Despite growing up with 4 little sisters, I didn't pay much attention to female drama talk. It was when I first got together with my wife where I learned of this type of talk. For example, we were at a parade, and she complemented some lady on her hat ( I forgot why). After we kept walking, she turned to me and goes, "I just called her a bitch." i wish the show hadn't turned into crap. last two seasons (before charlie left), alan was becoming too much of a loser and it got to the point where the show was imbearable to watch. charlie constantly was so negative and hostile towards alan and every other character just continuously poked fun at each other. no respect from his mother, berta, his son whatsoever. all they did was make alan worse and worse. if you go back earlier on in the show, alan at least had some dignity and balls to stand up for himself and get girls sometimes, but they just made him a complete loser towards the end, and it wasn't even funny! the show even seemed to have a moral structure in the first season and wasn't just a comedy. i liked it before when the characters at least cared for each other in the end, and charlie wasn't completely negative toward alan, and they did get along sometimes.

+harryclarkhulk that being said, you see in this episode, charlie actually supported alan, whereas later, charlie has no respect or care for alan at all, and doesn't care what happens to him. it got tiresome. apart from that, you had jake. he wasn't stupid in the 1st season until like the 18th episode if i remember correctly where he couldn't distinguish what "lower" meant. jake was actually clever. they should have made him a genius instead. dont get me wrong, it was funny for a couple of seasons, but as he grew older, i expected he would at least mature, but not go completely out of character, but they just made him stupider, moreover just a completely, hopeless kid with no future, a loser. shows like these need a balance, difference between alan and charlie was that charlie got things done, even though he was a messed up and disturbed person...but alan was jobless, cheating and lying and...oh god. then once walden showed up, alan completely fulfilled his destiny at being the biggest loser of all time. walden was just half as much of a loser as walden was. two geeks, the show should have changed its name to Two and a Half Losers by that point. but Charlie Sheen is also to blame for that.

Alan and Walden cared deeply for each other.

The show started to suck slowly after S4.

That's the destiny of almost every show. Everything becomes over-exaggerated.

there was too much of the characters harassing each other, showing no care and showing resentment towards another. it got to the point where it was unbearable. it used to be funny when jake was stupid, but then it got to the point where he became hopelessly dumb and it wasn't funny at all. he should have changed. charlie became a little too evil. and alan...what a loser. all they fucking did with the character was make him worse and worse and more of a loser. no one loved him, he had no job, he was always stealing and lying...how can you even root for this character? what was the point? why did the show head for that direction? huge step backwards. he never had the balls to stand up for himself.

The piano underscore throughout the scene was classic.

Charlie’s piano playing sells the scene

This scene perfectly shows how we can offend someone with compliments....

This is probably the ONLY show I've ever seen that makes the mother out to be the villain instead of the usual dead beat dad thing that's so common in any show with a broken marriage and kids
