►Big Update as of 11/2/2021 - The Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus is now listed as the Tesla Model 3 under "Rear-Wheel Drive" on Tesla's website, and comes with a 5.8 sec 0-60 mph time now (previously 5.3 sec 0-60 mph), along with 272 miles of range with the 18" aero wheels and 267 miles of range with the 19" sport wheels (both previously listed for 262 miles of range). ►Price update as of 11/4/2021 - The starting price of the Tesla Model 3 RWD is now $44,990 while the starting price of the Tesla Model 3 Long Range is now $50,990 after a $1,000 price increase for all of the Tesla Model 3 trims (starting price of the Tesla Model 3 Performance is now $58,990). Thanks to Hai Quach for letting me know! Thanks to DrBo42 for pointing out the potential EV credit that may come out soon. It looks like the credit will be applied immediately at point-of-sale and won't be retroactive, so for those of us with pending orders or estimated deliveries this year, you may want to delay your deliveries until next year to take advantage of the EV credit if/when it comes out. Thanks to Nacario for pointing out that you may get the LFP battery with the SR+ depending on when and where you ordered. Thanks to Laszlo Pistar for pointing out that SR+ in the future will be delivered with a bigger battery pack (60 kWh LFP battery the norm going forward?). Thanks to kickflip215 for pointing out that the premium connectivity trial for all Tesla Model 3s ordered on or after 10/15/2021 will be 30 days starting from the delivery date. Another thanks to kickflip215 for pointing out that the 2022 versions of the entry Tesla Model 3 RWD (produced after 11/1/2021) will now come included with the heated steering wheel and rear heated seats activated.

We watched your video yesterday comparing the M3 RWD to the Dual Motor, and I commented that we had purchased the RWD based upon the strengths of the LFP battery. Then this morning I watched this video and changed my mind lol. We ordered our M3 back in November 2021 and are locked into the prices from that date. So I was able to go into my account and change the trim to the Dual Motor, so for “only” $6000 more we were able to upgrade from the RWD. I wish the Dual Motor had the LFP chemistry, but everything else, especially the premium stereo, we think is worth the price difference. Keep up the great work.

Thanks so much Kermit! Awesome to hear that they're able to lock in the prices and allow order changes now. Did they update your estimated delivery date after your order change? A friend actually just made changes to his MY order the other day and his delivery date somehow stayed the same lol.

@@CasualTeslaFan Yes, it changed for the better! It was April 20 - May 18, and now just today it changed to April 9 - April 23! It feels great to be getting the car for $3500 less than if we ordered it today. :). Thanks again for your great videos. Looking forward to much more of your content.

I’m with you on this. I picked up my SR+ last month when the base price was still under 40k. If I were to order a Model 3 now, I would probably go with the LR. Regardless, I’m happy with my SR+ because it really does everything that I need. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Peter! Yeah I've been loving my SR+ and really glad we were able to pick up our SR+ before the price increases.

I had a feeling this was going to happen. So happy I ordered it in September. Still worth it in my opinion.

Great call. Yeah definitely agree and so nice to be able to slide in and order one before the price hikes.

I pre-ordered my tesla less than a month ago and needed a new car by march 2022 which was my expected delivery date. It got shot all the way back up to July 2022 and honestly would've probably taken longer hearing some stories on reddit. I just decided to pay the extra 6k to get it in December and honestly I wanted more range and better speaker system. To me its worth the extra 6k to not only get it sooner, but for long term ownership of battery depletion of having that extra range.

Thanks for sharing your experience Jonnay and great point on the battery degradation. Yeah those estimated delivery dates for the SR+ are wild right now and would have been the tipping point for me if I had to order again today. Also, DrBo42 in the comments made a great point about the potential EV credit that might come out soon, so depending on if/when that new credit goes live, you may want to delay your delivery to take advantage of the new credit when it does.

For $6k difference Im getting the LR no doubt. I def need AWD in my area where rain and snow occurs frequently. Other factors for me for the LR is the more range and the shorter wait time for delivery date.
@CasualTeslaFan3 жыл бұрын
True true. I was thinking the same thing and didn't think about it before but it would be nice to have AWD when it rains too.

I picked up my model 3 SR+ this July 2021. . I ordered it in March of same year. With the white interior and 19” sports wheels. Luckily didn’t have to wait that long as it is right now.. I live in Vancouver, BC It would be nice to have the LR, but it didn’t bother me because with SR+ I’m so happy right now. Just thought that it has a fog lights, looks like there is a horizontal clear lens in between the park lights (yellow bulbs) trying to find where the switch is. Thanks for the info and video.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Ron. Great to hear and I'm also completely satisfied and happy with my SR+ so far.

Definitely woulda gone with the long range with the small price difference now. I wish I could edit my order , I ordered a SR+ back in September at 39.9K
@CasualTeslaFan3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I hear ya. Especially with the shorter delivery times, I probably would have opted for the long range too. But still a great deal to get the SR+ at $39,990, and saw some discussions about people potentially selling their SR+ for more than what they bought theirs for and putting in a new order for a long range.

Just ordered a SR+ a day before price increase in Hungary:) Important to mention that the car is gonna be built with the 60kwh battery from now on, so the range gets closer to the LR.

Thanks for pointing that out Laszlo. I'll credit and pin you in a new comment about the bigger battery coming for the SR+ along with DrBo42 and Nacario who also brought up great points I missed.

Factoring in a potential EV credit is also super important if you're in the US. Currently looking like a $8000 credit based on talks so far and won't be retroactive. I would NOT order a LR model now with the quick delivery date in comparison.
@CasualTeslaFan3 жыл бұрын
Great point. Thanks for bringing the potential EV credit up because that is crucial information that everyone should be aware of. I'll credit and pin you in a new comment along with Nacario who mentioned the LFP battery that some might receive with the SR+.

I’m on a similar but different fence with Tesla. I’m looking at the performance vs LR. I’ve always been a speed guy. I made a sacrifice on my last car to get a “family” car which has been fine for my use but I miss the speed. So the performance is the easy pick right? The EV tax bill is now messing with the decision. The performance is over the $55k limit for rebate whereas the LR is not. Do I buy the slower of the two and soak up the rebate? Reinvest in some wheels, suspension? Buy the available speed boost for $2,000 and reduce 0-60 to 3.8? The P 0-60 is 3.1. I hate this fence!
@CasualTeslaFan3 жыл бұрын
Ah yeah really tough choice. Like you said, you could go for the LR with the rebate and reinvest in performance mods and upgrades plus the $2k acceleration boost, but that 3.1 sec 0-60 the performance model offers sounds like it's gonna be tough to reach. It looks like the LR plus rebate if/when it passes would leave you around $15k to get a LR as close to the performance model's 3.1 0-60 as possible though, and having the option to swap out a second pair of wheels, customize your car, and/or having access to the LR's longer range (essentially being able to swap your car between a LR and a "Performance" model) when you need it while saving money in the process might be something to consider? But yeah tough choice and if that new EV credit somehow doesn't get passed, sounds like performance all the way.

SR+ charged slower, so that’s your time u spend at charging station.
