Here we go again is right. I told you I wasn't going to show the removal of the transmission again but decided I would speed it up and show you anyway. This is hopefully the last time I will have to remove the 4l80e from the gmc sierra. It is now at the transmission shop being looked over. I also sent the circle d torque converter back to be flushed and checked over. We will get this 4l80e swap finished eventually. Fresh rebuild trans is expensive and alot of work but it will be solid no worries. I just got my rebuilt trans back in an hour or so ago. Sucks but will last a very long time with no worries. Plus!!! Warranty!!

Your terminology is just a little off. The converter does not “lockup” in 1st gear. Your issue is very low line pressure causing it to not want to engage the forward or reverse drums. Your converter will only lock in 4th at a programed mph set in the tune. Try not to confuse yourself with incorrect terms. I have an 80e in my fbody and fought tuning issues and if the segment swap didn’t go through correctly you will be stuck in limp mode in which you only get 2nd gear and reverse. Definitely seems like an internal fluid issue but Im interested to see. Thanks for the update
