My great grandfather was a Captain in the French/ Vietnamese Navy during the French colonization of Vietnam in WW2. Japanese troops captured his village but spared everyone there because he had a fan as a gift from the Japanese emperor before the war. So the soldiers bowed to it and left the village. My great grandfather though, sadly was killed in the Vietnam War. My grandpa was a Major in the South Vietnamese Army during the Vietnam War. He was shot once but managed to survive. My grandpa moved to San Francisco in 1984 after the war. He passed away on December 30th, 2020. In honor of both of these family members, I will join the Us navy and be a fighter pilot.

A man once told me the story of a hero who saved 17 mens lives at Pearl Harbour. He was a sailor on one of the ships when it caught on fire, he managed to escape but realised that there were still people on board so he climbed up and down saving 17 lives, he said that there were still more and went back up to save them but he never came back down. When Japan lost, it was more invaded than the countries of America. For example, from Mexico, the US stole more than half of its territory, but from Japan it erased its culture and art.

The Pacific Theatre was one of the most intense and brutal areas of war in history, and it also the one which is the least talked about. When people forget the horrors of war, we tend to repeat it. I sincerely hope it will not happen again, but the people in power beg to differ

People living in a peaceful society today have forgotten the glorious spirit of their ancestors who once fought for honor and country.
