I would suggest moving the Terran DHC to the far right slot. Reason: Its works best on a damaged target. So it will be last to fire in the cycle on the right.

Hull Image Refractors. Place any level of Aux to Structural on your spam bar. As its a heal, it will trigger the Refractor every time.

I would say Isomags are a budget option now, you can pick up one with a random mod for 100k or less and the re-engineer, if you go for a non phaser damage type they are pretty cheap. Quad cannons all but the polaron can be got from a ship that cost Dil only. Personally i would go with a polaron build with the Morphagenic set and rep items from Lukari and Gamma task force, that will have synergy with the experimental weapon.

@@MACODeltaForce I seen Isomags drop from 1 million for a random mod to 40.000 in a matter of weeks. Now plasma mods are around 1 million and is you go for beams it cheaper still. Phaser mods are still high around 16 million, but isomags are diffinately the budget option now, and if you willing to spend Dil re-engineering them even more so. It 12 million for a lockbox key for 12 million you can get a set of 6 isomags or possibly more depending on damage type.

I like these build videos, but what I'd really like to see is a true budget build for first-year NEW players. I got back into STO last money and don't have access to Tier 6 rep gear, fleet gear (since it takes forever to get promoted from ensign), consoles from event ships from 2022, and 35 million EC to casually drop on items described as costing "next to nothing on the exchange", and so on. We'd need advice on specific T5 ships and mission rewards to get us by until we have access to such equipment, and have teh ability to upgrade ti to Mk XV

Depends on the fleet, I got promoted from after two weeks of casual play grinding fleet marks from the event TFO’s just needed to get about 50,000 on the leaderboard to be promoted to the next rank and get access to fleet provisioned stores

The Valdore console, since you can buy the ship for dil, is also a great survivability console. If you're using the discovery 2 piece for the hull regen the Valdore console will keep your shields topped off to let that hull regen get you back up to max if you get chunked and lose hull somehow.

@MC Stu, both the inertial polaron shunt exp. weapon and inertial supremacy starship trait scale off your potential max speed so you can be at 0 throttle with 200% haste for the IPS( a list of things that scale this is engine power, attack pattern omega, evasive maneuvers and other things that give you more speed like consoles)

A couple of thoughts, first of all, is solo ISA considered a good dps measure? Secondly, I found myself nodding a lot agreeing with you and even taking a few notes. I'm not a new player, but even for me this was a lot of info. very dense. But it is also about as basic as you could get without going into complete newbie mode. That was a reminder to me about how high the learning curve is in this game. I started maybe 3 years ago and for the first 2 months or so, I spent as much time playing the game as I did reading about the game and watching video tutorials about it. Anyways, thanks for this. it is great info I wish I had when I started out.

It is a good hest solo, but it a bit different then a pug run as you will have to build more it to servivability and lose out on some of the damage. So it depend on how to normally play the game. It would not be a good test if you normally play pug, randoms or with a team as it require a different build concept....

The Terran warp core can be a nice core too. Gives a boost to weapon max power and a power boost clicky. The gamma turret is great in a vacuum but... With you running the undine console the phaser turret that comes in that set is probably better.

Yes, 4 isomags (in this case) are equal to 5 spire consoles, so you can definitely go that route. This ship can have up to 6 isomags, if you have it T6X2 upgraded.

I beleive that 4 iso mags is the threshold to toppeling fleet consoles. 4 is equal to 5 and anything after is bonus.

Ironic enough you can get isomags easier than the fleet ones now. I bought a bunch of isomags (cheapest ones on the exchange, even for 50k) and just re-engineered them. With a bit of luck and some dilithium you can get 4 or 5 useful ones and even some of the more sought after ones (i.e. phaser).

