A big problem in the county jails all over. Ramsey County in Minnesota has this issue as well, their jail has killed or badly hurt a lot of people over recent years including one lady who sued and won because she had been permanently maimed and lost the use of a leg. They also just recently killed a guy a few days ago, and the sheriff blamed the inmate for dying in his cell - because he hadn't alerted them to his health issues, despite the body showing clear signs he was badly beaten. This is the same sheriff who runs regular ride-along streams here on youtube to promote better police/public interactions in response to George floyds death nearby.

What if Fire Fighters made arguments for "Fireman Safety comes first, so before we make any attempt to save the people burning inside, we're going to stay out here until the whole fire is out." That'd be crazy, and yet, that's *EXACTLY* how "COPS" would handle their equivalent situations. The *FACT* that they are *NOT* putting *OUR* safety *_ABOVE_* theirs should disqualify them from *BECOMING* a cop. What the hell ever happened to "Protect and Serve"?

Ignorance of the most obscure law is no excuse for Joe Civilian, even someone with an 8th grade education. But someone who gave an oath to uphold The Constitution, and is PAID to uphold the law doesn't have to know rights that have been around 200 YEARS???!!!! People: DEMAND TO YOUR CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS TO END QUALIFIED IMMUNITY, or change it to say they're only covered if they LAWFULLY perform their duties, PERIOD! People do often yell things like "can't breathe", "they're killing my babies" (no babies being involved or present), "you're hurting me" (even without any force being used). So you can't always take them at their words. But coughing is a sign of breathing issues can be a result of strenuous activity when dehydrated. Since he was no longer fighting, the knee of the back should have only been placed so if he does start to resist, then weight can be applied. Like how one cop had a foot on the leg, just to be ready, not to be used at that moment.

@OmniscientWarrior People instinctively yell "I can't breathe" when they have labored breathing. It's not that many syllables, and when your lung capacity is low, you can't exactly give a thorough explanation as to what you mean. So, nobody should be taken seriously? See, it hurts nobody to believe everybody, and stop kneeling on someone who's already restrained. When he said "can't breathe", it means he felt his lungs being squished like a air ball so that's why he can't get air inside his lungs properly. His time is literally a hourglass of sand every time the air getting smaller and smaller until it's empty. As soon as anyone say "can't breathe", they're already knocking on the Door of Death.

If I were in a store that was being robbed and I knew it was going to be robbed, would I be held as an accessory to a robbery? And if the police knew that the big cop's actions could cause the death of the guy on the ground, who was handcuffed, not moving, and saying "I can't breathe," shouldn't they be charged with accessory to murder?
