The game is beautiful, but the actual graphical fidelity (model, texture and effect details) are on par with games from 10 years ago. The engine just isn't great, so performance is severely lacking.

This was my first souls game and it changed my entire perspective on games. Before it was FPS and ADHD riddled gameplay, but Elden Ring forced me to learn patience, enabled me to focus more on open world games (something I struggled with for my entire life) it taught me a whole new way of playing games. I’ve since beaten Elden Ring 7+ times, and I’m almost finished with my Souls Journey. What a game.

@@simongomes7250 i always loved fromsoft lore in their games but because the games are so liniar, so small main path no real exploration but in ER you have this lore accurate world without limits. You can go to every location in your own way and have a unique journey compared to other ER players. This is what makes ER unique compared to past fromsoft games. Best fromsoft game. Not even close

The past Soulsborne games I'd just steamroll the whole thing in 8-10h on subsequent playthroughs while ER takes like 50h or so. Still, it's mostly a me thing as these days sadly I don't have much time for longer playthroughs. Also, my first run was memorable enough for me so I don't consider that exactly as a problem.

This is very emotional for me. I have been though a lot in this two years, lot of changes, important people entering and dissappearing from my life, but Elden Ring was always there for me. My comfort zone and my place to escape from the reality. I know there are a lot of other games, i have enjoyed other Fromsoftware games, but Elden Ring opened a whole other world, playing a game and at the same time enjoying a well made book. Thank you VaatiVodya for giving all of us your videos explaining lore, and showing all your hard work and love for the game. Two years of Elden Ring, but we'll have a couple more with the DLC!

I remember being bummed out that the Dark Souls series had ended, little did I know we would get something beyond any expectation I possibly had. One of the greatest, if not the greatest game I've ever played. Will definitely go down as a timeless classic. Masterpiece through and through and still have go just sit back and awe of the art style, scenery, beauty and hard work they put into this game. So excited for the DLC.

Not that I was gone for long, but the DLC trailer brought me back in and I couldn’t be happier. There’s something truly magical about just walking around somewhat aimlessly and finding your path. Even now after beating all the major challenges NG+3 in and thinking I’ve combed every inch of the game, I’m still finding new items and secrets for the first time. The wait we had feels like a far off memory now… and in 2 years I’ve gained fun thrill and intrigue in ways I wouldn’t have expected in a lifetime otherwise.

This made me strangely emotional. Elden Ring released while I lived alone, attending school and quarantined. For weeks on end, every spare minute I had was spent exploring the Lands Between. While the reality of that time is more nightmare than nostalgia I relished in the opportunity to play with almost zero distractions or intrusions. The DLC is the first thing I've been truly hyped for for years, I've even booked time off work for it. Props to FromSoftware for making such a fascinating world, can't wait to go back.

Their camera work and b-roll has been superb in each and every vid. Their footage during the Frenzy Flame lore video is still one of my favorite visual scenes in any of the lore videos. Just amazing!
