Plague said it best. Pat’s issue with Wesker just moving fast is that it’s ridiculous (and it is), but the only alternative is that he is straight up TELEPORTING? But he maintains his stance that teleportation is the more reasonable of the two options. Clearly the science-magic that makes wesker move fast is ridiculous, the science-magic that makes him teleport is the only true answer!

I think it's because Wesker seems to move through things when he's going fast. The way the animation looks makes one believe that Wesker is moving in a straight line at first glance, but he's just going quickly around objects (for example, when you shoot at him and Wesker appears to move straight at you even though doing so wouldn't dodge the bullet unless he was teleporting)

We can perceive it properly at the start and end. He stops often. If you're going fast and stop, you have to have slowed down, which would mean we'd have to see him slowing down before he stopped, and we don't. There's also the fact that distance is a product of speed and time, and Wesker doesn't cover the distance that he appears to move in a short enough time to be 'moving so fast you can't see him'. Even if he's going around bullets rather than moving through them in a straight line, he'd have to be doing laps of the room to account for the time he takes, that's just nonsense. And also, if he is just running, he'd have to be noticeably moving his body before he vanishes, the foot has to hit the ground before it can push off. The only ways Wesker makes sense is if he's a) teleporting b) stopping time or c) has some other magical form of external propulsion that lets him boost around for short distances with near infinite acceleration. Of those, only time stop explains why he wouldn't just come back in through the window when Jill originally tackled him out.

Yep, the part where Matt has to mash and climb up is way more tense when Wesker comes up to that part while you have to shoot him to hold him off long enough, then punch the boulder so your partner can escape from him. Then there's the bit where you hold on to him so Sheva can knife his weakpoint which they missed by just shooting him. The fight is pretty cool they somehow just broke it in the beginning and missed it at the end.

When pat says wesker can't be moving really fast, just teleportating, but you can literally slow the video down and see him moving before and after the smoke. Also if he teleported, he'd just teleport back into the plane, or teleport instead of all the times he jumps, which is the exact thing that made pat bring it up anyway.

I don't really want to jump on this bandwagon but.... Hummingbirds. I think of hummingbirds when I look at Wesker's movements. I see them all the time where I live. Their wings move so fast they're nearly invisible, and I've had them flit around so quickly I lose sight of them and have to listen for the sound of their wings beating to find them again. At times I've been incredibly surprised at how far they moved in the split second I couldn't see them. They're also capable of accelerating that fast and stopping on a dime while looking like they've barely moved a muscle. There are certain bugs and insects that can jump so quickly you can't see it, too, like fleas. So that's why I, at least, like to think Wesker is moving extremely fast, like the virus gave all his muscles the same fast-twitch ability a hummingbird has.

I'm pretty sure the RPGs sail through Wesker's head and then explode when they hit the lava. Because a head isn't dense enough to trigger detonation, but lava would be. It's always looked to me like he gets decapitated before being blown up.

