A New Seicane 10.1 Android Head Unit - Model H201G Installation with PAC RP4-CH11 - Jeep Wrangler

I decided to upgrade to the latest Seicane Android head unit, and so I picked up this, the H201G. It has an 8 core processor, 4GB of RAM and is running Android 8. My only concern was the reports of it not working well with the factory Alpine amplifier and sub. Because of that, and to save myself some time and grief, I used the PAC RP4-CH11 harness for this installation.

I installed this system today. The Seicane H201L and H201G are the same according to a conversation that I had with Seicane's sales folk. I've had no issue with the head unit after following the instructions provided in this video. Here are a few of my experiences: 1) On the PAC RP4-CH11, you need to adjust the interface to recognize the correct aftermarket head unit it is being connected to. Since Seicane isn't one of the options listed in the instructions, I utilized option "7" for "other". This is working just fine for me. I have programmed the steering wheel controls successfully. In fact, there is the additional option to long-press (versus a short press) on each button to get additional responses. 2) I did NOT need to purchase the CarPlay dongle in order for CarPlay to function with my iPhone. I was a little nervous that Seicane sales may not have understood my question when I emailed them. However, as they stated, CarPlay functions using an Android app that was pre-installed. So, CarPlay functions as expected. Since the phone does most of the heavy lifting, performance isn't really an issue with this functionality. 3) At this point, the biggest negative that I have with this unit is the fit of the trim pieces. Everything still isn't looking great. But I'm hopeful I'll be able to tighten some of the gaps with a little bit more extra effort. One of the posts that you transfer clips to was broken off on arrival. Interestingly, the location where the broken piece is actually fits tightly. 4) I don't profess to completely understand why the speakers only use two channels (therefore I trusted the wiring from this video), but I do wish that I hadn't lost the fade controls within the audio. However, regardless if you're an audiophile or not, this is a JEEP - throw the top back, enjoy the wind in your hair and don't overthink if you're hearing the too much decay from the punchy notes, or if the vocals are clipping even when the volume is low. Save that scrutiny for your drive out to the Cape in your BMW. 5) I installed a backup camera that I purchased from Amazon today as well. It too is working nicely. This is my first experience with installing a backup camera, but I read in the small print in the installation instructions of the camera that it recommends connecting the camera's power to the reverse lights, rather than at the head unit, since I drive a manual transmission. 6) I've spent a little bit of time going through the settings and have enjoyed tinkering around with everything. This is my first experience with anything Android, and while I my impression is that it's not quite as intuitive as Apple products, it's not too overwhelming. I plan to purchase a OBD2 bluetooth device in order to be able to geek out on the performance of my truck. And, I need to sort out the TPMS situation. Does anyone know anything about using the factory TPMS transmitters with this unit? Can I do it? That's it.

I just purchased this head set and followed the video here and other comments. Everything I expected to work as advertised and in this video: BT phone calls, BT audio, backup camera, Spotify, Navigation, etc. The only thing not working is the "Amplifier" settings...meaning, when I try to change those presets "rock", "pop", "custom" or mess with the "Fader" slider, nothing happens (no change to audio). The "Loudness" toggle works, but even turning this up the bass and overall audio is lower volume/quality than the factory radio I replaced. I do not have the Premium Alpine system so I didn't go with the PAC module here, but now wondering if by not having this if this is effecting the sound quality. I just emailed Seicane for help but wanted to post here in parallel for advice.

That's night and day how much snappier it is compared to the old one. Thats the one thing that kind of stinks with the quad core version and even my wife says it's annoying to wait to start driving so maps can load if we need it. Thanks for the video!

I did change old Seican to the Model H201 so far so good the old one I had few problems with the amplifier did not work with my Jeep 2014 and Gps Niv after 6 months stopped receiving signal.

