Definitely a good looking tray. Even though you've started again, it'll be worth it when it just works and looks how you want it to look. Since starting to use deutsch plugs about 4 years back I haven't looked back, easy to assemble and 13 amps on each pin and as you said waterproof. I've considered using an 8 pin for a trailer plug as I have to tape it on if I'm doing a lot of rough dirt road driving and losing the plug with 2 tons behind is not a nice feeling.

Yeah dude they’re brilliant, I used an 8 pin one for my stereo speakers, I also used an 8 pin when I replaced my gearbox loom, 6 pin one when I chopped the car and stripped out all the old wagon wires and sent the new loom to the back of the car! They’re good for anything really, on the trailer is a great idea. Added bonus that no one can borrow it haha, those trailer sockets are useless

Tim, once again an amazing Vlog. Funny thing is today I followed home a Cruiser with a custom tray and they were running 3 lights either side. I couldn’t stop admiring them. Is the space available for the 2 to turn into a 3, even if tight ? No weight of splash back on them so clearance distances can be minimum. I love how you think it’s all sweet in CAD but the eye doesn’t approve. Your builds are not only amazing the eye for detail and looking right is right up there. Simple things like an angled rear pull out tray. Just wow. Thanks again for sharing. P.s. Rivnuts are awesome.
@timmyhasheart2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much mate always appreciate your insight and feedback, and na i don’t think I’d have fit them even if I crammed them together, the space is about 400mm and each light is 125mm so that’s 375mm but due to that bend the last 50mm or so is useless one end and due to the angle at the outer end the last 50mm is also useless there unfortunately, I did try haha cause I loved the 3 but that’s just the compromise we have to make sometimes 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Cheers mate!! So that other tank is a long range one so it hangs ridiculously low but because the GU has 2 tanks I won’t bother cause it already carries like 1000km range 👍🏻 As for the tray width I don’t mind so much about the width of trays as long as the tube sticks out a bit to protect the RHS and as long as you have a wee bit of tyre poke! Hey Timmy Thinking about that expensive light you scuffed with the sander, I was wondering if it is not too deep, you might be able to wet sand it back & maybe get that plastic polish to bring it back or close to what it should be. Or as an experiment, thinking you might not get it back to its original polished state, see what kind of a frosted like effect you might get with fine wet sanding & polishing it? Just an idea Probably better things to do with ones time I guess. Tray is looking awesome!
@timmyhasheart2 ай бұрын
Yeah I’ll chuck it in the drawer as a spare and if I get a moment at some point I’ll see how I go, you might even be able to replace the lens cause they’re just plastic glued but yeah appreciate it mate 👍🏻
@leonkane82402 ай бұрын
The ones I have bought are I guess middle market & looking @ them I am thinking it might be hit or miss trying to remove the lens, might do more damage. If you can see a seal or gasket behind the transparency of the lens or anchor tabs then they might have replacement lenses for them. Mine it looks are seal with like super glue & I don't know that even putting gentle heat along the join would help & the join has no gap to get a blade or plastic spade in to pry it. @ $300 a unit, it would kind of be nice if you could replace them. I feel you pain I have been there too.
@timmyhasheart2 ай бұрын
@leonkane8240 yeah the singles are only $50 but all 6 were $300 obviously haha, then I replaced the 2 reverse ones so $400. But I also dropped and broke the lens on a reverse one so i know it doesn’t take much to get the cap off, I was thinking i could take the lens off a reverse one and glue it to the scuffed one but yeah anyway, they’ll all break when I’m flogging it in the bush hahaha

Yeah dude that’s an awesome question so yeah they can rust, there’s 3 kinds there is aluminium, which I wouldn’t use for anything too structural, then there’s zinc or stainless. @timmyhasheart2 ай бұрын
Yeah on the speed werx site you get whatever die correlates with what you’re using whether it’s, Pipe, NB tube, CDS, DOM, so I just have the 32nb die for 32nb which is 42.4 OD and then for 40nb I use my 40nb die which is 48.3 OD. All available on the site and they list in MM too. You can’t just use what’s “close” that’s when it kinks, you need the sides to be supported which means a perfect interference fit.
@PauleyBuilt2 ай бұрын
@@timmyhasheart sweet thank you. Must have to special order em here in NZ for pipe ones bugger it. They have all the tube dies in stock but nothing to suit NB o.ds. Thanks for your time.
@timmyhasheart2 ай бұрын
@PauleyBuilt so NB is technically tube, because while it’s “bore” it’s nominal bore which means by name only, but as the wall thickness changes it’s the bore that changes, the OD never changes so technically tube. and what it sounds like is you have a pipe bender, or pipe kinker, which is what I used to have and I had to special order NB dies. Google “dawn dies 32nb” that’s what I used to use and it was a perfect fit, never kinked.

Is that street legal in AUS: when the do not point STRAIGHT backwards?
@timmyhasheart2 ай бұрын
It sure is dude!! 🔥🔥 my GQ is fully engineered and passed several roadies with the same back. Lights must be visible at 40° 👍🏻

Get the Oz Tent RS-1 stretcher. It's by far the best stretcher for a single swag. It is heavy but it's built like a brick shithouse.

I think this may have been meant for Aussie Arvos video hahah
@@dilligafmofo5921hahahaha cheers mate, I’ll pass it on to jonesy about the stretcher ;)

Brother just sand the light back to a polish. It'll be fine.

At the end of the day the lenses are replaceable and the lights are $50 each I was kinda just being a sook haha, wouldn’t bother sanding one back tbh I hate sanding 😂

Tim what is your tray size in L×W just queries
@timmyhasheart2 ай бұрын
I think it’s pretty close to a bang on 1900 square mate! First one was 1950. That’s RHS to RHS not including tube guards 👍👍 but GU are super super wide, as are the diffs/wheel track 👍🏻
@markleon70762 ай бұрын
You have not got much overhang on your tray I was more looking for the length of the tray?
@timmyhasheart2 ай бұрын
@@markleon7076oh yeah na like 1900-1950 I like them as short as possible 👍🏻

I much prefer the 2 rear lights over 3. The centre was to narrow and it had to much of an agricultural landcruiser look.
@timmyhasheart2 ай бұрын
Oh true? That’s good, I think I like the 3 more but a drawer is something I’m willing to compromise for, cheers 👍🏻👍🏻

Like a cold saw? Yeah it’s on the list dude, unfortunately funds aren’t unlimited but it’ll happen I’ll sort a bandsaw or a cold saw

@@timmyhasheart nah circular saw like for timber but their only 5 or 6" for sheet metal it absolutely chews though 5mm sheet. Surly Kincrome have one 😂

@@experienceoutdoors6279 ohhhh right na haha I want something that can do stainless 3” pipe right through to like RHS mitres, something with coolant and that I can leave like a bandsaw haha

@@timmyhasheart yeah a brobo saws the best honestly get a big boy when you do the 355mm, I requested one at work but the purchasing officer bought the 315(cheaper) but 6 sharpens in you won't cut 75mm square in one go. Its annoying coz they blades ain't cheap