The current [Crazy Talk] tally: 1. When asked if the PC version even has coop, Pat says "Yeah, I played it! I did, I did play it in coop!" 2. The mob of enemies that Pat says gives you nothing not only gives you something, it is in fact a unique treasure you cannot get anywhere else in the game. 3. Says everything in the environment can be slashed for ammo. Immediately attempts to slash an indestructible object that gives nothing. 4. Pat attempts to explain his strategy for avoiding damage from enemies that drop from the ceiling in the house, only to eat shit before he even finishes explaining. 5. Pat tells Matt that he has to come with to trigger the boss fight, then proceeds to trigger it without Matt. 6. Pat claims that dogs always hit him. Seconds later a dog is killed by friendly fire from a Molotov throwing majini without even having a chance to hit Pat. 7. Pat claims restarting the mission to find pickups have repopped is "how the golden egg trick works." This is not how the golden egg trick works. It involves giving an item to your partner in the pre mission screen, taking it back from them, and then saving and quitting to abuse how your inventory saves when doing co-op. 8. Pat insists the first thing they should do before grabbing the key at the marketplace is to unlock the door. This in fact makes the sequence much harder as the majini now have an additional entrance to make use of and results in Pat immediately eating shit from the "big boy" that comes through the door and then subsequently setting himself on fire. Leaving the door locked at least temporarily funnels them all to the window. 9. Pat tells Matt he has 10 grenades. Matt opens his inventory revealing he in fact only has 5 grenades. Pat then exclaims "Yup, you have 10 grenades." 10. Pat claims at the start that shooting enemies in the knees sucks, only to later find that the strongest melee attack in the game is gotten with knee shots. 11. Pat claims the truck "vaporized in the explosion" only to immediately see the truck wasn't vaporized, but blown to the side of the road. 12. In the car chase sequence Pat claims he killed everyone in the truck and blew it up. Moments later the still living drivers in the intact truck game over them. 13. Pat says Wesker could have just teleported back up to the window he was thrown out of. Wesker doesn't teleport, he just dashes too fast to track his movement. 14. Pat tells Matt to dump his current shotgun because he'll be getting the M3 in Chapter 3-1. It is in fact in Chapter 3-3, literally the last zone of this section of the game before the boss fight. 15. Pat claims he's going to "start the fight" when he goes to pick up the first slate. The first slate does not trigger a fight. 16. Pat tells Matt the shotgun MUST be in the village. He is now double wrong about where the M3 is located, and is continuing to get more wrong by the second. 17. Pat tells Matt he can't escape the trap around the magnum on his own and Matt must help him. Pat then immediately frees himself with no help from Matt. 18. Pat insists Sheva never said she wanted to give up. She literally says "We should both get the hell out of here." 19. Pat says "I feel really bad for him" in reference to how hard he was kicking the chainsaw majini's ass, only to immediately waste 2 magnum shots in a row and get decapitated by him, resulting in a game over. 20. During the sequence in which they have to protect Josh, Matt says he assumes the enemies are gonna start coming out of the walls. Pat replies "No, we killed everybody." As he is saying this a cutscene starts up in which the enemies start coming out of the walls. 21. During a chainsaw majini fight Pat says "We're dead" as the majini winds up for a decapitation. [Crazy Talk] activates instantly, stunning the majini thus saving Matt and Pat. 22. Pat walks up to a door he presumes to be impossible to open and sarcastically exclaims "we can't get through here. Noooo." He then opens the door with no issues and becomes confused. 23. While giving Matt advice on escape routes from a chainsaw majini that was chasing him, Pat tells Matt "There's a door near you." Matt was standing on a raised platform with no doors anywhere on it. 24. Pat claims that the tentacles on their left during the Irving fight only attack the player on their right, and this was supposedly why they were only attacking Pat. The moment he finishes making this assertion, a left side tentacle attacks Matt instead. 25. Pat claims that you can't purchase ammo, however, purchasing a gun and then selling it back leaves the ammo it came loaded with in your inventory allowing you to purchase ammunition. Also, as Matt pointed out, you can technically purchase ammunition by purchasing an ammo capacity upgrade. This is more limited than purchasing a gun and selling it back, but is still a very effective means of acquiring ammo when you have capacity upgrades available. 26. Pat claims that the M3 Shotgun has a tighter spread than the Ithaca. All shotguns in RE5 have the same average shot grouping cone. 27. Pat says the armor you can purchase doesn't visibly appear on the character model. It, in fact, does. 28. Pat exclaims that the laser emitter has stopped. It immediately fires another laser the moment he says this. 29. While waiting to see if some majini would walk into the path of one of the lasers, Pat says "No, they're not gonna move past that spot." Immediately after saying this the majini walk into the laser. 30. Pat states that killing the lickers "Doesn't seem possibly worth it." The room with the lickers is a very popular farming location as they drop valuable treasures despite being easier to kill than most treasure carrying enemies. 31. Pat claims you cannot throw more than two grenades in U-8's mouth. You can, in fact, throw more than two grenades in. They just fucked up on the third attempt and tried to use an incendiary grenade, which does not work. For the record, even though he equipped an incendiary grenade for earlier attempts, the game automatically used his high explosive grenades from his inventory. This may have itself been the work of [Crazy talk], making his wrong choice of grenade work out anyway. 32. In the room in which they are sneaking past the lickers they come to a door Pat claims they "need to bust down super hard," implying they would alert the lickers. Matt then proceeds to open the door slowly and quietly without alerting the lickers. 33. Pat claims Matt's shotgun is going to be "the best" for dealing with the Reaper enemies. shotguns are broadly considered one of the worst methods of dealing with reapers as they are slow moving enemies that kill you instantly in close combat. This means that using precision weapons from long range is the optimal approach. It allows you to abuse their slow speed and avoid the instant death attack. 34. After spending a significant amount of time fighting it, Pat tells Matt they are doing the Uroboros Mkono boss fight correctly and that "It's just tough." They discover shortly after that they had spent nearly the entire fight not actually hitting its weakpoints. They were instead just repeatedly shooting the arms off of it, which does no actual damage. 35. In the section in which the lickers are climbing up the wall, Pat says "Now I've got a decent shot at these things." He then finds himself completely unable to spot any of the lickers whilst aiming as he may well have been in the worst possible spot to do so. 36. When Matt reaches the end of the section with the lickers Pat says "I feel like I got all of them." As he is saying this a licker is literally on screen in Matt's view. seconds later the licker jumps across the screen in front of Matt screeching. 37. While Matt is in the "Dying" state Pat says "I don't think I can get over to you." The moment he says this a prompt to jump down to the floor Matt is on flashes across the screen. 38. Pat says "I wish I could see where Wesker fucking was." Wesker is on the minimap at all times during the fight with him. 39. After dealing enough damage to Wesker to begin the QTE beatdown on him, Pat excitedly exclaims "I got him!" Pat then fucks up a prompt, failing the QTE sequence and getting himself damaged instead. 40. After discovering the stun rod can be used in an infinite combo of zapping Jill and then restraining her repeatedly, Pat exclaims "We've discovered a sick strat!" Jill then dies shortly after from the high damage dealt by the stun rod, resulting in a game over. 41. Pat states that he can't even shoot Wesker during Wesker's attack animations. immediately after this he successfully lands a shot on Wesker during an attack animation. 42. Even though they eventually realized it was because they weren't hitting the weakpoints, Pat, in a later episode, tells Matt that "Shotguns do bad damage to all bosses" and that was supposedly why Matt put "70+" shells into Uroboros Mkono without killing it. As stated in number 34, it was actually because they weren't shooting the weakpoints. Certain bosses having resistance to shotguns had nothing to do with it. 43. Pat calls the L. Hawk a "Terrible Magnum." Fully upgraded it is only 200 damage weaker than the M29, but has higher penetration, less recoil, and a faster reload speed, all at a lower cost than maxing the M29. Looking over the HP values of enemies in the game, there are very few bosses where the damage difference matters. For example, the giant bat boss only has 24,000HP meaning either magnum would require 8 shots. Wesker (First Fight) has 30,000 meaning either way you would need 10 shots. Also, before anyone says something, Wesker has special resistance to rifles and machineguns, which is why Pat didn't do shit for damage and the numbers may not add up. 44. Pat tells Matt to get ready to break stealth as he takes a shot at a Majini that hasnt seen them yet. The shot does not raise the alarm.

