Bjorn shares a mindset with me, so I watch his content to support him. I live in the woods so if I want to start a fire in the snow and enjoy the trees, I can do it in my back yard, front yard, beside the house, behind the shop, or anywhere within ten square miles of where I live.

@@SweatyFatGuy I’ve lived similarly much of my life and do miss those luxuries now that I live in a tropical climate. I certainly agree with his worldview and mindset, he is a role model for a younger man such as myself.

@@RuralVol yes he is. I have lived in the upper peninsula for the last 16 years. When I wasn't in the military, and living in a city or on an base, I lived and grew up in Nebraska, not nearly as many trees, lakes and rivers as up here. I realized while I was stationed in Frankfurt Germany that I preferred living away from most people, and certainly not in a city. Partly due to my car thing, cities don't like you to have project vehicles sitting around, and partly because I want to have my privacy. for the last 30 years I have wanted to live like I do now, although I want to go back to Nebraska because I can do my car thing there and go racing. Around here, nothing happens like that, but it is very beautiful here.. so I might keep my land here and split my time between the two. I go into town and I feel dirty, not because of the people, just how detached from nature it is, its saccharine, artificial, unnatural. South Carolina was ok while I was stationed there, but living in Charleston was not my preference. Had no choice though. get away from the city and its wonderful again, except for people trying to steal from you. I don't get that up here, everyone knows I am the crazy war vet with all the guns and cars... they don't know I lost my guns in a boating accident on Superior. My Siberian huskies love it here, they are at home in the snow, and watching them play and be happy makes me happy.

Lol theres plenty of cold weather in the US. Not sure why you think it's all sunshine and rainbows over here. Places like Montana and north Dakota have snow year round, and alaska rides the same equatorial lines as Scandinavia. Do your research before you just assume people from the US are naturally weaker than the rest of the world. We aren't. I sleep in 15 degree weather with the windows wide open.

One positive thing from this, scamdemic, this past summer, the bike trail I ride, is busy all the time as compared to 2019. The nature trail I hike near me, same thing, lots of people and whole families, out enjoying a hike, taking in nature and doing something together. I hope the trend continues, regardless of what happens, virus wise. Enjoy spending time with you, virtually, you tend to calm a person and motivate them at the same time.

Hardship breeds ingenuity. People have been thus far framed within a mindset that compels them to stick to one thing they studied for. This doesn't mean life has to be that way, it's simply a norm people got used to that's been shattered by recent events. I've seen people around me reinvent themselves and come up with the most unexpected projects, and it's something that many of us can and should try.

I have the Norwegian Wood book, so I know spruce is good firewood and birch is Norway's most used. :) We have trees of varying kinds on our property, and I want to manage them for firewood. I was looking at chainsaws then reality kicked in (I'm half blind and going totally blind gradually) and realised well, that's probably not the best tool to get. So I am now looking at felling axes. I have small hand axes and varying hand saws, and I use them for now. Fire has to be one of our most comforting, sustaining friends. Being able to light a fire in many conditions is something pretty special. I cook on a solid fuel range, sometimes using coal (which they are getting ready to ban in Ireland) and sometimes wood (they're getting ready to ban that too. How they expect folks to heat their homes or cook if they live in old properties, I don't know) and the range is like a creature. It's temperamental. It has character. Some days it takes an age to really get going, hot enough to boil water or heat the oven. Other days it goes like a furnace and has the advantage that it's hooked up to the hot water system, so that's a bonus. Nothing will return to normal. My husband and I know we will eventually be imprisoned in our own home for good. One small cottage. One small acre. It's enough to feed us and keep us going. I'm working on the rainwater cachement system before I lose my sight totally. Even making my own version of a Berkey water filter (we can't afford the genuine article). Raising egg and meat hens..already I have to give eggs away because they lay more than we can use. I don't mind that. Our aim? To become as far removed from authority....local and state...as humanly possible. I think it's the only way we'll survive. There'll come a time when we go totally off the grid, and that includes the net. In a way, I look forward to it. Life will become narrowed down to essentials...growing and rearing and preserving food, storing water, cooking, living as my ancestors did in the north of Scotland, and finding time for creative pursuits that don't involve having to hook up to the net to pursue. Re scent and animals..my dad was a poacher (for the dinner table). He used to steep his poaching clothing in a bath full of rainwater and pine needles. Before going out he washed down in rainwater. No soap, no shampoo, no aftershave etc. He always brought dinner home. Venison, salmon, pheasant. He wanted a boy, got me, taught me "boy stuff" anyway so I learned to track, hunt, kill, butcher, cook, and tan hides. I taught my husband the hide tanning. This isn't the end of the world. It's only the end of society as we know it. Sensible people will turn the clock back a few generations, learn some old skills, and fend for themselves. And we'll be ok. Believe that. Stay away from technology, which is becoming "the enemy". And we'll be ok.

Your messages r full of corps values and principles and morals which humanity are losing. We r being defeated and wonder why!?! Of course we will lose if we do not uphold our fundamental values and principles we were all founded on in one way or another, I don’t care what continent ones from, it was built upon in the same manner as the others. Exactly. It doesn't matter what conditions may come, all that matters is how we respond to those conditions. We have very little control over most things in life, but the one thing we have 100% control over is our thoughts, our words, and our actions - how we respond to life's conditions and circumstances.

Like the post below by Alex Newton.. I sense something spiritual about your videos... At our core, man is a spiritual creature.. somehow, we connect with nature and each other on another plain... So much of what you say and express is relevant to us all.. I am half a world away from you, living in the United States, yet when you share your thoughts on current events, etc. it is as if you lived next door.. I believe the Almighty is bringing people like us together, perhaps through this medium... for a reason.. Man cannot be ruled by other men... There are many things that we all see coming and they are not good...Men such as us truly need one another, Life as we have known it will never be the same... Thank you for these videos!! I find both strength and solace in them...

14:00 Such a good shot... That feeling being projected, by a fire, hot drink, only the sounds of the birds and wildlife, that peace felt. That's all we ever really want...

You are one my inspirations, Bjorn. The chaos of this year will be a great opportunity to learn bushcraft and escape the madness of the cities

I never noticed how blue your eyes are before. I'm so ready for spring also. My dogs are so ready for spring too. 2 Chihuahuas don't tolerate the cold at 6 lbs each. Talk about cabin fever. As a crafty person, I need to see real coats for these girls..I'm in the states and very concerned about the take down occuring... I for one think weather warfare is very real. Thanks Bjorn. Always a pleasure watching your calm demeanor.
