I recently had this problem on my TVS NTORQ 125 BS4. The roads in Bengaluru are quite bad and broken. So, the vehicles get very hard and sharp hits because of the broken hard road surface. I do not purposely abuse the scooter, but unfortunate road conditions here are the cause. The vehicle is pristine and I haven't had any crash or accidents (touch wood). I think treating these incidents like 'Punctured tyres' as you said, is a good way to think about it, but it's a very expensive puncture to be honest! My vehicle is just driven for 2500km in last 1 and half years. I have given it to Authorized Service Centre and I've told them to replace the oil in both the front forks and inspect the oil seal in the good one, so that there's no unbalance after repair. Hopefully they do a satisfactory job.

Hi Ketan, There are quite a few factors that can effect the fork oil seal, a few of which are mentioned in the video. You have to get it replaced, as I did the job at home I can tell the spares will cost you somewhere in between 500-600 for a single fork (including fork oil from TVS). Labour charges will be additional for the job. Do share your experience here 😊

Thanks a lot +Mohnish Patel for the appreciation 😊 1. I have tried Century TVS & Rushabh TVS service, was satisfied with both the service center. 2. Better connect one terminal to the positive electrode of the battery & other one to the negative. If the connection of the charger is made from ignition then you can ground the black wire. More over if any problem had to occur it would have happened by now as electrical failures are quick, unless there is a battery drain.

Hi. I am facing an issue with the steering on my 200. Its been quite a few days like this now. I feel like the front is out of alignment. But, when they checked it at the service centre, they told there is no problem. I feel like the handle is closer to my right hand than left. I am ending up holding the left handlebar on the bar end weight rather than on the actual hand grip. What could the issue be? These service centre people are saying there is no problem but i feel like it is out of alignment when riding. 1) The bike has not fallen anywhere. No accident or anything like that. 2) If i take my hands off the handlebar, the bike still goes almost straight. But i will not be having straight balance. I will feel like i am sitting improperly on the bike 3) Suspension is fine. No problems. Could it be conset issue?

Hi Ajay, Could be the coneset. The handle bar are non adjustable and you said it's not bend. When on main stand you can lift the front wheel and check for alignment. Also check for conset movement.

Hi, Really sad to know about your accident, I hope you are doing fine now. Fork oil has more to do with the damping than lubrication. 20W oil would work or you can stick to TVS branded fork oil (not the KYB G10) as my experience with TVS fork oil has been good 😊

You can go for Motul 5100 10w30. Your second question can't be answered in short but I will still try as a lot of factors are taken in consideration. One of the main factors is tolerance, if your engine has tighter tolerances then it can become difficult for heavy engine oils to reach tighter spots. Other than that the engine design & type of engine also matters as the RPM & thermodynamics of the engine are dependant on it. So as you can see 160, 180 or 200cc the engine oil grade is independent of the engine capacity.

Is this like a very common issue?....Got new RTR 200 last month and completed 1.5k so far on the ODO. No issues faced except some noise that comes from chain (i guess) when riding a pillion. Fuel economy has been awesome as 42kmpl in city and 44kmpl on highway (i don't abuse my bike) here in Pune.

Hi +rishabhchawla, As I said in the video this can happen on any bike with hydraulic telescopic suspension system, it's like a tire puncture. Still busted seal at 4200km or even 9000km feel like premature for me. I use to service the forks of my RTR 180 at every 15-20k km & the seals never gave up.