Update!! I wired speakers wrong, so that resolved speaker issue, but on the PAC you have to set the dial on the side to 7 for the steering wheel features to work, I had set to 1 because the instructions said 1 for Alpine, which is what my speakers are, but called Support and he said Set to 7

Kelvin Tidwell on the PAC itself there is a dial with numbers, you set the number to the corresponding radio you have, you set the dial to 7 which is designated for “other” brands

14 wrangler sahara. Can't seem to get the swc to work...all buttons work ...Pac is flashing with buttons ...but radio does not respond reset pac from 1 to 7 as another commented to do...nada...same.....back to 1...no change leaves me wishing you were highly paid by the factory....as i do not speak chinese...and your videos are wonderfully well explained....excellent

I bought a Seicane unit for my motorhome unfortunately. It would not work and then aftersales stopped answering emails. They advised trying connecting the radio direct to an ACC supply bypassing their CAN bus decoder which proved the radio was OK and the CAN bus decoder was faulty, that was the last helpful suggestion they made. They only answer emails when they are about to close for the day so that you have to wait for another day for a response (if any)

I wired my radio exactly as your video instructed but I'm getting an error code. If the engine is running or the key is the whole way on it is the error code. With the key just in the accessory position the radio will work but no steering wheel controls. Any idea what I could have done wrong?

HI, Love the videos and was hoping you may be able to point me in the right direction, i upgraded from the 6.0 to the 9.0 somewhat the same as you have and my system "powers off" randomly through a drive and will come back on soemtimes and then do it again. Then sometimes i start the jeep and system doesnt power on at all (no illuminated lights on the side either) please help!

Thanks. This new harness fixed my Bluetooth problem and my sub is much louder. The only problem I have now. Is the EQ doesn’t work. So the sub is very loud. And I can’t control it. Does your EQ work ?

Im looking at getting the eonon 10.1 with the same pac module because i want to keep the steering wheel controls in my 07 dodge ram so you just need to connect the blue and yellow on the pac to one of the keys on the radio harness? Did you have to program the pac too or just do the study on the radio?

Hello Thank you for your videos, they are always very helpful. I have the original amplifier. I connected everything according to your instructions with the PAC RP4-CH11. But it rustles and beeps from the speakers! Also, the music is still too loud even on the lowest volume control! Otherwise everything works very well. I would appreciate a quick reply.

I am afraid to get siecane cause they charge $64 to ship and you can't return if you don't like it or it doesn't fit So Im looking for other alternatives on amazon but the pac harness was a great find here TY

I recently purchased this and the Pac and used your video as a guide for wiring. 2 issues 1 no radio reception at all just static as it acts as it cant even find a signal. 2 I have no steering wheel controls. I have the pac wire from what I can tell correctly but the wheelkey study does not register any of the keys when pressed. Any advice ty.

At 11:20, you mention the wire splitting off and going to the 12V in for the camera. In the text it says to not connect that. I'm currently installing this in my Jeep and while I can get the unit to detect that I'm in reverse, I can't get the factory camera to show in the display. It just shows a yellow/orange triangle. Do I need to feed it a different input?

I've installed a Mekede 10.1 10inch in my Chrysler 2008 300c, everything works plug and play but I have no sound from the phone, it dials and conects but I have not sound or voice. You said the phone comes from the front outlets on the Secane, and to the rear on the jeep. Any ideas..

How do you have it wired? What about bluetooth sound. All of that stuff comes out of the front speakers, and if it's only using the rear channels for the feed to the Jeep amplifier, then it's missing all that stuff. As you saw in mine, I wired the fronts to the rears...

BT sound works just fine, as for the default radio app.. Its just sound from YT and Spotify that does not work. I have not done anything the the wiring. So you suggest to re-wire it? Great channel by the way ;) enjoy all your videos.

Overlanding.nu go into the factory settings and the voice menu and make sure that everything is turned up there. The default settings which are on mine are iPod 6, sys 8, av in 8, radio 7, BT 6, and DVD 0

Thank you for your help.. however it did not solve the problem. The strange part is that apart from having sound from the radio and BT devices, there is all so sound from touching on buttons, until you enter for ex YT or Spotify, then every sound is gone. The only way to have it back again is to power on the radio app. Will see if Seicane have an solution..

