How'd those wings handle the stress? Amazing. I've seen the U-2 take off with about a 65 deg. trajectory. The pilot was keeping his hours behind the wheel current. This plane reminded me a LOT of the U-2. The U-2 is called "The Dragon Lady" because of it's narrow window of flight. If too fast, then the tail snaps off. Too slow, then the engine stalls.

Having grown up near a glider port,I've often dreamed of such a aircraft. However I was thinking of more if a ram jet set-up. Pull a lever and the nose cone retracts to scoop air in and a ram jet engine somewhere in the fuselage near the tail. They already carry ballast water in the wings. Modify them into fuel tanks for JP5. Seems to me like this would work. With spark ignition from battery and a solar panel or two ,for continuous charging.
