I agree. In fact, exactly the first 55 episodes were the best of the series. Then Charlie hooked up with Mia and Kandi with Charlie and then Alan, and everything went downhill and then off a cliff when Judith got pregnant with possibly Alan's baby.

Problem is, the whole show was around Charlie. Without Charlie, there is no Alan character. Had walden been some sort of blood relative then there could be some sense why Alan never moved out or why Walden still kept him

I loved the earlier seasons when they clearly showed Charlies way of expressing brotherly love. By wanting him to deal with his inner rage,by having an intervention when he got back together with Judith... they messed up afterward even Alans character
