Love your humor! Please keep being humorous! Please ignore the neggies! We need more Drs like you two, being informative, caring and funny! Far too many Drs who do not have good bedside manner. I’m sure they’re top notch Drs. I looove baby spinach and beet tops! Apples, can’t digest the peel, so have to peel them then eat the fruit. Peppers, ugh! Lol. 😊❤️🇨🇦. I wash all produce with dish soap and rinse thoroughly. (Except strawberries, etc. just rinse thoroughly and enjoy. Cherries?…at $8.00 per lb, no way!)

Buy some 5gallon grow bags if space limited. Plant bell pepper next to strawberries and watch them both flourish. Key factor, don't over water and don't fertilize until budding. I gleaned 15 peppers off one plant and it's still baring produce. About everything else, i grew or soak then peel before eating when organic isn't available. I love your fruity humor and veggie grateful you share these videos.😁

Love your channel. Two things from a former scientist at US EPA on toxic compounds and pesticides among other things. Pesticides are either topically/surface applied or systemically applied, the later gets into the meat of the fruits and veggies. Insecticides/pesticides are regulated more so now with their half lives restricted and an LD50 high enough where it is not very toxic for food consumption meaning most likely by the time you get the fruit or veggies, the pesticide is long gone. On topical applications the fruits/veggies are washed prior to sending them to market and can be washed at home. However, if they come from a foreign country all bets are off unless they are caught by government inspectors and most are. They used to use insecticides for bug control called parathion that has a 3.6mg/kg dermal Ld50 for humans. If that's the pesticide, you'll get about one bite out of the apple before you go bye-bye. Fortunately, it has been banned along with many others in that toxic range.

@@TalkingWithDocs just remember, herbicides are more prone to cause issues on food than other pesticides and have been more so associated with carcinogenic and mutagenic etiologies. Another notation is the differences between fat soluble pesticides, i.e., DDT, (accumulates in the body with a 20-year half-life) to water-soluble, i.e., (what goes in comes out) 2,4-dichlorophenoxyaceticacid. 2,4-d was once associated with miscarriages, but I proved them wrong years ago. And then there's Agent Orange, or a equal mixture of 2,4-d and 2,4,5-t, the latter being the culprit on that issue being it allows the formation of dioxin to be present during the manufacturing processes. 2,4,5-t has been banned. Most herbicides/insecticides allowed for crop protection are relatively safe today compared to previous years. Their half-lives are relatively small today. So okay to eat your kale for whatever reason anyone would want to. Yuck.

🙌🤗💃 Great list and website thank you. And your humor is organic. Lol I’m quite surprised I would’ve thought celery would be number one because of so much water that’s in it and absorbs. I always buy organic celery and anything else organic where and when I can. My daughter did a research on dried herbs you get at the store and how they can be full of heavy metals and toxins. I try to grow most of my herbs anyways but she really opened my eyes to how bad they were if they’re not organic.

Y'all are great! A couple of decades ago I asked our pesticide sales rep which crop had the most chemical, he said, "Tobacco. There is no way I'd put that stuff in my mouth!". Anecdotally, when people found out I used to farm, I got lots of questions, and those that were the most concerned about pesticides had big appetites for tobacco, and illicit drugs. Go figure. I've had vaccines and prescription drugs make me far sicker than any pesticide.

Hi Docs, thanks so much for this video. I shared with my brother. I also shared with my husband as we split the cost for groceries. I knew about strawberries and celery but not about the other fruits and veggies. Definitely buying organic. Also, I ❤ your humor. Please don’t stop because that keeps us coming back along with your valuable information. Love you guys ❤.

Good afternoon Docs. Dr. Paul slipped a good one in this video about the apple. I grow some vegetables and don't use pesticides . But to feed the world you can't grow 100 percent organic. We couldn't afford it. In north Florida in the winter you can grow things with hardly any pest pressure. Great video y'all hope you all weather is nice blue sky here no clouds & and short sleeve pants had to rub it in lol the y'all have a great evening .

Everyone should have a pesticide free home garden if possible. Children should plant a tree, flower, bush or vegetables with a parent or teacher. That will help connect them to nature and the environment.

Potato's, as well but the 'dirty 13' doesn't have the same kick. With potato's the pesticides are not on the surface, they are through the potato inside and out. Also not to forget, raisins are just dried grapes.

My oncologist friend, Jane Grayson, advised me that, although she’s vegetarian, I should be careful about eating a lot of any one berry or veggie that is supposed to cure cancer. I guess the pesticide is why.
