Couple notes: 1. There are Ayreon live shows every year or so in the Netherlands based on content from the albums. 2. If you go online you can be the LIVE recordings of these events since you like live work so much. 3. You can get more information about each song , story and opera by simply looking up the Wikipedia article for each album. 4. The Human Equation is usually thought of as the best Ayreon album from an artistic point of view. 5. Listen to this song "Valley of the Queens" from the live version of Into the Electric Castle. It has Floor Jansen as well as Anneke van Gierbergen (another unique and popular vocalist) and Marcela Bovio (an amazing vocalist who fronted a band started by Arjen Lucassen).

Dude, this is not a good example of a 'youthful' Floor. Before this she was the lead singer of After Forever (1997-2009). She became their singer at the incredibly young age of 16 years old! How about that for 'youthful'... There are plenty of performances with After Forever on youtube you can see where Floor is actually really young. Like 19-21 years old. And you can already hear how impressive she was at that age. Mind blowing impressive actually. When After Forever disbanded she plunged into a deep hole. She had put everything she had in that band and now it was gone. She started a new band: Revamp. She wrote all the songs, did all the managing and finances. And gave everything she had on stage. But looking back now you can hear the anger, sadness and most of all desperation in her songwriting and performances from this time. She was a like a rocket burning out and about to crash. Soon after this performance with Revamp she did indeed 'crash' into a total mental and physical burnout. She was unable to do anything for more than a year. And then at her sisters wedding in 2012 a call came from Nightwish. 'Can you fly to the USA and replace our singer for the rest of the tour'? Oh yeah it's the day after tomorrow so you have 48 hours to learn our setlist.... The rest is history. This woman did not come out of nowhere.... She has been the lead singer of metal bands for almost 25 years now.

A bit of story about ReVamp and that era of Floor's career: She started this project after After Forever was disbanded, I think it was sort of a continuation of the After Forever style, not as much symphonic but more progressive hard rock/metal, she was the leader and songwriter. They released 2 albums but at that point she had a burn out and had to stop touring for a while. After that burn out passed she was ready to go back to work but was called by Tuomas (during her sister's wedding lol) to join Nightwish in replacement of their vocalist Annette which was sick while they were touring in USA. As far as I know, Annette didn't agree with that, presumably because Floor was so good that she feared she would stay forever, so they ended up parting ways with her for good. Floor accepted to travel all the way to USA and "learn the setlist in 48 hours" (the title of the famous documentary that recaps the whole situation) and she performed the rest of the tour, including the DVD recording in Wacken 2013. She was shortly after confirmed officially to be the new permanent vocalist, and the rest is history. It's worth noting that she still had a tour with ReVamp pending which she still completed afterwards, in 2014, before disbanding ReVamp. That speaks a lot about her professionalism and commitment with her partners in that band.

I bought my wife 29 red roses in 30 years = happy wife😁👍 I actually followed Floor from she was around 18 - 19, and she really could sing already then. But during her years at the rock academy and musical school, she became versatile like never before and her stage presence became superb. She has been windmilling since she was around 9 and have actually had some fif from a physioterapeut - and later on her training helped her not getting any damage to her neck.

Two minor notes: 1) It was brutally hot during this concert (see what those in the audience are wearing). Floor joined Nightwish in October 2012, however ReVamp ran from 2009 to 2016, so there was quite a bit of overlap. She was still performing live with ReVamp two years after joining Nightwish. Considering that she was also the main songwriter and the band manager for ReVamp, she was pushing her luck for another burnout. This performance of "Misery's No Crime" dates from January 2014, which 16 months after joining Nightwish: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iX-zlqaCe7mhi8k Check out the drastic vocal flip at 1:40. Her growl here is much more developed vs. this Graspop performance. BTW, Floor growls in the live ReVamp performances, but not on the albums, where one of the dudes takes on the task.
