Townes was a very special musician and songwriter. The poor man was truly tormented. He died at age 52 from long term alcohol abuse. He played his music right up until the sad end. Thanks Townes Van Zandt for expressing in song the sorrow of humanity.

About 30 years ago a friend gave me this CD & I am forever thankful. The entire album is so tragically beautiful and Where I Lead Me is one of my forever favorite songs.

I absolutely love Townes, named my kitty 🐈‍⬛ after him. We went to a Townes Van Zandt tribut at a local club, so great that young troubadours are keeping his music alive.❤❤❤❤❤❤His voice is sterling on this recording, the way he hits notes, the ache in his voice, oh goodness, he was the shit.