Pat says the jail breaker upgrades to a capacity of 100 rounds. It does not. The Ithaca has the highest capacity of RE5's shotguns at 25 shells. 46. Pat tells Matt not to shoot the weakpoints on Uroboros Aheri when they are dark instead of glowing orange and instructs him to open fire once they have started glowing again. Pat doesn't clearly articulate his reasoning for this statement, but given that there is literally no reason not to shoot them while they aren't glowing it is implied that Pat is wrong. They are still alive and still take damage, so there really is no reason not to shoot them. 47. In the Wesker fight at the hangar, Pat explicitly instructs Matt on when to restrain Wesker so he can perform the injection. Pat was wrong about the timing and couldn't make it in time. 48. During the Wesker fight at the hangar Pat runs to a dark area and says "It's dark over here, so he loses track of us." Wesker immediately finds him and rushes over. 49. Much like a child that lacks object permanence and believes that things it can no longer see must have ceased to exist, Pat continues to assert that Wesker is teleporting because he cannot see him moving or struggling to stop in all cases. We know that the t-virus does not give people the ability to teleport, and while sometimes Wesker does not appear affected by momentum after his dashes, sometimes he does. His ability to stop on a dime without apparent difficulty after SOME dashes is simply a result of his super strength. 50. In the final fight with Wesker Pat says they have to do melee attacks when he is "all fucked up." Pat is correct, but approaches from the wrong side and finds that there is no melee prompt. 51. Pat claims that the RPG launchers used to kill Wesker are the "Really Crazy" ones because they have the "red" grips. Those were standard RPG launchers. The "Special" RPG launcher that Pat is likely referencing from RE4 is differentiated by having a red grenade, not a "red" grip. 52. Pat claims that both Chris and Sheva miss with the RPG launchers. The stabilizing fins of the RPG's clearly catch Wesker's neck and seemingly decapitate him as his head appears to vanish at the moment of impact.

I think the difference is pretty clear. A bullet is an object, Wesker is a guy who maintains the *exact same pose* while moving at faster-than-the-eye speeds, supposedly. If it's *not* teleporting, it may as well be, the way it's presented.

Ciaran Statham Super speed for all intents and purposes might as well be teleporting, but certain restraints apply to super speed that don't apply for teleportation. For example, super speed doesn't allow you to phase through objects like barriers. Like Quicksilver in X-Men may as well be teleporting, or might as well have time stop with the type of shit he can do.

If he can teleport, then why would it be possible to hold onto him? As soon as you grab him, he'd teleport out of your grasp. The only way I'd accept the teleport theory, is if he could do a change of directions while in mid-air. But he's ONLY done the dash when hes in contact with something solid.