OC3, This video was incredibly helpful when installing. I have a weird one for you.. I’ve wired up and installed everything. Radio works along with Bluetooth from my phone. As soon as I open KZbin or pandora my audio goes silent but video will play. Is there something in the settings internally that I can fix this? Did I miss a wire connection? Let me say wow. Looks like you got it figured out. I have the same unit that I have not got working. For the last 90 days. Siecane has the worst customer service. The even had me change something with the mcu file. I don't have the same interface you have. I would love some help getting this working. I would like to double check every setting in there can bus settings. Never had audio untill a week ago when they told me to change can bus to jeep/kress(simple) but still alot of problems and no reply from them. Can you help a guy out

Hello, I can see you have used "PAC RP4-CH11" with the seicane new model, will it work with the old one? I am facing drastic reduction in base and audio quality from the time I installed this head-unit. specially that my speakers are original alpine coming from Jeep so noticed major change from stock head-unit to Seicane. Also did you use additional amplifier or it is only this unit which improved the audio quality.

shillcuttgroup there’s 2 ways... you can make your phone a hotspot ( like I did with my iPhone) or you can buy a SIM card if you bought the additional dongle and if I’m close to the house, I can hook up to the house’s wi-fi.

I followed your setup with the PAC and I have two issues. When the speakers get "not loud" but louder I get lots of static noise on radio, usb music, and streaming through BT. I wired the PAC same as you and BT works perfect with calls and everything just the noise problem. Tried changing settings like crazy with volumes and factory turn Amplifier off even. Sub works fine but it just crackles like crazy. The only other issue I had was my steering controls on back of wheel do not work, I've tried mapping them too but have had no luck. They are nice but can live without. I would however love the crackle to get fixed. Any thoughts?

I've had this new unit for a few months now and Seicane support has been trying to get it to work in my 2012 Jeep and the sound is bad and the bluetooth didnt work, I just ordered the PAC unit since I seen it worked from your video. one question. did you have to program the jeep for the reverse cam or did it work out of the box. my jeep did not come with a reverse camera I hooked one up with the power to it going to the reverse lights. and it is not working on my radio.

The 15 had the small speaker the 17 has a round speaker. they say there will be a gap. any pics of the left side of the dash that they sent would be helpful. Part that goes over the steering wheel. That seems to be the only reason it won't fit. I may could trim it down, not sure or would factory piece be modified to mate the Secaine piece, unit housing?

Just plug it in then... and you don't need a GPS. It comes with a GPS antenna, or you might have an antenna already installed in your jeep even if its not being used.

Hey OC3 I'm thinking of trying to custom fit that radio in my 09 jku. You want to sell the old one or donate it.

I've been very anxious to install this unit in my 2010, but I'm a bit wary about the modifications required to make it fit. I reached out to Seicane and they don't have a dash piece for the pre-2012 JKs. If you're able to fit this unit onto your Jeep, I would love to see it.

What number did you select for the radio rotary switch on the side of the PAC?

Tyree Foster any luck finding out which setting? I was going to go for 7 since it's labeled "other in the PAC instructions.

Yea, I went with 7 and it seems to be working fine. Honestly, I'm getting way better sub response from the factory sub with the Seicane than I did with the factory stereo. So far so good (knock on wood)

I’m guessing you got this better radio for free as well. Otherwise knowing the sub issues amount other issues why would you spend another 419.00 plus 70 for shipping and 90 for the Pac unit.

Glad you think I just dump free products in my Jeep regardless of how I feel about them. That's not me, sorry. I don't mind tinkering and making things work. I happen to like this radio a lot, which is why I ordered the upgraded version (the first was a little laggy). If you don't like it, you should not buy it. I've had that PAC laying around in my office since the first one, and I just never installed it. I wish used it one the first radio, because it really does make a difference. Other than looking another rebrand of the same radio...which all come out of China, there is nothing else out there that I like better for what I use the radio for. If I just wanted a "sound system" this would not be my choice. So... back to the real point. I don't have any issues with my radio. You must.

Have you tried to connect a Bluetooth OBD2 scanner (Veepeak VP01) as I can't get it to connect to this headunit.

Tough to answer that for you. I have friends I would NOT recommend this too...and I have others I would. What's your tolerance for stuff that doesn't work exactly right? How important are the "tablet" features of an Android system over audio quality or vehicle compatibility? Do you like to tinker? What if the one you get is dead? Are you willing to deal with the hassle of Chinese customer "support"?