Would you keep the two dual heavys over running the quad cannon? The reason I ask is I have all these available to me except I run the radiolytic dual heavy the tt dual heavy the agony the disco torp and the quad. Juat wanted your opinion on the two duals vs 1 dual and the quad. As always thanks for the great content. You've been a massive help. Also.....FIRST COMMENT

While I would love to say use the Quantum Phase three piece if still gathering resources for the Dark Matter (good torpedo + giant phaser beam) it is probably better to put the Prolonged Engagement torp on for the 7.5% BOF cooldown from the two piece and being a wide angle torpedo. Practicality stinks sometimes... I like giant phaser beams.

Can you do a video with the best way to fly this to maximize damage output? I find people overshoot their target, and I find myself reversing a lot (I know reverse affects damage.) Esp. with cannon builds, can you show practical (like a tfo or a patrol) with a "how to fly escorts/csv for damage?

Im curious, ive seen lots of your vids and Augs and Stu1701 and yall like speed in your builds and i see the equipment and traits you use that give bonuses based on speed. My question is, how the heck do you keep an enemy in front of you for the full extent of you scatter folly or whatever weapon mode if your constantly zipping past the enemy? I find myself slowing to a stop or quarter impulse just to make sure i can keep the enemy ahead of me while my attack goes off.

Yo! Wouldn't you get more dps by using the tac consoles from "tilly's set thing" that give + cannon damage but don't go as high as these tac "locators"? You could use 4 engi things that increase your max weapon damage which I think would offset the slightly lower +% to cannons as opposed to a certain damage type in the tac slots. Asking since I haven't seen anyone run it like that or use the +% to cannon/beams tac console that are way easier to aquire than the fleet ones.

Besides bugs, one thing I really dont like about STO is how useless chasing set bonuses is, so many fun sounding consoles but its better to just with +damage ones a lot of times and the amount of useless boff abilities. Really enjoy your vids though.

Hey, are there any tips for upgrading gear efficiently, I find the bottle neck to be the dilithium refinement for boxes to upgrade gear on. I wish they’d increase the dilithium limit so you could at least get two a day 😂

I know oss shuts down one random power. But I thought it was for like 5 secs. Test it. Put on iconian shield and see if it stops

In the traits category why wouldn't you use rendering shots? It seems significantly better than that aux boost.

Maybe if you crit chance is really low, but this build averages 50-60% and the stacks of Rending shots go away every time you get a crit hit. You get more out of aux power configuration even with a low aux power setting with a 2.6% bonus all damage boots (bonus damage = Cat 2). and it is always on....

@@MCStu ok fair, but pulling some crit chance like the undine rom console could let you take like another 20-30 something+ phaser damage console like the quantum phase converter or DOMINO and then you would get the crit chance back with the trait anyway. That would be better than like the 2.5% all damage you're getting off the trait. Especially since we are running basically all phasers. Which taking the disco phaser may have been better than torp... Don't get that either but maybe the damage out classes it... Idk.

Polaron Shunt has to bugged at least in what is displays, I show 120% sitting still and 100% throttle up, yes that's -20% while moving, it does jump to 200% when evasive, etc, also can't tell any difference listening for firing haste in the audio

Lobi Store Console ? That is around 500-600 Million EC of worth. Budget for those who can afford it. :D If you first show the Budget variant and then make suggestions for upgrades on the basic build, i think you would in the green.

Given the bridge officer slots and duty officer slots.... You would be so much better off just running off aux 2 bat. You're literally getting nothing that you wouldn't get from aux to bat for free. Specially since you don't have boy more effect. And you can free up some of your traits dump the tractor beam take a science team and hazard emitters. Then you can run the trait that gives you a bonus for when you use a engineering tactical and science ability. You basically get to run it for free since you're wasting bridge officer slots and you have a tactical officer that's doing nothing.... And your abilities would be up significantly more of the time. You could also run the Terran warp core to get more weapon power boost at survivability isn't an issue. Surprised you didn't bring that one up probably one of the better free Warp cores. I don't know also if the gamma turret is going to be better than the undine one, given that you're going to get the set bonus. And the turret isn't going to do that much anyway.