12:50 I don't really care about re5 other than it being fun, but pat I do think flashing back to jill does make sense. It's the trauma of losing her apparently, even if he knows she's ok now, for a long time he thought she was lost, and even if he knew the whole time she was ok, the event was still truamatic. He's not exactly glad to see another person die because of wesker, or at least be thrown out a fucking plane. It's not that the game isn't dumb, but you gotta know what is and isn't dumb, that one particular moment seems like really normal in comparison to everything else chris has done character wise.

It's really not, even in the scene Pat points out as evidence of him teleporting you can actually see that his legs change position between each 'blink' as I'll call them, if he was teleporting then he would have the same walking pattern as if he wasn't moving at all.

Chris does tell Sheva specifically to _shoot_ Wesker, and it's not like Sheva offers up any alternative suggestions. That said, the QTE is amazing. It's interesting that the honor of double-penetrating Wesker with Chris went to Sheva instead of Jill. This shows that she's clearly the better partner.

Yes Pat, Wesker is that fucking egotistical that he is simply moving around really fast in that pose just to look cool and you can actually tell he is fucking doing that by looking at his legs while he moves. If you look at his legs while he moves in that scene he isn't in step in line like he would be if he was simply just teleporting around, the 'walk cycle' is not consistent with how he is walking before each flash and his coat is moving around as well. I mean come on, he is using fucking judo moves on people he could easily just rip apart if he wanted to and he isn't dashing all over the place to be impossible to hit, what makes you think that he WOULDN'T be doing this for dramatic effect? If he could teleport Chris wouldn't even be able to grab him like he does in that scene, nor would he worry about Sheva stabbing him in the arm right before that, nor would Jill have been able to tackle him out a window in the flash back. Is it dumb that Wesker is just moving really fast while it looks like he is night crawler teleporting? Maybe, but that is in fact what he is doing seeing as he doesn't teleport right up to Chris at any point with his arm just impaling right through his fucking heart!

I like how Pat is using his arms as the reason Wesker is teleporting instead of looking at his fucking legs. You can see them moving with each "teleport." The distance is short so his movements don't have to be super dramatic. He's flash stepping Pat. You're wrong, like normal. Deal with it.

If you took this lp as a natural selection experiment, I don´t know what would be the results, there are no clear answers , with pat´s stern crazy talk leading him to die more times even when he has all the guns and matt being a docile slave to an asshole´s will that leave his survival at a medium term in this lp. Researcher´s Note: Is being controlled the way of the survivor? Is there even free will? the research will continue.

Pat, remember that time in X-Men Days of Future Past movie where Quicksilver teleports around to save Xavier, Magneto and Wolverine. Or in X-Men Apocalypse where he teleports everyone out of the exploding X-Mansion?!

You don't get it Pat. It's not about what it looks like he's doing. It's about what it's intended to be. Nothing in any of the games implies that biological weapons and mutations can give someone the ability to 'teleport'. We do have a lot of implications that they can give people 'superspeed'. Is this some new concept of 'death of the animator' you're trying to pull? It looks like he's teleporting therefore its now a story fact?

I agree with Pat in so far that this was one of the most definitive villain deaths in RE. Two super rockets to the face (or close to it) while submerged in lava, while being eaten up by Uroboros after being weakened by the serum twice... I think if they brought Wesker back it could only be through dimension hoping or time travel shenanigans lol

Well hey, the protagonists of Phantasy Star 2 somehow had enough bits of them left to clone after the satellite they were imprisoned on crashed into a planet and completely reduced it into an asteroid belt. You never know. Also I'm sure there's Wesker blood samples out there in some secret lab somewhere. If all else fails there's his dumb offspring Jake. Have him be possessed by the soul of his dad a la Liquid Ocelot or something.

I remember fucking up the climb prompt so much that my cousin literally had to take the controller and do it for me. Hearing Matt's confusion isn't a lot of consolation, but it does help.

Pat, in the last episode the LP literally shows Wesker moving so fast that he is dodging bullets being shot at his face from point blank as they fly towards him. He is backflipping over bullets as they fly under him. Do you honestly believe that he can't slide a few feet to the right while keeping his gun trained on Sheva faster than a human can see? Do you honestly think that it is impossible for the former leader of the S.T.A.R.S. who is superpowered by virus-drugs to the point that he can see and move out of the way of projectiles that move so fast that they are invisible, can't very easily move a few feet to the left while keeping his gun trained on Sheva faster than they can see. Or are you saying that it's to hard to point at someone while stepping to the left? I hope you like that hill, because you just got crucified to it.

Chris legitimately thought she was dead and had a funeral and grieved for her and is experiencing a situation almost exactly the same thing that happened the first time. I wonder why that moment reminded him of something traumatic and life defining for him ah well its probably just Chris being dumb.
