All these so called "senior" engineers have no idea what they are talking about, if sign ups of ANY country or origin drop, there are whole ass metrics, pager duties, alerts and reports automated and manually checked that will ring out, there is absolute NO WAY Twitch C-Suite and relevant ops & program managers would not know if a whole country, or even a decent part of a country is getting no sign ups. I worked as a software dev, engineering manager, tech lead, and product owner, these guys talking about subnets, and AWS are thinking small, there are bigger picture metrics, alerts, dashboards and reports being created automatically, and manually checked. It would require intentional malice, of certain key people to say this is fine, or a huge part of the leadership being incompetent or turning a blind eye to a failure that is happening naturally, and adjusting their KPIs and KGIs. Jira tickets are basically all purpose use for any kind of request - it just logs tickets like any other kind of IT ticket request manager - someone internally could have requested it and a coder did it, a coder could have set one up to get confirmation/approval for it, it could also have logged a link the peer review if they are using a service which can connect to Jiras API (this would most likely be bitbucket but could be other services). You'd have to really investigate the chain of custody of a ticket as well as any notes on the code PR to determine the originator of this change

Palestinian voices are repeatedly censored on all kinds of platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Spotify, Apple Music, etc) and I have never seen Destiny complain about or mention this. For example, the song “Dammi Falastini” (which is about as close to a national anthem as Palestinians have) is currently banned from Apple Music and Spotify, and has been for over a year now. Go listen to the song yourself, and see for yourself if you think the lyrics warrant banning. TLDR Stopping Israelis from making Twitch accounts is crazy, but there is plenty of censorship of pro Palestinian voices in other places that Destiny does not seem to care about or mention.
