Unpopular opinion, 3 was the best one for me. It was a challenge and Specter being a Blue Dodge Viper made me love that car growing up lol. Game was a challenge but that made it better not worse.

This brought back SO MANY MEMORIES. I grew up playing 2, but right around the time 3 came out. I remember finding all the hidden things in the levels, like shooting Big Ben In London, and the UFO level had a hidden wall somewhere. Also, at the time my mom didn't like Rob Zombie, and I discovered you could put the disc in a cd player and listen to the music tracks. It was a hell of a time to be alive.

Monster rancher (don't remember which one, if there was more than one) for the OG PS had a thing that when you were catching a monster, it would go to a cut/ loading scene. If you opened the tray and put in different audio cds or dvds in and then accepted the prompt it would give you more rare and different monsters than you would be able to get with the game it's self. Blew my mind that other games couldn't figure out how to utilize this.

This was one of the greatest games of my childhood. So much fun! Alongside ATV Off-road 2, Burnout 3 Takedown and Jak and Daxter and Parasite Eve. I even listen to the soundtrack every now and then.

I think 3 gets too much hate. While having someno the best levels it also has some of the worst. The Collison physics are weird and the constant flipping over (especially with sweet tooth) is annoying. But I like it a lot. It is still towards the bottom of my ranking of the franchise. But I don't think it's as bad as everyone says it is. Now I hate 4 going back and playing it as a adult. It's ugly as all hell, the characters suck, most th levels suck. Just not good in my opinion.

My brothers and I owned all of the Twisted Metal games, 1,2,3,4,Black---> We loved playing them all of the time. This brings me way back. Twisted Metal 2 is by far my favorite. I used to love using Minion, I had cheats for everything. I even played as Dark Tooth. All i had to do was run into people and they would blow up.

The hate for small brawl makes me sad. I wish it was better too, but I just really like the small scale toy fighting in a normal sized world. Toy Soliders franchise, Small Brawl, Hot Wheels Unleashed. I wish this concept was explored more.

Small Brawl was actually really fun. It just had bad luck by being one of the last games on the ps1, especially since Black came out around the same time on the shiny new PS2 that everyone had to have.

On the PC version of TM2... I think, there's a Santa and penguin you can run over. I enjoy 3 but agree that they should've included pedestrians in some of the levels. Parked cars missing was also a let down. I remember blowing them up in 1 and 2 and they'd have weapons or health hidden inside.

LOVED this game as a kid, I loved the soundtrack, and even though the controls felt much more floaty and slippery, I do have fond memories of using the god mode cheat, picking Club Kid, and just spamming the shit outta my special and sucking everyone into my giant vortex of death.

15:20 It makes sense being that he has minion's powers and the contestants are so close in proximity to him and his powers on the blimp level. I can imagine that he's probably bringing them back from the dead until they die for good in his competition all for his personal amusement. Tm4 said that calypso claims souls of the dead during the tournament. It makes sense when you think about it Didnt mean to get too deep

I know I’m late, but the reason why 3, 4, and Small Brawl are so thematically different is because none of the team from the first two games worked on them due to being bought by GT Interactive. Eventually the original devs formed a new studio and got their baby back for Black onwards

There was a version of Twisted Metal 3 where Egypt has a bridge. Maybe Egypt was a bigger battlefield than the final build version. It would be cool if we can find other build versions of Twisted Metal 3, maybe other levels have cut features

you know, after your last video i played the whole weekend twisted metal 2, 3 and 4 with some friends. i think 3 is still my favorite (nostalgia is strong i guess XD). but yeah controls on 3 and below are a lot worse than 4, and is kinda weird, i dont know if is an emulation thing o what, but i remember when i used to play on the original hardware was kinda easy to control the cars (easier than tw1 or 2), Or maybe i was just super used to it on that times. Since as i said before, this was the first 1st i played and i did it for hundred mb thousand of hours playing with friends before testing the other ones. BTW: you could review Vigilante 8 series too don't know if you played on that time, but i remember i did around the same time i was playing twisted metal games, and i remember the gameplay being pretty similar.

If I remember correctly... They added 'real' physics to how the vehicles moved and I hated it. I really missed being able to turn in the air and boost in a different direction like I could in TM2.

So the enemies have infinite regeneration on the final level until the switches are shut off I never knew that. I had TM2 and one of my cousins had TM3 no wonder why he never got pass the final level when we were kids. I dont think they told us about that in the manual at all. On GOD some 90s games were absolute hell if you didnt know those "secrets" that were hidden in front of you.

I think this was the only TM I played. LOTS of good memories. I think it was actually the first game I got with my PS1 as well. Taking advantage of each levels' unique weapons or whatever was my favorite. The best one, was on the blimp, you can just drive over the edge of that opening slowly, holding your brakes on. Then you just hang off the edge, and the AI just drive over the edge and kill themselves.
