New toy! I call it my Froot Hoop. My friend said I might be surprised by how a hula hoop is packaged and shipped, so I told her I would vlog about opening it when it arrived!!

TwinkieChanTV It's ok...I looked more bruised than a banana when I first started back in 2009! But now I don't get bruises anymore. Get a lighter, thinner hoop and it might feel better for you.

As a hoop maker myself, it was interesting to hear from a buyer's perspective what you were looking for and your shopping experience! HoopMama's is a great company. :) You might want to consider getting a hoop in a similar size but in 100 PSI tubing, it will be lighter and not beat you up as much (I'm assuming you got the 160 PSI since you said beginner). Usually people with smaller frames like yourself prefer the lighter tubing. :) It's still sturdy and heavy compared to those kids hoops you played with, but you won't feel like you're being attacked! Should you have any desire to continue your hoop journey!

Have you ever tried a hoop that is heavy and specifically for beginners! The weight helps so much!

QueenCupcake32 Confession: I don't use my hoop much!!! The fact that it is heavy makes it easier to hoop for a beginner like me, but it also feels too painful!!! My friend says to keep practicing and I'll get used to it... but I don't know how much of a beating I can take :P

Well, for me, I think anything is better than nothing. Then, I guess if you get really into it, you can check out stuff like hoop dancing or rhythmic gymnastics!

LoL That is true! I can barely walk across a room without tripping, lol so I'll stick with the bike thing, but I bet I know a few people that would absolutely love it! My daughter and one of my nieces top that list :)
