@@sandragraves1177 Your taking a very personal position on others suffering. Nothing wrong with hoping they will Suffer? OK, we're going backwards in civilization response to others problems. These people have serious mental problems to have that many children is Insane ,and then think you have the parenting skills to deal with them correctly, when clearly you don't is A indicator you need help. Prison is For punishment and rehab, but at that Age rehab is not likely. They will probably die in prison which may be Best for them. Their not getting another life.

29 years! For 29 years they abused their own flesh and blood. If you do something for 29 years how can you say that you never meant to do it?! They make me sick. And so angry. And why keep having children if you hate them so much? I just don’t understand. Those 2 are exactly where they deserve to be. If they didn’t want their kids, they could have given them up for adoption. At least then they would have had a chance at normal life.

"I never intended to cause any harm to my children. I am sorry if I've done anything to cause them harm." IF?! The audacity of this man. Yes, your honor, I never intended to harm my children by beating, caging, chaining, and starving my children. Right. Yeah. How could anyone see that as harmful? That's not a man; that's a monster that truly thinks he's done nothing wrong. Also, let's talk about how their eldest daughter spent 29 years as a captive of her parents; 7 years longer than her parents will spend in prison.

It’s Stockholm syndrome, identifying and empathizing with your abuser. Nothing astounding or good about it.They were chained, starved and on a vampire schedule. Let’s not confuse their trauma reaction, for “raising themselves up astoundingly”, they survived and I hope they get out of this abuse cycle via therapy and counseling and cut all ties with their abusers and captors. One daughter of the 13 siblings, who wanted her parent’s sentence to be shorter actually said it got worse after the death of her mom’s parents and this “mother’s” sister said in another interview that their mom(so the grandmother of these kids) basically pimped out her daughters(aka the mother-Christine turpins) to her grandfather. Basically the abuse cycle just repeated itself here in a different way. I hope it stops with this generation.

I endured years of sexual abuse by my half brother in order to keep him away from my baby sister....... nobody believed me when I told what he was doing.... hence the YEARS. believe it or not I was BLAMED here on KZbin for being a young teenager while his abuse continued..... as if I had super powers or something. I would refuse to represent them. They deserve the death penalty. They should not have the ability to be let out. EVER. Screw that. My parents were both narcissistic people. They were controlling, my father controlled my mother in little ways everyday. They would argue and just get right in each others face. I remember at probably like 4/5, my first memory was my father having my mom jacked up against the wall. However, they were not like these 2 people. They are not parents. My parents gave me a clean home, a wonderful property, a great education and I had a full scholarship for college. They were abusive mentally and emotionally. But NEVER conditions like that. Ever. We raised German Shepherd's. Breed and trained them since I was 8 yrs old. The dogs kennels were sweeped out daily, water bowls bleached out monthy. Refilled daily and rinsed out. Feed anywhere between 1 to 3 feedings a day. Depending on age. I am so glad they got away but medically..all those kids are not where they should be. California laws need to get back to being severe for those who murder and torture another human being. So ALL THE KIDS DIDN'T DIE..SO..?? That doesn't matter when they where abused so harshly and neighbors did see things. The 1 teacher for God's sake saw it. Sheriff's should have been dispatched along with CPS after a few weeks..minimal. i get the way the system operates. But ohh i pray Lord, these parents get their justice in jail and don't ever see the sunlight again. AMEN

