters and trying to sell them in stations since they are marked as stolen . This is far quicker though

Have been thinking of trying to unlock the Dweller so I can mod my P.D to G5, since my new Krait's using only Energy Weapons. However, I'm kind of "scared" of Smuggling because of that if the security ships do make a complete scan, I'll get ripped in secs. But I'm not sure if it'll only cause me to have a large fine, which would've resulted in a loss instead of profit, IF I were actually smuggling from time to time.

In short don't worry - they won't attack for you having illegal goods, you'll just get a fine. So seriously, it's very easy and it's very unlikely anything will happen. And if it does remember one important thing - it's a video game, you can be physically hurt in any way ;-)

What CMDR Exigeous said. I've never smuggled and did this in 30 mins. Pro tip (borrowing from Exigeous) filter for only outposts, lower security. If you are still worried, run a low emissions PA/Clean thruster build. Safe flying CMDR!

Or you can, pick up the mission, fly to the black market, abandon the mission and sell goods, pick up another mission, rinse and repeat 5 times.

June 2020, mission abandon and sell cargo still works. At first it wasn't registering in the engineer tab but after a little time, it was. Possibly need to relog or wait once you've sold all 5 items

Didn’t work for me. Took survival equipment that was listed as stolen to 5 different market. My stats say 0 commodities smuggled and dweller still locked

Does doing the abanbon a cargo mission method work if you go to a station with a black market, pick up a cargo mission (and 1t of it cause its one black market) and abandon it, then go to the black market and sell the stolen thing then rinse and repeat for other systems with a black market in them? (Not like here where you pick up 5t and go to different black markets like that) Or do you have to actually try and smuggle stuff into a station with a black market for it to count? Edit: No. No it does not, I just tested it. You have to smuggle them, welp, im gonna dread getting this guy, i'm not very good at smuggling.

Every engineer that can modify one of the modules can also add all related experimentals. You don't even need to upgrade to grade 5. You can put on an experimental effect on every completed grade, even grade 1.

Got an error at the blackmarket saying some items cannot be sold at the startport where they were acquired. Might be because I chose a wing mission, not sure

Nope - let me guess - you tried to sell something at the black market in the station where you took and abandoned the mission, right? You can't do that (anymore), a long while back there was a way to abandon missions then sell the cargo back right away for a huge profit. So just head to another station, in the same system even, and you'll be good.

Just illegal - so basically anything you sell on the black market. Log out and back in and it'll likely update.

@@vinigarr801 It eventually worked for me. Make sure the goods are actually in your cargo hold before canceling the mission; I think that was my mistake.

If you do it smart, using things like Dav's Hope and the material traders it's not too bad. I can usually finish a whole ship in about 10 hours total and while that may seem a lot in "Elite Time" it's not bad - if you haven't seen my general engineering video give it a watch.

I unlocked the Dweller and did none of this. I simple took out a target he also had an interest in competing against him, or doing him or his facility wrong. Access granted immediately. Love STELLAR FORGE, not just one way to get the job done so to speak.
