Not sure I’d buy the copy when the original (Bertucci ) is so affordable to start with

I agree, and particularly when Boderry haven't copied the super strong integrated strap bar design that Bertucchi use.

I've noticed that there are hardly any videos about black PVD watches and I've been searching for a though affordable military or diver watch. Would be cool a video about some options.

Boderry has switched the movement to the Seiko NH35a movement, which I prefer over the Miyota movement. I have had my Voyager for 1 1/2 weeks now with no issues. This is an awesome watch in and of itself, but the price point makes it that much better. I actually prefer this watch to the Bertucci watches I own.
@Box_13 Жыл бұрын
The stitched ridges on the end of the strap are an element Bertucci uses as well. It is part of their "Fold and Tuck" system which is supposed to keep the excess part of the band from popping out of the keepers.

That Boderry is almost identical to a Bertucci I had a few years ago which was also titanium and was around $75 or maybe a little less. However, the Bertucci had a quartz movement. The automatic models are a little more than twice the price.

You said it yourself, the Boderry really isn't an original design, but neither is the Berny. While the Berny looks a bit cheap, the Boderry seems OK. Although I'm not a massive fan of this kind of strap, the one they included seems of reasonable quality. The big ace card of the Berny between these two is the Seiko VH31 meca quartz movement of course. I would prefer that over a non-hacking Miyota.

Just picked up the Boderry on bracelet. I have a couple of Miyota 8000 series watches and personally dont mind them at all. This will be my first titanium watch. I like the look and for me its the perfect size for a modern field watch.

This Boderry with deep red textured dial and date date complication looks impressive, but 22 mill lugs? The strap width spoils the proportions of the watch but I could and still may be interested in it.

Cronos 200m diver was purchased, and the 41mm wore bigger, other wise the descriptions were accurate. Not able to say of the other cronos watches in any aspect. For the Boderry, no hacking with their movement as the primary reason to pass.

It would be interesting to know if people new to the hobby hold the same stigma about 8000 series Miyotas in the same way as an experienced collector does. BTW, some of these simpler Miyotas do hack and hand wind; as used by Bulova and Citizen.

Well, you put me off the Berny which I had my eye on, but I’m still not convinced by the Boderry… also, a bit of an abrupt end to the video there and I couldn’t see the lume shot as there are video links left and right covering the shot! (FYI). Regardless, thanks for the video!

I was an early buyer of the Boderry. Looks to me like there has been a sharp increase in prices. Back in March I paid $69 with the strap. I recently got an email with a "special limited time offer" of $128 USD for the Voyager with the matching $33 bracelet!! Mine has the prominent second hand "stutter" the movement is known for.

I got the Boderry to try as I liked the look and wanted sapphire + screw-crown, it was ok but in the hand having a fiddle as you do, it just didn't seem that great to me, alright for the monies I guess but I moved it on quickly as I'm getting too picky and fussy, I think I am demanding better build quality all the time and that sadly does seem to only come with spending a little more.
@scottlewis2372 Жыл бұрын
I don't mind an 8000 in a knockabout watch but I wish it had fixed lugs. Currently I have a resin cased and an aluminum cased Bertucci and will be adding a Ti. Their straps are top notch and the Boderry looks like it's pretty good as well.

Just picked one of these up a week ago and (so far…)am very pleased! Very good build quality on the watch case/back/crystal. The strap is also very well made, but just too thick for my taste. I ended up putting it on a "French para" elastic strap and it looks/works GREAT as well as disguising the rather large gap between the case and the spring bar. I totally share Gary’s reticence on the Miyota movement choice; non-hacking and marginal accuracy. Meh. Though overall a great buy for $80 US!

Isn't the idea behind Titanium watches the weight saving? (Yes I know the novelty of owning a Titanium watch is also now a consideration) ... so that said from a practical standpoint what is the purpose of a smallish sized Titanium field watch on a NATO strap? Curious what the weight saving is? And how noticable it is on the wrist? (My Seiko SNK809, Timex Expedition Scout and Lorus Lumibrite feel light enough already). Also don't most Titanium watches scratch more easily? Also not great on a field watch. Not trying to be 'debbie downer' just a few thoughts.

I’d be careful of that Boderry. The first one I got had a bad Miyota moment that would pause and jump. Sent it back and waited over a month for a new one and the second one I got won’t run for more than a couple min before just stopping. I won’t buy anything else from Boderry. I’ll probably just replace the movement myself

I think both are bad and not worth the money. Lowest end auto with poor regulation and no bracelet vs boring quartz and snap caseback. I would rather get Escapement Time with PT5000.

The Boderry is far too chunky for a field watch and the strap is not inspiring. Without the big lugs it could be much better looking. The Berny is good value but would be better with a mechanical movement, it’s OK but nothing special.

well, while we appreciate your support to the industry by insisting a cheap VH31 movement is better than a mechanical one, one needs to be reminded that the manufacturing part of the industry appreciates it more. However, the consumer part finds it insulting. Come on, stop it, plenty of mechanical calibers around these days, they can manage. VH31 is a cheap movement that even Invicta (the mass production king with 4000 new designs every year) puts in only low end watches, and they at least stick to Ronda.
