If you are getting a hum with engine running but not while engine off it is emi interference it’s easy to fix with an isolator

Great review! I am an audiophile junky with my Jeep rocking the tunes, lol. Your comments about personal preference is so accurate, music is to each individuals taste. Some spend money on bigger tires, huge lifts etc, all personal taste because Jeeps are so personal. What dash cam are you using, have you done a review of it? thanks for your great content!!

Download Screen Filter app it lowers brightness more than normal setting, then all you have to figure out is how to have it come on with the head lights and then off again

I have a similar unit which I recently installed on my Jeep. I am pretty satisfied and learning. The only problem I have so far is the Radio. Reception is not that good even with local station. Hi, I really appreciate your videos they have been a lot of help with the head unit. I installed the radio today, everything works great with the exception of the music through Bluetooth. I can can call and receive calls however when I play music from my phone no sounds come out. Everything seems to work perfect with the exception of the music !! I just got this unit, and 2 things arent going well for me. I got a very very faint sound coming though my after market subwoofer with an amp build into it. I wired it in before using the original sub wires so for the most part it was plug and play. Any suggestions on what to do to get the sub going, it almost sound like speakers are cancelling each other out? and 2nd problem, i got the WIFI back Cam, wired it on the head unit side, seems to be on. Wired the other piece to the rear light wires, so it only turns on when pressing brake, or reversing?? (havent got that far). It's not working, please help with any advise. Internet is very limited on info!

If you have the alpine upgrade you need to cross two wires to get the best quality. It is a huge difference

OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps A friend of mine that owns a shop had to track down the people in China to get them to explain it. I'll try to find out which wires and then let you know. But once you swap them you will see a huge difference in my opinion

If i can get him to tell me the wires ill let you guys know but the shops are tight lip'd on it because they want people to go to them to do the installs. But trust me the system sounded ok but something was missing once he swiped wires holy crap the sound never sounded that good

atlbrvs only if you use the SiriusXM app and stream it. That requires data or course

make sure you are in the right country mode in the radio settings first. Then press and hold the station number till you hear the beep like any other radio. The switching of the countries is paramount.

Great videos you helped a lot during the installation, I got 3 questions: 1. Where did you find the setting so it starts right away every time? Mine starts completely when I turn my Jeep on every morning. 2. I got an Android phone and I can't make it see my contacts to be able to make a phone call straight from the secaine. 3. Is there a way to lock the screen, I sometimes borrow my Jeep and I don't want anyone wondering around with my personal apps. Other than that I love this head unit and it looks great! Thanks!

Eddie Mulligan I am having a similar problem. Every time I turn the car on it hard boots and loses all of my time and date settings. It's just an inconvenience thing because everything else works fine. Just wondering what setting I have to change for it to stay in low power mode all the time.

iv been using the unit with android 4.1 , the sound was amazing and high quality audio. then update to android 5.1 unit and i don't like the audio stream in same vehicle. no clue with android 6 and 7 unite!

i use waze and gmaps and it doesnt lag. am not sure if his HU is the same spec with my seicane HU 4core 2gb android 7.1.2 for 2017 wrx sti. still using stock launcher but will change it soon coz i hate the ios looks icons. so far so good. a ton faster than my $500 pioneer HU.

I recently purchased one of these but I’m having an issue using the WiFi. It is able to find the signal but it never connects. It simply says connecting and then it stops. Is there something I might be doing wrong or did they send me a faulty unit?

I can't honestly tell you. You won't find a big touch screen unit in the higher end for this price range tho... they are in the $1000 range. I wish I could help you more. It's not a high end stereo. I am confident in that. It sounds good tho.

If you want real time updates and traffic, yes. You can download offline maps and directions, and then continue to use without an active hotspot connection, but I just basically always connected to my phones hotspot.

Ok so what internet is the GPS running off of? I can't play spotify unless I make my phone a hotspot? Also is there a way to keep it from going mute when I put my jeep in reverse?

GPS doesn't use the internet.. it uses the GPS/Sat antenna. Spotify is an Internet Streaming music service, so, yes. Internet is required... unless you can save music offline. I don't use spotify... but I can do that with Google Music. It works well. There is a setting in the menu that will mute the sound in reverse. You need to uncheck that, or change it. I can't remember exactly where it is...but I think the Driving Settings, or somewhere down at the bottom.

Yeah... my thoughts... if they want it, they are going to try and take it. There isn't much you can do. If you do something to make it un-stealable... they'll just destroy it trying. Locked gloveboxes and center consoles are great examples. I would love to have one of these but with a hidden pop up display that hides behind a generic am/fm radio...but I haven't seen one that meets my needs.

My seicane goes on black screen time to time, so I have to disconnect jeep's battery in order to make it work again (not funny), Seicane support is a pain on the ***. Does anyone has the same issue?

I have an issue and slightly irritated. I purchased this unit close to a month ago. It was working awesome and I was enjoying it. But one day I started my 2015 wrangler and it didn't turn on. I checked all the fuses and they are good. I plugged the stock radio back in and it worked fine. I emailed seicane and they said I needed to wire the acc wire into the vehicles acc wire and it will work. That means nothing to me. I don't know if you can offer any advise. Thanks

Versausage TV it really depends on what hardare you have and whether someone has made a new build for it. Xda developers is the place to check out for that. You can search Android head unit over there... But the honest truth is I bought mine assuming it will never be updated. That's why I chose lower end hardware and newer os.

I don't understand your question. There are plenty of Apple CarPlay compatible head units but none of them are going to be android-based systems.

I have the old unit with android 6. something. At around minute 0:15 you said that you have a setting to keep the unit on all the time and does not have to start or initialize the unit when it has been turned off for longer periods of time, did i understand that correctly? if so, can you share such setting/hack? In my settings the longest time to avoid the unit to turning totally off after ACC is off is 60 minutes.

Yes. it has an aux video/left/right RCA.... so if you want a 1/8mm plug you need to buy an RCA L/R to 1/8" adapter

Can it be updated? Maybe. Will it be easy? No. Basically, I'd consider it un-updatable. What is required for an update is for someone to release a new build for our specific hardware. This would likely come from the xda-dev community, but there are no guarantees when/how often. There will be no support from the vendor, and you obviously don't get carrier support.

I've had mine for two years now and no real problems with it, the only thing is that when I am using nav and listing to music (which is always) after about an hour the unit will over heat and shut off. If I don't turn the ac on and blow cold air with the vents closed every 40 minutes or so for about 10 minutes, even in the winter. Any idea how to stop it from over heating? customer service was useless.

I installed mine and then after a day the audio stopped. Almost as if someone cut off the speakers. I rechecked my wiring and connections. I went into the factory setting and I can’t get any audio.. obviously it didn’t come with instructions and seicanes help have been horrible. I don’t even get hum. When I turn the volume up I don’t even get that clicking sound. Please help

I had no problems here. I have gotten good support (replies to e-mails within a day) and fast shipping, they even e-mailed me to double check what cables I need before shipping. And warranty. Installation was pretty easy too and the thing works great

Seicane is the worse company you can buy a radio with. Poor customer service. Sell defective product and take forever to refund. Don’t waste your time buy a name brand. Stay away you will regret buying from them.
