My great grandfather was a Captain in the French/ Vietnamese Navy during the French colonization of Vietnam in WW2. Japanese troops captured his village but spared everyone there because he had a fan as a gift from the Japanese emperor before the war. So the soldiers bowed to it and left the village. My great grandfather though, sadly was killed in the Vietnam War. My grandpa was a Major in the South Vietnamese Army during the Vietnam War. He was shot once but managed to survive. My grandpa moved to San Francisco in 1984 after the war. He passed away on December 30th, 2020. In honor of both of these family members, I will join the Us navy and be a fighter pilot.

It's hard to believe in all those planes and ships there is people, with families and friends. They all had childhoods and grew up not knowing they would take part in the deadliest war in human history. Each one of those planes is a person not knowing if they'll make it home or not. God bless that generation. They will always have my respect and admiration

I get goosebumps imagining what it must've been like for those guys that fought in that war. They were humans, had families, were afraid but they did it anyways, and many paid the ultimate price... gratitude / admiration / envy is what I feel towards those guys.

A man once told me the story of a hero who saved 17 mens lives at Pearl Harbour. He was a sailor on one of the ships when it caught on fire, he managed to escape but realised that there were still people on board so he climbed up and down saving 17 lives, he said that there were still more and went back up to save them but he never came back down. RIP

The fighting scene gave me chills fr, the sheer amount of ammo being fired is just...so amazing and stunning, it's like literally a rain of bullets showering down/upwards. Can't believe pilots need and sometimes succeed in manoeuvring through all of that. Glory to all the allied soldiers and may all innocents from both sides rest in peace.

Dick Bastard, what a legendary man. The Japanese naval fleet wouldn't have been that crippled without his almost-suicide attempt to dive in and sink the carrier. Salute to every young man and woman who had to give their lives on the battlefields so we can live a normal life today.

@@elioteasterbrook7041 just because I said there were some honorable men on both sides doesn’t mean I’m blind to the atrocities of the Japanese empire. Modern Japan I genuinely believe is a force for good but the imperial Japanese empire absolutely wasn’t they committed just as many horrible atrocities as the nazis. But it’s not black and white not every single Japanese soldier was evil just like not every us soldier was good. Our side commute our fair share of war crimes. Everyone did in that conflict. Unfortunately war tends to bring out the worst in people
