I can’t believe they’re actually making this. She was in several of my favorite episodes on the good wife. And when the good doctor became a hit, I always thought they should’ve made a show about her ! Although I wish it was about her dunking on other lawyers instead of being an investigator

I'm completely spooked to see this because I've just started watching (for the third time) The Good Wife again from beginning to end. I have not thought about the character, Elsbeth, AT ALL apart from when she came up in the series as I'm re-watching it, and despite having watched The Good Wife when it first came out, I have never, ever, ever, EVER thought of the idea of Elsbeth having a spin-off (like Diane, etc, had in The Good Fight). But about 5 days ago, RANDOMLY, after watching an episode she's in, I thought, "they really should do a spin-off of her character as the lead"...and then this trailer "randomly" pops up on my KZbin feed! 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪 How is KZbin reading my mind? And if there's a rational explanation to this coincidence, how comes I've never thought of "this thought" before since 2011 when it came out in the UK. I am SPOOKED....BUT HAPPY!!! Hope we can see it in this country - she is absolutely fabulous!!

​@samanthalyons2250 Elsbeth character appears in both The Good Wife (14 eps from 2010 - 2016) and The Good Fight (5 eps from 2017 - 2022). If you watched both shows (I started watching The Good Fight 1st then went back to watch The Good Wife) then it's not so far-fetched Elsbeth would get a show. I'm really excited she's getting a spin-off because she's a great character. Really glad the GREAT Wendell Pierce (from New Orleans) is in this new show too. Should be a a lot of fun! The reviews have been terrific.

Omg I’ve been waiting for this to be made since my Good Wife binge days. She and Lewis Litt (Suits) and Woo Young-woo are my absolute favourite tv characters. Lewis needs a spin-off btw. I wish they had kept her as a lawyer though. The way she found loop holes in the law and out smarted even the best lawyers in her quirky yet brilliant way was why I loved her so much!

@@crstfrdrnt Love Martha Plimpton as Patti! Same for Michael J. Fox as Atty Louis Canning. The shameless opposing lawyers we love to hate. I totally forgot about the character Mamie Gummer (Meryl Streep's daughter) plays. Yes, she totally played the whole "Your honor, I'm new and don't understand this whole 'lawyering' thing just yet" manipulation game to the hilt. Both The Good Wife & The Good Fight did such a great job with developing main and side/guest characters (likeable, unlikeable and those that blurred the lines in between). I always wanted Eli Gold/Alan Cumming to get a spin-off. I'm elated that it's Elsbeth though because she is such a fun character! Really excited that Wendell Pierce (from New Orleans) is a part of this new show too!

I know a lot of people are saying they are excited but they wish it was a courtroom show. I always thought that her character was suited for mystery. This seems to be a HowCatchEm, where you know who did it and she figures it out but she has to bother him until she can prove it. I think this style of show was made for her!! So excited!

I love this character on the Good Wife/Fight. Don't know if I'll watch more than the first episode of this though. It looks like another one of those copaganda shows where there's a consultant/writer/pyschic/psychologist/professor/forensic anthropologist/mind reader who works with the cops to solve crimes by being able to circumvent the laws the cops are supposed to follow.