I didn’t know any streets either until I was 18 cuz my parents were really strict I was never allowed to go out or have friends or bring friends over. They would spread rumours about me to family to make my situation harder. I would be stalked and busted everytime I’d try to go out with friends secretly after school/college. Even going out to grocery shop I was given lectures by my older sisters and parents cuz they thought I was out dating someone so I had to send them proof like photos & addresses of where I am and with who if I went out to run errands. It happened until 25 and now turned 26 last month but I’m still not allowed to go out late and I get questions when I go out. Not allowed to date and I don’t have any friends right now cuz everytime I make a friend they tell me to stop talking to them and make up excuses that this friend is bad influence. Im not allowed to dress however I want or talk on the phone with friends(from social media cuz I don’t have local friends) Im not allowed to come home late I come home at 7 the latest. I want to save money so I can move out and be independent cuz I feel like I’m not confident or independent enough being the age that I am.. I feel bad for the years I lost without experiencing my childhood but at least I know these things were wrong. When I tell my family they’re wrong they actually gaslight me and tell me “you just hate us and you’re crazy we are all normal and you’re the one who’s a psychopath” they would also threaten to call the police on me and tell them that I am scaring them and that they will kick me out. My sister used to bully me in high school and still does to this day. She would bully me about my skinny weight and when the school helped me gain weight at the hospital she started bullying me for gaining wright then she would make fun of the way I eat or my makeup and other stuff. She’s the one who spreads rumours about me to make my parents more strict and doubt me. My other older sister was good to me until she started following my middle sister’s footsteps into calling me names and bullying me everytime I’d stand up for myself. I’ve been quiet for so long and the one time I want to fight back and stand up for myself they call me crazy and hate them “for no reason”

Guys, there are still people down in the comments saying that you can't heal or move on unless you forgive, but that's such a toxic belief that there's a growing number of people like myself that are trying to make it known that you do not HAVE TO forgive anyone. That it's perfectly okay to say "I don't forgive you", but still forget and move on. No one is owed your forgiveness, and no one gets to decide whether you give it or not besides you, and if they try to tell you otherwise, tell them in no uncertain terms that they need to take several steps back into their own lane. I had a shitty childhood full of adults that would continue to hurt me well into my adulthood, and it got to the point where I had to ask myself what these "family members" even did for this relationship. And because they were unwilling to change they weren't deserving of my forgiveness, or a place in my life. I can't forgive them, I took the time I needed to mourn the loss of a close relationship with them that I always wanted but never had. They don't deserve my forgiveness, and this next chapter of my life I've moved on to has been so much better with me going no contact with them and moving on better than ever.

Exactly! Everyone that wants to say they are mentally ill don’t realize that they still did so much to cover up this disgusting abuse. They “homeschooled” them just so that they could abuse them in peace. Just looking at the body cam footage you can tell that they didn’t want the police to see what was going on behind closed doors. They absolutely knew the consequences of their actions. Some people are just evil, and that’s hard for people to accept.

I too, for totally different reasons, did not have a normal childhood. But don't worry. Now at age 20 something these young adults can start making up for the childhood they never had. I know they will because I did it too. I'm 55 years old now and I still do some things that normal 55 year olds do not do. You spend the rest of your life making up for what you didn't get in your childhood. It isn't quite the same as having did all these things as a kid but it is the best we have and it makes for a fun adulthood. However, the downfall is that you never really feel completely comfortable with your own age group. For example, I am in my fifties but I enjoy adventurous things that a 20 something might enjoy, and my career life is at the 30 something level of just now finding my way in life. While my chronological age group is slowing down and retiring...I am speeding up. Yes, I look like I'm 55. I have the aches and pains sometimes of that age group but I'll be d@mned if I'm not gonna do all the things I never got to do growing up. Yep. My mother stole my childhood but she can't stop me now. Go do whatever you want guys!!!! Take back what was taken from you! Take it all back and more!!!!!

My grandmother (by DNA only) & step-grandfather tortured and abused my mother and her seven siblings. I still see the trauma in the way my mom, aunts and uncles move, eat, and even live. One of my aunts constantly apologizes for everything and flinches if someone yells; my mom had too many health issues to recount (my mom passed a few years back). One of my uncle's is blind in his left eye and my other uncle speaks a lot like Jordan -- low and child like. These children may be physically free of their parents, but their mental and spiritual struggles will last forever. May they find help, peace, and love. All children deserve love.
