I’d love to see a video on some of your favorite mid-high range cards in the $30-$100 or $30-$150 range. I’ve been collecting cards nearly my whole life and even I have never spent more than $200 on a single card (most I’ve ever spent is $120). $200+ seems a bit high for most ppl new to the hobby but I know everyone is different and has different discretionary incomes

I built a PSA 4 Base Holo from my original mewtwo and Charizard from when I was a kid and it was extremely rewarding. So fun to engage with the art without breaking the bank.

I’m 35 I was 10 when 1st edition was released. It seems like PSA 4-7 is like the sweet spot for people like me who just enjoy the art/memories and don’t care much about the grade if its in decent condition.

My first single card purchased was the “Mew Tube” card. It’s currently out to be graded. I know it won’t be a 10, probably more around an 8, but I more so just wanted to get it slabbed for safe keeping as a reminder of the first purchase I made

You need to differentiate between collecting and investing. If people only care about collecting then graded cards make no sense, they command a high premium for basically no return. If you want to invest or both collect and invest then graded cards start making a lot more sense but you must be clear with people about the grading, if you're investing in a high end piece getting a 9 or lower doesn't make much sense because it's not going to be very liquid, the demand just isn't there, if someone is spending that much then he might as well spend a bit more for a 10. I don't know how it is for Pokemon, it strangely seems to be the opposite from what I can gather, but in general I would put BGS over PSA. PSA is a less scrupulous company, it grades fakes, doesn't have subgrades and grades higher than BGS. Before buying any expensive card make sure to have the basic knowledge to recognize real and fake cards, never rely solely on "experts", be your own judge.

I haven't picked up 200 card yet but I have picked up a 50 buck shining Jirachi in a psa gem mnt 10. Jirachi is my favorite mythical and I'm so glad it's not extremely expensive 😂😂😂

Not a collector or much in the scene even at all so I'm sorry if this is a silly question haha; Does anyone remember a full art silver and white snow or rain themed card that had a light coloured bipedal pokemon on it, I think the pokemon was just kinda standing there not doing an action pose or anything, Jake pulled it out of a pack recently and I totally forgot to make note of which video it was! But it was a gorgeous card!

May I suggested different videos on high entry level cards but different types for there own separate videos like just ones on supporter card, holos, non holo, IR, SIR and Full arts etc. By the way I have to disagree on the Mewtwo gx for the reasons you mentioned alone were the reason why cos it falls in line with what I'm typically after and funny enough it's my first high end slab 😂 so far because a full art can sometime stand on it's own on already busy display shelf. Plus I'm kinda Mewtwo fan😊 Edit: Though I do agree at that price i guess you can get other ones for better value.

I like this video. There is one high end card I want for my collection. The card that would make my life is Alt Art Umbreon VMAX(Moonbreon), GM Mint PSA 10. If I can acquire that card it would be fantastic. I have The Yunagaba Umbreon in a PSA 10. I also have the original Umbreon VMax in 10 as well. I have the Alt Art Umbreon V in a raw card. I love Umbreon .The Moonbreon is my Dream card.

If the slab is over $250 it'll be authenticated by Ebay before being shipped to you. You see an "Authenticity Guaranteed" on listings with this

One of my favourite cards is a card I don’t even care for. I purchased the espeon VMAX JP promo in PSA 10. Buyee had a 20% off coupon as well so literally a bargain. I saw it before release and I had to have it! I don’t even like eeveelutions. I collect blastoise & Metagross

Love your channel, but videos like this are so strange to me. My advice to any new collectors: If you're not trying to be an "investor bro", simply collect the cards you enjoy. Also, you'll save a ton of money by not falling victim to PSA 10 madness. I've seen several clean, pack-fresh copies that somehow exist in the 7-9 range. If you demand graded cards, CGC (and probably a few other companies) have way nicer slabs. Better yet, seek out nice clean copies and maintain a sweet binder collection. Collecting doesn't always have to be bogged down by investing.
